I'd add that Iron Man is the only character that can open both kinds of doors. For smash doors equip Hulkbuster, hold triangle, then hit L1 to unequip it. You barely use any of the heroic gauge, it will be ready to use again in no time. This combined with his flight makes him the perfect farmer.
Im proud of myself because I already use this build lol and Pym Particles on Rockets is overpowered for Iron Man. Keep a look out for it and try it out. If you hit one (maybe two) targets with smart rockets (even some bosses and elite enemies) they shrink 9/10. I think it's the perfect perk for the rocket build
@@bickle8931 I mean my lady calling me a big kid or the homies wanting to play 2k or cod. This all I feel like playing atm. Technically I have fell through the stage, Enemies not load, plenty animation/sound glitches
I just found out about your iron man build video, it was really a great guide, but i'm going to stick on repulsor because i always love close combat fighting with iron man and you can connect the combos into airborne combo with repulsor
I got legendary gauntlets with Armor Breaker Which kills 15% increase damage from all weapons. A heroic gear piece with Sky Dominion, 25% increase damage to range attacks when overcharged and Breaker Buster, increases all damage in hulkbuster armor.
I would suggest shock on the melee and pym on the ranged. I would also suggest some a decent amount of intensity then all you have to do is rocket them up then signature move (cant remember the name off hand) them for crazy +/- damage. The squish is real tho. Wouldn't hurt to roll some resolve in there, here and there. Also... you can use your green shield to overcharge yourself for even more dps.
Questions: 1) When you're not able to activate Arc Overload or Hulkbuster abilities: a) and Intrinsic Energy is low - what is the best way to quickly increase it? b) when Willpower (Health) is low - what is the best way to quickly increase it? 2) Which Artifacts (both Major & Minor) do you recommend for: a) working well with your Rocket Damage build? b) keeping Iron Man alive longer (survivability)? Thank you, in advance.
Quick note if you're looking to min/max Iron Man be prepared to want to scratch your eyes out looking for Precision/Valor gear that rarely ever exists with the right perks
currently i use rocket build... rockets do insane damage even in challenge iv, and its also guided. easy to aim and fire. so primary stat is precision, secondary stat is resilience and resolve so my build is a bit tanky.
Rockets are my main ranged ability, I use repulsors more in my melee combos and use the quick aim/heavy attack to pick off the drones while I’m hovering, and the lasers are my AOE damage dealing. Love the variety of them all, and I’m sure people use them differently than I do. That’s the best part about it!
I recommend ignoring valor might and proficieny and go with a lot of presicision and resillence and a bit of resolve. You will deal a lot of damage and never die. Only use your abilities to overcome the time needed to recharge your intrinsic energy or to get out of bad situations. Also for his support ability go with the big barrier around you. That one is much more practical. Just a small tip. If you pick him as companion he will mostly use his repulsors. If you get his set repulsors from the villian sector you will have the status type on repulsors and missiles. So he will be very usefull against bosses as a companion. This will force you to have proficieny though.
@@Cheeseybeaver45 No problem. A lot of youtubers I have seen to learn something from their builds, go glass cannon just to clickbait for the high damage numbers. They are fine but in a realistic scenario you will die more often, losing out stars for the mission completion.
SgtYTube i’d agree with most of what you said except for the ignoring proficiency part. proficiency not only increases critical chance % but also increases the proc rate of your perks. for a missile-heavy build, watching those multiple splash damage burst critically is amazing. i’ve tried my best to reach around 25% crit chance but haven’t yet been able to hit that mark at 50/150. i’m sitting at 19.8% right now. but yah, the whole glass cannon meta is a bit silly to me; without throwing points into resolve you basically get one or at best two shotted by any type of hard hitting enemy. sacrificing a bit of dps to be tankier is the way to go. besides, with the right perks you can have an insane uptime for damage buffs, which make up for any dps loss you get by not ignoring resolve/resilience. as a final note- i thought resilience was undervalued at first, but during a difficult encounter on brutal difficulty, i tried to switch my gear on the fly when i couldn’t clear it. my current build has around 15.6% resilience, so i upped it to nearly 30% at the cost of around 4,000 hp - it did NOT go well, the tradeoff wasn’t worth it at all. there were no modifiers on the mission specific to more damage being done to me, so it wasn’t that. you’d imagine having 2x more resilience would have a noticeable difference but instead i died more quickly. not saying resilience should be totally ignored, but it’s also less impactful than it should be.
@@AntichristKittyStar I tested a lot in the last days and you are right. Resilence is not as good as resolve. I found that out too and I keep my heath around 15k and my armor around 20% to 30%. I still ignore proficieny because it scales very poorly. There are better ways to get crit chance like shock status or a damage buff. There is one more thing I switched. For Thor and Hulk I aim for 100 valor. These two heroes can deal a lot of damage with their abilites and you can spam them with ring of nebelung. I also decided to not go with a lot of the hero specific gear sets since most of them aren't as good as the random drops. One final thing is that challenge IV does really increase the rarity of the gear you get. Do a full clear run on Challenge II and than on IV on the mission Day of Remains. The enemies, the value target and the chests all will drop legendaries or epics on IV but bronze chests are limited to power level 120 gear. Edit: Forgot to mention how proficieny scales. 10 Proficieny will givd you 1% crit chance and 0.1% perk chance.
SgtYTube RE: the challenge modifiers, yes, this has actually been known for a while and has been the case since the game came out. not only do you get a higher chance at better gear, but you get 3x more resources from everywhere on brutal (chests, crates, and high value targets will drop 3x upgrade modules instead of 1 or 2). the star-system at the end of missions likewise directly influences the gear rewards you receive at the end of a run; i got an identical piece from doing a brutal run (elite vault); the 4-star score version vs. the 5-star score version had exactly the same stats and same perks, but the numbers for both (base stat numbers and proc rate % on the perks) were significantly different. so you really wanna be aiming for 5 stars on everything possible, at least when there’s gear involved as a reward at the end since not EVERY mission will necessarily give gear upon completion (tho most do). as it stands, my iron man is sitting at 18,900hp, 16% resilience, and 2k base ranged with 20% crit chance, 16% proc rate, 35% stun. all the perks involve damage buffs, 135% additional crit dmg, and the chest piece is mostly for added survivability (i haven’t come across any chest stuff that has offensive perks i don’t think, they all seem to cater more to things like invulnerability or willpower boosts, etc). still playing around and tweaking things, but i’m very happy with the direction it’s headed. one thing i can and probably should do it give up some or most of the valor points i have for more precision, but still waiting on good rolls to do that with.
Keep in mind, that high damage is possible because the enemy is either under your level or the same level. Against higher level enemy it’s significantly lower. (Maybe enemies have some sort of damage reduction its weird)
I don’t find rocket spamming fun. I’m more of a well rounded IM. I’ve been able to get keep all my stats high enough that I’m pretty good in all situations. Plus I play mostly perimeter so as to keep the heavy hitters from getting sniped. So my IM looks nothing like this and is 142-144. Almost 1200 melee, 1500 ranged, 1500 def, and 1400 heroics give or take.

When I first got rockets the damage was so high compared to repulsors I thought it was a bug that was going to be later nerfed in a patch

Great summary and will be using. So far he is my least used hero, but I need to catch him up.

do you have a lasers build? you should do one if not!

Anyone use repulsors instead of rockets? I like them better but the dps is so much lower I just can't seem to justify using them over rockets.

Ranged. All of his intrinsic abilities(repulses, etc.) are affected by the range stat
