  • Old Vs New 2024 Toyota Tacoma-- Which Is Better? HONEST OPINION
It's not every day that the Toyota Tacoma, that iconic midsize pickup truck, undergoes a complete redesign. Yet, for 2024, Toyota rolled out some major changes that have certainly piqued the interest of truck enthusiasts and potential buyers alike. While many of these improvements are undoubtedly appealing, there are several factors to weigh carefully when deciding whether to invest in the all-new 2024 model or remain loyal to the tried-and-true older generation. You’re going to want to stay to the end because even though the thought of a redesigned Tacoma is exciting, there are some serious considerations before buying.

If you want an Off Road Tacoma with the Limited trim pkg, simply buy a TRD Off Road with the Premium and Technology pkgs.
This is what I did when I bought my 23 with the 6’ bed.

Glad to see somebody finally; bringing up the elephant in the room. People like these trucks for their reliability. Something not usually associated with turbo four bangers or 8 speed autos. I just bought a '23 TRD Sport.

Same. Bought a 23 Off Road in September 2023 for reliability

I had a second gen and I bought a third gen I honestly love both but I’m definitely worried about the fourth gen having more issues

I have a '01 Taco that runs like a clock. At today's prices, longevity and reliability are EVERYTHING!
That said, I would love to upgrade... I just can't justify the expense.

I got a 2002 Tacoma and it’s on its last leg. I’m split on whether to get the 2023 or 2024.

I had the choice between a slightly used (6K miles) 23 TRD with the Premium and Technology pkgs, 6’ bed , double cab or an identical 24 year model.
I chose the 23, Only because of the proven Reliability and Durability of the 3.5L Naturally Aspirated (NA) V6.
Historically a Turbo engine simply doesn’t last as long as a NA.
We keep our vehicles for 15-20 years.
So what if the new Turbo gets 1mpg better fuel economy? For the fuel you’ll save won’t pay for the cost of a new engine.
My 11 Rav 4WD Limited had the 3.5L, as does my mother’s Lexus.
If you change your oil and filter every 5K miles and do regular maintenance, your 3.5L V6 Tacoma should last well past the 300K mile mark.
No gasoline powered Turbo will last that long.
Yeah I know that Obumhole made it law that by 2025 all vehicles had to get Unreachable fuel economy figures, so everyone has to bow down to that Anti American Communist agenda.
But if something isn’t broke, don’t “fix” it.

Hard to go wrong with the 23 if you're going to keep it for 20 years, that's for sure

I thought the comment about upgrading to the new Tacoma was funny because I initially thought, “Who would buy a new vehicle just for the possibility of another 2-3mpg?” Then I remembered: there are people out there who do dumber things than that, so it’ll happen.

The 2024 is not even out yet and few reviewers have driven it.....I think everyone on YT is jumping the gun. Hundreds of 2024 Tacoma videos and it's not even available to purchase yet.

Have a 2021 TRD Pro in Lunar Rock and a 2003 TRD Off Road in Lunar Mist... drives like new. I love them both, with a clear affection for the 1st Gens. Won't be upgrading anytime soon. Never buy the first year of any newly released vehicle. Wait until the bugs are worked out. There will be some as there always is.

    • @ElChupahuahua
      @ElChupahuahua ปีที่แล้ว

@@chrisdrives8204 It's got a deeper growl than standard Tacoma equipment, but doesn't drone like some aftermarket cat-backs. However, still not a huge selling point to me. The biggest "Pro" is the Fox suspension, which is truly amazing and well-tuned for this 3rd Gen Tacoma.

The ‘024 Tacoma doesn’t have a dash-it’s got that Jumbotron screen, which dominates everything up front. Somebody in design management should be kicked.

I hear alot of that. I actually had a new 2012 SR5 and it was the biggest piece of junk I ever owned. It used to ping for octane and sounded like a diesel. Dumped it in less than a year. I must have just got a bad one everyone else raves about the 4.0 but it did sour me on the gen 2. I've had them all. Gen 1 was great just not very refined and it rotted out on me. I think the current Gen 3 is pretty good. Took me 10 years to even consider another Toyota til recently

If they had made the backseat legroom larger I would upgrade. They did not, I would stick with the older one.

I'm certain the gen4/2014 will be an improvement. Price might bump like the new Tundra. The new Taco looks like it was designed by people who drank too much coffee. Jeez, can it say TOYOTA any larger?

I just was at the Miami auto show and you cannot configure the back seats of the 2024 to be the same as the 2023 model that was the deal breaker for my wife other than that it looks great ,I don’t know why they couldn’t have just let the back seats alone ,it’s definitely worse for space
