The development of West Coast Park began in 1977. West Coast Park covers an area of roughly 50 hectares of park land consisting of three areas, each with its own variety of activities.
There is a freshwater lake, open spaces, a playground, and an area for picnics and barbeques. There is an open space for kite flying, a campsite, and a marsh garden, a McDonald's restaurant (which is usually packed during the weekends), a dog run, and a bicycle obstacle course.
