Pre maintenance is essential before you go to the field . Hopefully you’ll have no issues. Thanks for sharing, planter 101 class !

Those inserts would be nice. Seems like I always end up covered in graphite from scratching seed down into the meter. Been doing the same thing here as the weekend was nice enough to work on it.

Yup, thats always when the nose itches lol. Was nice while it lasted, looks like a couple days back in the freezer. What do you think of your 1760 after tearing into it?

I have to readjust the shims on he disk openers on my JD 7100 soybean planter I've recently purchased. They appear to be too close together at the bottom on the blades where they make contact. The JD parts manual shows a total of 10 (5 to each side). I believe there should be equal of number of shim washers on both sides to have up to a 2 inch contact where the blades touch. I was always under that impression. Am I accurate there should be the same number of shims on each side?

Look at you go. I don’t know how well I’d like that planter on the 3pt. Everything in this part of the world is pull type. How often do you have to rebuild it? Liking the new shed?

It has its good things and bad on the 3 point. The last openers were put on in 2016. They were down to 14 5/8. Love having a shed big enough to bring things in to work on and unfold them.
