Also very useful drafting tools for machine parts. By setting the points themselves into the engraved/etched, whatever, markings of a steel rule, you can produce very accurate and repeatable layouts. Very cool things.
Cnc makes purty good circle or piece of stiff flat corrugated cardboard with a scratch awl at center an pencil poked through at the radius dimension

I got a 12 ish inch dividers with pencile holder for 16.98 cents@ Harbor Frieght. They are great, and work excellent looks almost like the one you have. Only mine is much bigger😅😅😅😅😅
The 7 inch Red Rose Divider with pencil adaptor is like $166 shipped. I lust after it in the way crows lust after shiny things, but would take a LOT to justify/rationalize it.

Do some bongos dude. I just looked at some bongos on the inside and I thought of you. They are barely a music instrument and I’m sure they are well within skill range. You Know you could even do guitars even a violin if you were bold. Bongos are just a bunch of flat pieces angled on the sides where they come together and form a tight circle. I count 16 pieces on the big drum and 14 on the other we are talking maybe an inch wide or 1-1/2” for each piece evenly.

That is another way. There are lots of them.
