i got like 6 echo devices and i didnt even know half of these commands lol..
That voice in Alexa, reminds me the voice in wave race 64,
"Welcome to Dolphin park"
"One more time, follow the dolphin"
"Press up and down on the control stck, to lean the rider forward and back" that voice sounds almost the same.
Just got one of these glowing orbs, i set her to say a custom goodmorning/goodnight message, dim the lights and play music. I really thought i did something 😭😭😪😪
Compared to most people you did... Life is a learning process. I've outfitted the whole flat with smartlife, two flex, broadlink, Google and attempting hubitat. Fibro and breast cancer, it makes things easier since I'm alone.
Automations in Google and Smartlife are better than Alexa but it really depends what you want. An example is a flood sensor in the bath that triggers the immersion heater for 30 minutes when submerged.. And the switch times itself for me.
It's a shame that it's not possible to incorporate the visual countdown timer of the Echo Dot, into a routine.
Someone broke into some friends home because they trusted Alexa to control their locks. Speak loudly, "Echo/Alexa unlock the front door." into any home to see if they have Alex controlling their locks. Never use these things for security unless it's to view cameras. We trust these assistants too much. Don't be too dependent on them.
It ain't hard to get into a locked house,but locks like that are just as safe as any other so long as you are careful with picking and setting them up well as well as not letting there be an alexa in a spot people could shout into,but seriously if someone wanted to break into your house that badly not having smart locks wouldn't stop them I promise you

Got this device as a gift. After a few reviews like that I still can’t find an application for it. All things shown in the video can be done with a few taps by a smartphone without talking while being sure about what you exactly do (and usually faster). When it comes to voice commands, it seems like Siri perfectly handles all the stuff I need. Besides, it seems like I already have enough people speaking at home… hmm… great piece of tech, but what’s a point?….

Is there an alexa skill that helps me know where I've put my stuff around the house?!
For example, I say: "Alexa, I put the boxing gloves in the second drawer in the big closet." and , "Alexa, I kept the tire pump on the garage shelf in a blue box."
Later (maybe months later) I would ask Alexa where I kept something and she would answer me what I had previously told Alexa.
example: "Alexa, where is the air pump?"
Alexa: "air pump is on the shelf in the garage inside a blue box"
I would love to have a skill like this one or similar. Does anyone know if there is already an alexa skill like this or similar?
