Schinkel Square in Berlin

Schinkelplatz is located in the center of Berlin, southwest of the Palace Bridge, behind the old headquarters.
The monuments of Albrecht Thaer, Peter Beuth and Karl Friedrich Schinkel stand here.
A novelty in Berlin at the time, because they were, erected until 1869, the "first heroes in public without a sword," according to the sculptor Christian Daniel Rauch.
Laid out in 1837 in front of the Bauakademie in the shape of a narrow triangle according to plans by Peter Joseph Lenné, Schinkelplatz was redesigned in 1887, heavily damaged in the Second World War, built over during the GDR era and reconstructed after reunification until 2008.
