Rajan!

It would have been nice to know a little of what was being said but oh well. The cement monument that was being made was very nice with the red lettering on it. Nice to see JK. We got used to him with Rojan now he lives in the village. As far as I understand this ceremony is giving a place of rest to the ancesters. That is a beautuful thing. 🌱🌷

They're building a resting point in the name of Bhumi's late parents, also Rojan grandparents. People can take a break there after a long walk and rest for a while. At the same time, they also build a gravestone for them, the one down the hill. It's quite normal in Asia countries to do this, it's to honour their memories. Some will build church, temple or school and named it after the ones they want to remember or a monument with their pictures on it. But I noticed during my visit in Nepal, I saw lots of resting points built in remembrance of someone especially in rural areas. Few also have a tap water installed so people can drink while taking a rest there.

I just googled what a chautaro or charteri is and I got my answer. I’ve watched so many Nepalese videos I’m understanding some Hindi words so maybe either google or try to learn rather them adapt to us

@@ladylandofhornbillnow I understood what is this all about in commemorating his great ancestors

@@MamaStyles Not everyone has the time to learn and google everything they said. Also not everyone can really catch what they said and exactly how to spell it before they can put in google translate. When they're speaking their native language, even google translate can't do it. I think it's reasonable for people to request for subtitles since they make it for people to watch. They need the views and the viewers need the subs, it's a give and take situation.

@@amore1056 Yeah, it's a very common practice in many Asian countries.
