Thank you for your positive video about Southland. (Although not all of it was in Southland, but hey, we love our neighbors). I moved here 20 years ago from the USA and love it. It is different, but really is a wonderful place to live. As an artist, I love the outdoor beauty as well as the face to face richness of the people who live here.
Beverly Claridge thank you so much for watching and leaving such a lovely comment! We thought about making the move to NZ... it could still happen! :) We think NZ is such a beautiful country with good people ☀️ Hope you subscribe and enjoy our other travel videos 💗
Hi guys, you missed the Invercargill Queens Park. Not to be missed and the Invercargill museum. Then there is a fantastic walk on a track at Bluff against the ocean. No to to be missed. Then there was a great free museum and film show on history of the area we saw when we were in Riverton
Love love love your guys video. Southland doesn't get a good rap but you guys painted it in such a great light. Wherever you go next I hope you have an amazing adventure. Much aroha
For your information city of Ushuaia in Argentina originally called the "End of the World" the southernmost city in the world and the closiest place to Antartica.
You're right that Ushuaia is the world's most southerly city. For Aotearoan/New Zealand references, the Catlins are their mainland's most Southerly Point. However, Stewart Island, Auckland Islands, and Campbell Islands are more Southerly.
Nice video. I’m planning to visit in September with ny friends. Did you travel from Invercargill to Dunedin and stayed in Dunedin? We’re planning to do a day trip only but not sure if it’s doable.
Jenna Suri Thanks for watching! We traveled from Invercargill to Taieri - it was a long day but definitely doable! The drive to Dunedin without stops is about 4 hours, so once you factor in all of the stops you’ll want to take... you’ll want to get an early start! Good luck and happy adventuring!
great video... I came here because I am thinking about studying in SIT Invercargill, but I not sure I can live in small and cold cities for much time. But for sure there is really cool stuff to do in southland.
Thanks for finding our video! I agree, I think it would be hard to live in a cold city... I love the beach and sun! But Southland is a gorgeous place to explore and visit 😉👍
Absolutely you would love Invercargill especially their lovely people. Now Invercargill developing quite rapidly compare to 4 years ago. It's really a beautiful and peace place. I do love Invercargill. Unless if you likr night life, this place is not for you.
Those 'neglected' buildings are tremendous loss to invercargill, for some perspective we now have a neglected museum, Anderson park and Donovan park, the issue is not buildings it's people, that don't appreciate what they have. The main disease of the south.
