Hi, I’m not familiar with your weather, but in theory if you can grow onions where you live you can be able to grow the giant onions. In the UK I will keep the seedlings frost free and growing in my greenhouse unit late April- early May and plant outside when the weather is warming up. They can stand it cool but not frosty. What they also need is around 4 months good growing conditions in the garden after planting out. Hope that helps? Martin
