Thanks for your videos are very helpful!! I have a question im hoping you can answer. I have curb and gutter on one side of a road and median curb with 10” reveal. Concrete is there but subgrade is not done for paved area in between. I created a break line for curb and gutter lip and top of curb. If i create a surface between those two lines the grade will be off because of my 10” reveal on the curb. Is there a way to creat a vertical 10” offset on the top of curb that i shot to creat an accurate fg as built model? I know i can edit each shot elevation but im just hoping there is a quicker way maybe dropping that whole break line with top of curb shot by 10”. Thank you keep up the helpful videos!
I am so glad these are helping. Sometimes I wonder if its all worth it. So you are in luck, if you have advanced measurements on your siteworks, you do have the ability to set a vertical offset while recording a single point or as you record a line string. Go to your MENU- go down to SETTINGS- then hit MEASURE- and in there is a line that says MEASUREMENT OFFSET. Drop the bar down and set to ENABLED. Then when you go back out to the main screen and then go into your measure type (where you are choosing point or line to do) you will have a new option in there to be able to set a VERTICAL OFFSET to what you are measuring. So example, if you have one side of a parking lot or road that needs the reveal like you said, you can set it to record what you are shooting with the point of your pole, but it will apply an offset to it as you shoot it in and don't have to edit it later on. This will solve your problem. I actually have this on my list to make a video on. Maybe I will move it to the top of my list. I have just been busy lately and slowed down on my video creations. Hopefully this helps in the mean time.
great info thanks
