Just wanted to say as a beginner playing this game for only a few days I am learning things about this game every day by watching your videos as I think if your channel didn’t exist I would be really struggling so keep up the good work 👍
That's awesome to hear! If you have any questions feel free to join my discord (link in description) or just put them in the comments! This game is really cool, but you need to have a good start with it, otherwise people will get overwhelmed. I wish you a great time with the game and maybe I will see you around in the future ;)
wth, my night team files complaints all the time, they get night compensation but they complain about working at night and being worn out the whole time, how can I fix that?
Do they have too many tasks maybe? That might be the reason why they complain about being worn out? Working at night is a debuff that is there most of the time when someone needs to work at night. Giving them compensation makes the debuff smaller, but I don't think you can take it away entirely just by compensating.
these are great videos, very helpful for a game of such scale and management understanding. Question: (i may have missed it in other videos) When a produce says it need eg: 5 design, 5 artist, 5 programmers to make. anymore working on the project tends to slow it down, and create bugs... does that include afternoon and day shifts? if the limit if 5/5/5 can i have 15/15/15 spread across 3 shifts to optimize development time, or that is literally what the limit is trying to prevent?
Sorry for the late reply, you might have found the answer yourself already but: The product needs for how many people in which roles need to work on the product are totals. This means that it counts all designers, artist and programmers in the team or teams that you assign to work on the product. When creating a product I believe it also shows up when you select or deselect teams to work on it (I do not think it shows up when you change that when the project is already running). So if you want to work with day/night shifts or any shifts for that matter you will still need to keep the total amount in mind when assigning teams. As a sidenote: this can happen for total amount but also if you overstack one particular role, for example: the product needs 2 artist, 2 designers and 5 programmers as a recommendation and you select 2 artists, 2 designers, but 10 programmers, you will still be slowed down due to the fact you have too many programmers. I believe in the product creation screen they will even warn you for this by making the text red when you have too many people working on it. Hope that helps!
Thanks! Regarding your question: compatibility (as far as I know) is just based on character features. For instance: if your character is an optimistic extrovert his compatibility will be best with people with those 2 same characteristics. I believe that's the only thing that changes it, but I can be wrong here. However, in practice it's really hard to get to 100% compatibility, especially if you increase the sizes of your teams. What I do personally is that I search for people that have amazing, great or at least good compatibilty with the team I want them to work in and then I look at the sliders for their characteristics. I find it far more important for instance that the slider between laziness and stress is in the middle so that the employee works fast, but not stresses out all the time. I hope this helps!
No problem! If you want to know more feel free to ask more questions or join our Discord (link in description) where more software inc. veterans are more than willing to help ;)
I cant get fucking auto hiring to work and I have no idea how. I fill in all criteria in the menu but somehow I need to add a leader. There is no clear way to do this, and hiring an HR leader and putting him on the team doesn't fix it either.
Just a few questions that a lot of people miss: Did you check if the HR leader has enough stars to be able to do hiring? (From your reaction, probably yes) Did you give the HR leader the leader role? Did you fill in the amount of people that is the target for your team size? If that is not done, the leader will not hire people If you did all these things I don't understand why it doesn't work without more information. Hope this helps!
One thing I'm confused about is the Support tutorial says that the actual Support skill is only used to create new bug tickets and to verify them. The actual bug fixing requires the Programming skill. However, every video I can find on creating a support team doesn't put anyone who can program in. So... I'm torn on whether I should put some programmers in or not.
In the older alpha versions you just needed a support team to handle both tickets and bugfixing, but this changed in alpha 11. If you're playing on alpha 11 you should definitely put a few programmers in your support team! You can let your service members do programming too, but without any skill they won't fix a lot of bugs. Hope that helps!
No problem! If you have any more questions or just fancy a nice chat you can also join the Discord (link in description of every video) to find like-minded people! :)
Hello, that is not a mod ;) That's part of alpha 11 and if your game doesn't have that, that means that you're not opted in to the newest versions of Software Inc. If you want to do this I will put a guide to it at the end of this comment, but keep in mind that old savegames will not work when you update! To opt in to alpha 11 do this: 1. Exit the game 2. Go to your steam library 3. right click Software Inc. and select properties 4. go to the betas tab 5. in the dropdown menu select "testing - alpha 11" 6. Press OK Steam should now start updating the game. If it doesn't, just restart Steam to force the update. Hope this was helpful!
It depends where you want to go with your game. Want to become a huge company? Yes, then you will have to go big and hire more teams and invest that money to make more money. Want to stay a cozy small company? Maybe invest that money in quality, so better equipment, nicer meeting rooms and canteens for your staff etc. Or use it to start building your name in a new product branch.
I did this too when I first started playing. It's by no means a bad approach, but it's not the most effective one. Having specialists means that you can guarantee a higher quality of work. It also means that you pay your employees less in the long term. People that get trained in everything expect a salary as if they're good in everything (which is never the case btw). People that are really good at one thing expect a salary that shows they're really good at that one thing and not at the rest. All that is mostly on crosstraining that is not very effective. On the point of making teams: having different teams for development and design/art (which is one team for me) is more effective. They can still work together on 1 project, but if the artwork is done you can use your designers/artists to do something else whilst your programmers finish the code. Hope this helps you and feel free to ask more if needed!
I'm really confused regarding the usage of "Secondary tasks" in the Teams window - i.e. I assign my Support team a "Secondary task" of porting, but they don't work on porting jobs, even when they're finished with all Support tasks.. once they're finished with all the Support tasks, they just go idle and complain about having nothing to do. Really confused.. can't find any tutorial on this specific thing either.
@@redwingdevil707 Hmm then it seems something is wrong. However, it is hard to say anything useful without being able to see the problems, but I do not know anything else at the moment that might cause this.
Nope I break them up, but thanks for the comment! What I like to do is break those groups up even though they're all service. Lawyers should not work support or marketing jobs since their not qualified for them and it is a waste of money to train them in it generally speaking. Marketeers same thing. Breaking the groups up in: Support, Law & Marketing teams also means that they deal with less tasks at a time, making sure that they get stressed less often.

How do you only have 80% compatability on an 8 man team? That is decreasing efficiency a lot
I know. The background game is just an old save that I used to explain a few things, it is by no means an example of the best way of playing the game.

I tend to make whole Dev teams with designers, artists and programmers combined, they cross train also. Is this not a good approach?
