One of the most beautiful and dreamy scales I have had the pleasure to play. Set in Gb Lydian with the root only appearing once again in the circle, the Nordlys has a feeling of a suspended floating sensation. Very dream like and never ending. The addition of the F that is the Major 7th twice on the bottom and once on the top helps add to this reaching, yearning, evolving, never ending dreamlike state. The F in this case also adds a strong element of Bb minor which is the relative minor to the Lydian here.
So happy to see new scales like this being born. In Norwegian "Nordlys" literally means "Northern Lights" which is very much felt when playing this instrument.
