The way I see it, I think that even if he *is* conscious and aware that *this* (our) Mark is "good", his train of thought is likely "oh, he's good... for now" and he's trying to "stop" Invincible before he turns bad. We don't know what kind of relationship these other Angstroms all had with their Mark's, though we do see that at least a few of them know Angstrom personally by name, so these Angstroms might've known those Mark's before they went bad, which makes Angstrom's paranoia make sense in that context since he now has all of those Angstroms' memories of Mark being an utter monster

I don't think people notice how affectionate Oliver was for the entirety of this season from start to finish. From reaching out to Mark when held by Andressa in the cave, "brah brah," holding Debbie when she was unconscious etc.

God I love the VA work in this ep. Sterling K Brown crushes it as Angstrom, Steven Yeun brings so much emotion to every line, and J.K. Simmons' delivery on that last line is just so so perfect.

S1 & S2 cover the introductory arcs in the comics. S1 ends saying this is not a traditional comic story. S2 is setting the personalities of the characters from the main course, ep1-3 of s2 are about trying to move on and failing, Mark with his friends but he's not training and is constantly looking for new street level threats, Amber has become an enabler, Eve is focusing on rebuilding despite her being so powerful, etc. 4-6 is everybody learning to trust. And 7-8 is confrontation with the future they cannot distract themselves away from what will come. S3 is things getting real.
I'm not giving any spoilers, but you need to know, the fun part begins now. I have read the comics, and the part upto this point is just the plot building. The real story starts now. Season 3 will blow over the internet.

I know some show only watchers say this felt like filler, or wasn't as bombastic as season 1. But all this is in the comics, and it's needed for the setup for the show going forward, as many of these things play into it. I also feel like some people are just not getting this show is not about big gory deaths, over the top fights, or shock value like say The Boys. It's about actual character growth. I love The Boys, the show, not the comic. The comic is horrible imo, but people need to stop thinking Invincible is gonna do what that show does. This has been a almost 1:1 to the comic, and it's glorious to see something adapted so faithfully with only improvements, and slightly changing the order of events to better pace it..
After spending the whole season denying that he’s his father, Mark proved Angstrom right by beating him lifeless (just like Nolan did to him), that Mark is his father’s son. And that’s needed for the fight against Viltrumites
Just like Mark Eve doesn't use her powers to their full potential. She has the ability to kill hundreds at a time. An example would be say turning the wings and engines of an airborne fully loaded commercial airliner to dust. She gets Mark as she's no killer either. Unlike everyone else except for Debbie she knew that Mark wasn't looking for justifications for his actions. She had been justified in killing her siblings who were trying to kill her. However they., Her and Mark didn't deserve the pain and anger . Eve's probably also aware that in the possible coming war Mark will be in the center of it and will probably have to kill again.
Eve not being able to use her full potential is cause she's got a mental block, Mark is simply not old enough yet, It takes Viltrumites hundreds of years to move at say Anissa or Nolans speed. They have to train their bodies like humans do. No one comes out of the womb deadlifting 350lbs. As someone who has read the comics it's infuriating to know what each is capable of and hear show only people just say they're not trying hard enough. Marks trying everytime he fights someone, he just usually either A) holds back cause he's not a murderer, or B) legit can not handle them. I hope next season this will stop with the he's not trying crap. Cause now he's actually gonna start training like Cecil asked last episode.

You start out slow, but over time you can run a marathon no problem if you train hard enough. You seen a small glimpse of that with that moment. And yes, Mark is special in his own way. The portal eventually reappears for mark and right when he was about to leave, peter shot a web to try and join mark but the portal closed before he could make it in time
Nolan isn't a bad guy, he's just a product of his environment. We all are, where and how we grew up is what shapes us. At some point it's up to your free will, to see if you can and are willing to change. I grew up in a single mother home and I was bullied, ever since elementary kids would tell me I'd probably end up on the news, my family said I'd end up in jail. I was lucky enough to have people in my life who cared and saved me. 5th grade I was put on probation. I grew up learning to understand others and myself, I now know how to control my emotions and I helped so many people. I now have real friends who have never left my side. I'm happy now, because I'm in my 20's I'm stuck and confused on what I want to do next. The influenced and unfortunate are one in the same.

This is also one of the only times Mark was able to let loose. He killed Levy because he assumed this fight was similar to battling other Viltrumites, such as his dad, or Allen the Alien. There really aren’t a lot of other people who can withstand Mark or any Viltrumite’s full strength - which is why when he let loose he assumed Levy would just be gravely injured like a normal being his power-level after his beatdown.

That's kind of a cool concept. Instead of Cate #1 being Cate Prime, she was actually the First Copy. It's obvious and yet somehow not at the same time.
I looked up some info on the Invincible comics years before the show was even a concept. And you know what? Atom Eve was about the most profiled character from those comics after Mark himself and Omni-Man. So we can expect to see Eve featured _a lot_ more from here on out. Aside from some of the comics' brutality, I don't remember a whole lot of what I looked up back in the day. I _do_ remember a little of what happens with Eve, however. To even bring _that_ much up, though, might be spoiling. 😉
I always hate when people say, "Well there's infinite dimensions so there's just going to be another of him." Just because there are infinite dimensions doesn't mean everything has happened an infinite number of times/ways. You can still have unique people/traits that are not found in any other of those infinite dimensions. There are infinite numbers and yet only 1 will give you the same number multiplied back with itself, for instance.
Except that for Donald it was actually him dying all those times. These flashbacks are NOT the same Angstrom that is in the living room. NONE of those are THIS Angstrom. These re the memories of all the OTHER Angstrom's who's memories he gained from the machine. Now, he's all insane because he thinks it all happened to HIM.
I mean, *can* Mark "do more" with his powers though? His only powers are super speed, super strength, flight and very high durability. Those are pretty average powers I'd say. It's just the level at which they're at that make Mark and other Viltrumites so dangerous. Really the only "different" thing Mark can is punch harder and be more aggressive ("fight like a Viltrumite") which is obviously something he doesn't really wanna embrace.
Angstrom said that in "most other" realities, Mark joined his father. The exact circumstances in which these events transpired are left ambiguous though, and it gets even more so once we find out some things about these alternate Mark's later on...
I like how they handled this whole love triangle more here, than the comic. Spoiler: He does tell her right away there. She get's mad at him for thinking he only broke up with Amber cause of that. Course this is after like 40 issues of Eve trying to just seduce Mark away from Amber, and Mark literally dumps Amber cause he thought Eve was more attractive. It's paints both of them in a bad light imo. Eve slutting it up, and Mark just thinking with what he has between his legs. Of course they mature more as the series goes on, but those first 40 issues of this is more like a teenagers wet dream, then really caring about each other.

So what hurt this season was the several months long gap inbetween the halves. The rollercoaster was forcibly stopped in the middle and it lost a lot of momentum, almost not clearing one of the loops. And my guess is... because Omni-Man was in Mortal Kombat. They probably timed the release in such way to let people enjoy the character, binge season 1 and then dive straight into season 2 (and buying 2 months of Prime)... except season 2 wasn't ready so they delayed it a bit and shoved out the door only the first half. Aaaand that hurt the show.
The gap sucked, I agree, but I still love this show, and season 3 won't take nearly as long to be released. Someone should tell them: no more gaps mid-season.
If you look closely at 7:20 when HR comes out of the portal, he hits angstrom with a fortnite sniper rifle. This means fortnite is canon in invincible.
We really need some conclusions in the next season for some other plots. Battle Beast and Titan for example werent even mentioned in this season. I love how story rich this universe is but I also think they should take more time for the next season. Feels like they were afraid of losing viewers over the production time or maybe Amazon put pressure on them, but I hope they can take more time this time.
What he's done is unforgivable and his death was the only way out with Mark's resources but, Levy has thousands of peoples anger/suffering clouding his mind, how do you fight that when there's only one of you without that. Levy is a tragic character like dude is just confused because of a freak science accident with way too much access to resources.
The only positive from the whole Angstrom stuff is just that now Mark won't hold back as much and start being more serious which is needed when those Viltrumites come.

Unfortunately, Angstrom's plan boils down to a 'Knightfall with portals' (Knightfall being the infamous Batman arc where Bane wears Batman down with a cavalcade of villains and then breaks his back), but attempting it on Superman 😬 He's not gonna get tired bro... I think the saddest part of Angstrom is that all his other selves were so terrified of bad Marks (that he probably could have beaten) that he got himself killed by the good Mark 🙃

Mark is a good kid but he’s so dumb. It’s frustrating. He got his hands on Sterling like two different times and could’ve stopped him if he wasn’t such a boy scout about it. Not even saying kill him necessarily but hurt him bad
I think it was Maple who mentioned that if Levi wanted Mark to learn something then he should have sent him to one of those evil mirror universes to see it for himself. In the adaptation to video they trimmed away a story arc like that where Mark was trapped on that planet with multiple doppelgangers from those bad dimensions.
SPOILER WARNING That happens later on, the mark/s he is trapped with are the ones left over from when Angstrom returns to invade Earth with an army of evil invincibles
Except that Angstrom isn't TRYING to teach mark anything. he wants him DEAD. he doesn't care one bit that Mark isn't the villain in this universe. he WANTS to kill him with his own hands. Sending him to a dimension with a villain Invincible would be counter productive; because there would be a very real possibility that EVIL Invincible would kill him. Angstrom is too unhinged to just let Mark die by someone else's hands. He even says so. Why would he want Mark to LEARN anything??

They couldn't hear Alan and Nolan if they tried. As far as that entire prison staff is aware, neither of them ever said a word. Now Nolan may have said "I think I miss my wife out loud." But aln was using telepathy the whole time. They weren't actually cell neighbors you know. They were in fact at opposite ends of the hall. Not like they can just talk to each other through the wall.

I know some show only watchers say this felt like filler, or wasn't as bombastic as season 1. But all this is in the comics, and it's needed for the setup for the show going forward, as many of these things play into it. I also feel like some people are just not getting this show is not about big gory deaths, over the top fights, or shock value like say The Boys. It's about actual character growth.
I love The Boys, the show, not the comic. The comic is horrible imo, but people need to stop thinking Invincible is gonna do what that show does. This has been a almost 1:1 to the comic, and it's glorious to see something adapted so faithfully with only improvements, and slightly changing the order of events to better pace it..
After spending the whole season denying that he’s his father, Mark proved Angstrom right by beating him lifeless (just like Nolan did to him), that Mark is his father’s son. And that’s needed for the fight against Viltrumites
Just like Mark Eve doesn't use her powers to their full potential. She has the ability to kill hundreds at a time. An example would be say turning the wings and engines of an airborne fully loaded commercial airliner to dust. She gets Mark as she's no killer either. Unlike everyone else except for Debbie she knew that Mark wasn't looking for justifications for his actions. She had been justified in killing her siblings who were trying to kill her. However they., Her and Mark didn't deserve the pain and anger . Eve's probably also aware that in the possible coming war Mark will be in the center of it and will probably have to kill again.
Eve not being able to use her full potential is cause she's got a mental block, Mark is simply not old enough yet, It takes Viltrumites hundreds of years to move at say Anissa or Nolans speed. They have to train their bodies like humans do. No one comes out of the womb deadlifting 350lbs.
As someone who has read the comics it's infuriating to know what each is capable of and hear show only people just say they're not trying hard enough. Marks trying everytime he fights someone, he just usually either A) holds back cause he's not a murderer, or B) legit can not handle them. I hope next season this will stop with the he's not trying crap. Cause now he's actually gonna start training like Cecil asked last episode.
@@kingcaesar3693 True. I wasn't sure if Diegesis had seen the Atom Eve special which also explains the mental lock. The comics had a ton of future stories about her lock which I wasn't sure if the series was going to keep or reimagine so I didn't bring it up.

@@jeronomojoe He was pushing himself out of frustration, something that if Viltrumites do increases their abilites. It can permanently affect him if he does that every day. Like running. You start out slow, but over time you can run a marathon no problem if you train hard enough. You seen a small glimpse of that with that moment. And yes, Mark is special in his own way. You'll see later.

The portal eventually reappears for mark and right when he was about to leave, peter shot a web to try and join mark but the portal closed before he could make it in time

Nolan isn't a bad guy, he's just a product of his environment. We all are, where and how we grew up is what shapes us. At some point it's up to your free will, to see if you can and are willing to change. I grew up in a single mother home and I was bullied, ever since elementary kids would tell me I'd probably end up on the news, my family said I'd end up in jail. I was lucky enough to have people in my life who cared and saved me. 5th grade I was put on probation. I grew up learning to understand others and myself, I now know how to control my emotions and I helped so many people. I now have real friends who have never left my side. I'm happy now, because I'm in my 20's I'm stuck and confused on what I want to do next. The influenced and unfortunate are one in the same.

This is also one of the only times Mark was able to let loose. He killed Levy because he assumed this fight was similar to battling other Viltrumites, such as his dad, or Allen the Alien. There really aren’t a lot of other people who can withstand Mark or any Viltrumite’s full strength - which is why when he let loose he assumed Levy would just be gravely injured like a normal being his power-level after his beatdown.

That's kind of a cool concept. Instead of Cate #1 being Cate Prime, she was actually the First Copy. It's obvious and yet somehow not at the same time.
I looked up some info on the Invincible comics years before the show was even a concept. And you know what? Atom Eve was about the most profiled character from those comics after Mark himself and Omni-Man. So we can expect to see Eve featured _a lot_ more from here on out.
Aside from some of the comics' brutality, I don't remember a whole lot of what I looked up back in the day. I _do_ remember a little of what happens with Eve, however. To even bring _that_ much up, though, might be spoiling. 😉

I always hate when people say, "Well there's infinite dimensions so there's just going to be another of him." Just because there are infinite dimensions doesn't mean everything has happened an infinite number of times/ways. You can still have unique people/traits that are not found in any other of those infinite dimensions. There are infinite numbers and yet only 1 will give you the same number multiplied back with itself, for instance.
Except that for Donald it was actually him dying all those times. These flashbacks are NOT the same Angstrom that is in the living room. NONE of those are THIS Angstrom. These re the memories of all the OTHER Angstrom's who's memories he gained from the machine. Now, he's all insane because he thinks it all happened to HIM.

I mean, *can* Mark "do more" with his powers though? His only powers are super speed, super strength, flight and very high durability. Those are pretty average powers I'd say. It's just the level at which they're at that make Mark and other Viltrumites so dangerous. Really the only "different" thing Mark can is punch harder and be more aggressive ("fight like a Viltrumite") which is obviously something he doesn't really wanna embrace.
Angstrom said that in "most other" realities, Mark joined his father. The exact circumstances in which these events transpired are left ambiguous though, and it gets even more so once we find out some things about these alternate Mark's later on...

He does tell her right away there. She get's mad at him for thinking he only broke up with Amber cause of that. Course this is after like 40 issues of Eve trying to just seduce Mark away from Amber, and Mark literally dumps Amber cause he thought Eve was more attractive. It's paints both of them in a bad light imo. Eve slutting it up, and Mark just thinking with what he has between his legs. Of course they mature more as the series goes on, but those first 40 issues of this is more like a teenagers wet dream, then really caring about each other.

So what hurt this season was the several months long gap inbetween the halves. The rollercoaster was forcibly stopped in the middle and it lost a lot of momentum, almost not clearing one of the loops.
And my guess is... because Omni-Man was in Mortal Kombat. They probably timed the release in such way to let people enjoy the character, binge season 1 and then dive straight into season 2 (and buying 2 months of Prime)... except season 2 wasn't ready so they delayed it a bit and shoved out the door only the first half.
Aaaand that hurt the show.
The gap sucked, I agree, but I still love this show, and season 3 won't take nearly as long to be released. Someone should tell them: no more gaps mid-season.
If you look closely at 7:20 when HR comes out of the portal, he hits angstrom with a fortnite sniper rifle. This means fortnite is canon in invincible.
I like how in the fight with angstrom you can still see some of the red blood mixed with the brown. So it made it look like bloody diarrhea 😂😂😂!

What he's done is unforgivable and his death was the only way out with Mark's resources but, Levy has thousands of peoples anger/suffering clouding his mind, how do you fight that when there's only one of you without that.
Levy is a tragic character like dude is just confused because of a freak science accident with way too much access to resources.
The only positive from the whole Angstrom stuff is just that now Mark won't hold back as much and start being more serious which is needed when those Viltrumites come.

Robot uses Rex’s DNA to make a body for himself. Rex then dies later, and to “honor Rex’s memory”, robot renames himself after him.
I think it was Maple who mentioned that if Levi wanted Mark to learn something then he should have sent him to one of those evil mirror universes to see it for himself.
In the adaptation to video they trimmed away a story arc like that where Mark was trapped on that planet with multiple doppelgangers from those bad dimensions.

Except that Angstrom isn't TRYING to teach mark anything. he wants him DEAD. he doesn't care one bit that Mark isn't the villain in this universe. he WANTS to kill him with his own hands. Sending him to a dimension with a villain Invincible would be counter productive; because there would be a very real possibility that EVIL Invincible would kill him. Angstrom is too unhinged to just let Mark die by someone else's hands. He even says so. Why would he want Mark to LEARN anything??
Yeah not only does that happen later, but the show has already proven in these 2 seasons that it’s going to be moving up and down story arcs, such as Rudys and the guardians of the globe, so yeah stop giving spoilers dude. It doesn’t make you special.
