      @@musicbsharpYa gotta do a Part 2. I was unbelievably butt hurt disappointed that there were no snarky, satirical comments about the MM Stingray. While you’re at it, don’t forget to include Kiesel (formerly Carvin) basses when you make a Part 2.

    Hello from Wales, United Kingdom! I play a short scale Fender Mustang bass and have owned it since 2019 when I was in a rock band. Best bass I've ever fingered and had a good time with. Your videos are awesome and am looking forward to seeing more future uploads! 🎸🎸

    Hey 👋 Ellis, as a player of a fretless fender precision I am honored to have the 1st and 5th mentions in your video, which is top shelf btw. Does it take a little bit of practice to intonate properly with confidence, yeah, and if you’re not “ en-ti-re-ly tone-deaf”😎 you can play some dam good music with it. Heavy metal with a pick…ain’t happen’n, but with jazz, blues, fusion, and a lot of rock it sounds phenomenal. And as with any guitar.. the notes are on the instrument… the music is in your hands. Love the video. Keep them coming. Play well.

    • @musicbsharp

    It really was this simple. I played a bunch of basses that went "boom boom boom" but this dusty Jazz bass went "DENG DENG DENG" and to my 17 year old idiot self, it sounded killer. To my 37 year old idiot self, it still sounds killer..

    Ok so I play an Ibanez RG 560 guitar (Rhythm) and have been playing for 35 years. I just recently bought a Schecter C-5 Plus Electric Bass a 5 string. I figure if Im gonna fuck it up may as well go all the way. Got any advice for a 53 year old metal head just learning to play the bass. Oh love the handlebar mustache BTW 😉

    • @musicbsharp
      @musicbsharp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a RG that I absolutely love. Been playing about 30 years myself. I also have a 5-string Ibanez bass. The best tip I can give to you or any other guitarist wanting to get good at the bass is to treat it as a separate instrument. For a long time I just thought of it as a guitar with less strings (something I joke about a lot in these vids). But the bass is an instrument in its own right with its own quirks, its own techniques, tips, tricks, etc. And as a (soon) 43-year-old metal head, I will say that I've found more motivation to get better at the bass from genres other than metal (funk in particular). Metal bass is often (but not always) quite boring to me. I hope you find that at least a little helpful. Enjoy the Schecter!
