Right hand technique is probably the most problematic since it carries a lot of techniques (spiccato, martele, staccato, etc). When it comes to balance it usually comes down to preference and the bow itself. Some violinist I know take their time to select their own specific bow (weight) and if you're in the advance level you will know the difference between the bow weight on the tip vs the middle and the frog (this is somewhat important when performing dynamics mixed in with proper bow technique). Some good bow's can be as expensive as the violin itself! Your video is pretty helpful for the uninitiated and hopefully learning the basics can help them play wonderfully.

it took me years to realize this and this is the very reason why i am sharing this. for us self learners, we actually jump in to the things we “think” is necessary to make us sound good and skip the basics, like vibrato LOL
yes, totally agree with everything you said. wish i knew about this before i bought a bow.
ultimately, having a teacher is the best way to learn if one can afford it. otherwise, it’s years of trial and error if no one is giving us feedback and corrections

Nung wala pa akong teacher akala ko okay na yung bowhold ko, tapos nung nagkaron ng chance na makakilala at matuto mula sa isang teacher, grabe, nakakahiya pala yung bowhold ko. HAHAHA

Same ate. I'm left handed and struggle is real talaga pag dating sa bowing techniques , till now. While Frustrating ang right hand, grabe din yung parang rewarding feeling pag nakukuha mo siya ng tama from time to time. hahahaha.
