    Hearing High Valerian made me remember how English speakers try to speak other non-native languages, such as Russian, Japanese, Italian, or Spanish (or any other). I can't imagine how much time and dedication BRIZZY had to learn High Valerian. So sweet to hear you...

      I'm Malaysian and I see these videos of people going to my country (and they're English people, but there's nothing wrong with that, it's cool!) And they mispronounce words and my parents find it hilarious while i find it funny and kind of annoying, since I'm a translator for the people around me. But, its okay-

    • @iamclassicforlife
      @iamclassicforlife 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LorinSinemDursun "Issi" is plural. "Issa" is singular. And not every sentence needs "issa" at the end, because it's basically an affirmation.
      You wouldn't add an affirmation to a sentence like, "The dragons hear the ships," because it's not needed. You would, however, add an affirmation to, "My name is Daenerys," (e.g.) because it is necessary. You don't say, My name Daenerys," you say, "My name IS Daenerys."
      I hope that makes sense.

    Ahh loved this video! Even if the pronounciation wasn't perfect, who can tell unless they've learned it themselves? It sounded so beautiful and I found the way you pronounced each syllable very helpful. And learning about the cultural elements was very interesting. I've been learning the modern Greek language for the past few years (my husband's Greek) and the way they say "hi" literally means "your health" (yia sou = health your), and it's also the phrase they use to say cheers to one person (yia sou) or a group of people (yia sas).
    My husband and I actually met David Peterson! We were sitting with him and none other than Marc Okrand (the creator of the Klingon language) in a restaurant in Montreal (that's kind of a long story, but long story short we had just attended an event called Langfest). We asked David if he considered himself an artist, since he's crafting languages, and he said that he does! He also said that his favourite part of creating a language is the phonetics. Him and Okrand were very interesting men, but kind of quiet as well (especially Peterson, but he had no choice to talk to us, my husband was directly beside him, and I in front of him haha!).
    You seem to have a gift with learning languages. I'd love to see more videos like this, and even for "real life" languages, that would be awesome. ^^ I think doing a series on unusual languages or less widely spoken languages (such as Greek) would be so fascinating. ❤️

    Very into things like this. There's plenty of material for Sindarin and Quenya. I don't know how much material there is for Mondoshawan, but there's the excuse to dress up like a big gold beetle or wear an orange wig.

    This video is amazing!!! One of my dnd characters has a foreign background so these little phrases are perfect to drop now and then when roleplaying😋
