This test between the 124gr and 147gr Berry's Hybrid Hollow Point is the beginning of a pursuit to find the best performing, affordable 9mm projectile. Both the 124s and 147s were handloaded to velocities which simulate various barrel lengths in handguns.

Those all did significantly better than I thought they would. Based on this, the 147s seem to be the best buy for performance I can think of among the bulk JHP. Seriously, at the same level or better than gold dots / HST and beat out XTPs and other names that cost nearly twice as much at least on bare gel. Good video, it looks like the 147s could probably handle carbine velocities well.

The 147s did perform better than expected; however, the 124s left something to be desired.
