Thank you, R. Herring, for having them on. And for being a tiny slice of acceptance in a shockingly bigoted and ignorant UK media and showbiz landscape. It is always a positive when brilliant compassionate non binary and trans people are seen and heard, it helps outweigh the lies on the one hand, and on the other it offers affirmation and hope to the rest of us out here under daily attack.

Keyworth is Britain's greatest contempory comedian.

The RHLSTP comment section is one of the few corners on the internet that might not turn horrible and toxic at the mention of gender identity and trans people. I hope.

I'm horrified by the discourse around trans people in UK media. The vitriolic attitude reminds me of the worst depths of bigotry and I have a hard time reconciling that with my image of your country at large. You guys have som damn hard work to do and I'm not envious about having to fight that fight.
Trans rights. Trans liberation. F terf bigots. Love from me.

@@lukesball1 Express. Mail. All the red tops. It's almost harder to find a paper which isn't reflecting the "furious of Tunbridge Wells" ultra-conservative mindset.
And, JKR is definitely a bigot. 100%.

@@lukesball1 There is so much on the whole spectrum. Even the Guardian hosted a "gender critical" columnist a while back and posted some shitty editorial. The BBC News website published some awful stuff quite recently. And arent those generally considered at least somewhat left leaning?
Regarding Rowling, I can't say what she believes in her heart of hearts but what she says is ignorant at best and I would say she has shown her true true colours by supporting other peoples hate speech.
If you want I can give you some tips on good video-essayists on the topic. (Not being confrontational, a sincere offer.)

@@lukesball1 Try the Independent, which I guess is more leftwing (although ex-Daily Mail editor Geordie Greig has recently taken over as editor-in chief). Any article on trans issues gets a load of nasty comments from totally naive and inconsiderate people who, just because they are prejudiced seem to think they can dictate what is and isn't regarding gender and always with a very nasty tone. I've seen plenty of nasty comments on rightwing news sites too over the years.

why do we call transphobes terfs when many aren’t linked to radical feminism at all?

Great to hear people speaking their truth! Power and love to all - we're all just trying to figure life out - better to do it with kindness and empathy.

Since I didn't have much "active choosing" about my orientation it seems prudent for me to not have neither opinions nor objections about others, and definitely not the latter. Kindness empathy, respect and politeness surely must be better?

There wasn't anybody for her to relate to or look upto on the tv in the 90's or 2000's?? She follows this up by saying
"I didn't tune into any of it"
Well there's your problem dear. It was all there. Open your eyes and ears and you would've stood a better chance

I'm hoping the comments are kind to Sarah too 🥰 I'd def be crushed a bit if some RHLSTP fans turned out to be transphobes.
