This is one of my guilty pleasure movies. There is no telling how many times I have watched this movie in my lifetime. Beverly Hills, what a thrill! 😎👍
I love this movie to the moon and back. It’s one of the earliest films I can remember being exposed to when I was a child. I can quote it for days on end. Fantastic movie. “Come on down, come on down. It’s cookie time. It’s cookie time.”
This is one of my favorite movies when I was younger and I watched it all the time and now I am older and a mom of a son in the Boy Scouts i still love this movie and can watch it over and over. Its just a fantastic fun movie ❤❤❤
Troop Beverly Hills is one of my favorite movies. Phyllis Nefler kind of reminds me of my mom she loved shopping and had the same taste as Phyllis. She passed away 4 years ago but we used to love watching this together.😊
I think that was very inciteful commentary by Shelley Long, that the Girl Scouts of the USA did not want to confuse their image. In fact, I think that the creation of "The Wilderness Girls" is even better satire that alludes to the turf wars in the actual Girl Scouts. So that all the Moms are in the theaters nodding their heads, "I know what they're talking about." Because in a comedy, I think that satire is better than authenticity. I think that authenticity actually ruins a comedy, and instead should be left for documentaries or dramas.
I always loved this movie, Shelley Long was hilarious, and there were a few future stars in the cast, including Jenny Lewis, Carla Gugino and Tori Spelling. "It's cookie time!"
@@angelaholmes8888 I'm still not exactly sure what they meant by grooming in Phyllis' handbook, but it probably had very little to do with getting pedicures. If Velda could see how Tiffany gave Emily money for the patches, and threw Chica a birthday party, maybe she wouldn't have been so mean. I doubt it though. Maybe some of the patches were a little unorthodox too, but the friendship patch that Tiffany got and the fire prevention patch that another girl got seems like patches the Girl Scouts would earn so why not the Wilderness Girls, too?
@@katepustay304 Velda called them weak for helping an injured rival. I doubt she would have cared about the girls helping out fellow Wilderness Girls in need. She has this weird compulsion to feel strong and in control at all times, at any cost.
Leaving "Cheers" afforded Shelley the opportunity to do films like this one, "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks and others. Having to commit to a weekly TV series schedule would've meant turning down those roles.
@@robbernath *Long left "Cheers" in 1987 to pursue a career in film, appearing in movies such as "Outrageous Fortune," "The Money Pit," and "Troop Beverly Hills." Although her film career was not as successful as her television career, Long continued to act in both television and film throughout the 1990s and 2000s.*
@@robbernath *Why did Shelley Long's acting career go south after she left Cheers? Was it due to bad judgment, bad management, a bad reputation (she did have the "difficult" label by then), or a combination?* *I think she fell victim to what alot of actors and actresses do when they become famous in one medium- they believe that fame and success will carry over to another medium. She got famous on TV, then she quit because she wanted to make movies. She just wasn't as successful as a movie actress as she was a TV actress- even though I like some of her movies and think they're classics- like “Troop Beverly Hills” and the “Brady Bunch” spoofs in the 90's.*
Such terrible male comments here and why? Its simply b/c hollywood stopped making smaller movies, especially women centered stories. 80s comedies are something special also-- we don’t have fun comedies anymore. She was a star and deserved to be treated w respect! Hello Again, Outrageous Fortune, Troop, Brady Bunch movies are all hillarious comedy classics
@@Notturnoir "male comments"? Huh? More like truthful comments. She left a great, popular very high-paying role (I'm sure) searching for something better - more fame and fortune. And, as we all know, she never found it. Sure, she made some decent movies but they were never the caliber of "Cheers" and will never be remembered as a movie as "Cheers" will be as a historical television comedy series (which she chose to exit).
I loved this movie as a child but "shopping is our greatest skill" is so cringe to me now eventhough it is satire since the girls and/or the scout leader is from Beverly Hills.
This was my FAVORITE movie when i was a kid!!! Now i want to watch it with my daughter! ❤❤❤
This film is pure CAMP! I love it endlessly!!
I loved this movie so much growing up. “We’re the troop from Beverly Hills. Shopping is our greatest skill.”😊

i adore this movie and i was 1 when it came out.
Phyllis' methods may have been unorthodox, but it's clear she cared for the girls.
Yes exactly ❤

A Request classic!

Shelly looks delicious 😋😋
