#1 would have to be the 4 piece season 4 arena gear and 4 piece tier 6 gear at the end of TBC. Having all the set bonuses from both sets at the same time, it was pretty broken.
This is what I loved about old wow, I know there are downsides to it and having someone with a specific weapon as a requirement to down a boss can also be considered gatekeeping. But I just love the synergy of these items, and let weaker geared people still be incredibly useful by getting them these weapons.

I feel like every second person is running around with titles like Hand of A'dal which have been unobtainable since 2008, that was 15 years ago. There are now people playing this game who couldn't get those titles or items because they weren't even born when they were available.
@@frtzkng so true. I like to run around with my Marshal tittle, which only my warlock can use. But my dh uses often hand of a'dal or champion of the naaru for the giggles. specialy that last. Or tittles like Justicar that are also hard to get nowadays, tho i think thAt one is still avaliable?

@@josejuanandrade4439Well the fact we can timewalk with chromie time yet can’t ACTUALLY timewalk to vanilla (or tbc/wotlk’s vanilla/pre-cata landscape on kalim/eastern kingdoms) is dumb as hell. who cares if vanilla didn’t have a set “story”? it had its own quests, layout, lore, etc. but that would be too difficult for them. 🙄 and they want to funnel people into their various classic servers.
The two Champion swords showcase just how insane some Vanilla items could be. The Khorium version is a full 12 levels higher in requirement - with the same proc. Exactly the same proc. 120 strength for 30 seconds is super strong. Its also why they nerfed Vanilla flasks and potions too going into the expansions - they were way too strong. Some Vanilla items are still almost as good as Wrath ones - the +30 ranged hit rating scope, for example is only marginally lower in stat budget then +40 crit or haste ones - and 20 levels behind!
I remember stormherald. Lots of arms warriors using that in arena, the proc wasnt super reliable, but could be absolutely nasty. If I remember right, combat rogues had a talent to make one handed maces have a chance to proc too, stuns for days.
It was crazy for arms warriors when combined with the mace specialization in the arms spec. Had a stun proc. Rogues and warriors ran arena back during early tbc because of the mace stun procs... I don't remember exactly when but i remember the switch to armor pen as the mace specialization buff was a pretty big nerf at the time
never messed with this stuff while raiding back in the vanilla days but it was still cool to see these in the game, there were plenty of people back then who couldn't raid so obtaining a decent blue or epic of any kind was a big deal
maybe for a top 10 also about crafting you could do crafted dragonflight gear/weapons? although it might be better to wait until the end of the xpac for that
only needed to be a master Axe smith to make the annihilator axe, once it was crafted anyone with 1h axe skill could equip it, i know because my pally tank would use it in classic and he was herb/engineer
I really love the dept of every topic touch in this channel, I love your videos, I have some suggestions like, History of first in the world, toching every class usefulness in that fight, and a top 10 weapons per expansion will be nice, we have top 10 weapons in general, but divided for expasion could bring more info and history, this video is almost a top 10 vainilla crafted weapons
I'd like to see a video essay on whether obscure combinations of stuff that can oneshot bosses unexpectedly or buff DPS by over 100% etc. - 'fun' that Blizzard apparently likes to remove - should actually be allowed to stay in the game. A discussion on the pros and cons of having stuff like that from someone as well versed in historic WoW as yourself and your team.
There’s plenty of neat attachments you can add to crafted items now in DF that are pretty fun and neat if you like that unique and fun stuff. I personally enjoy Shadowwreathe
Nice list, but i kinda miss some of the new effects you can get on your Weapons via Embelishments in DF. Jeah, it is nothing a Weapon comes with automatically, but they are kinda nasty to, at least some of them ^^
I would love to see classic plus with more recipes for stuff like this, pre bis crafted options and maybe some phase 1-2 bis items for classic, more op crafted stuff for lower levels, and maybe recipes that require previous drops, like if you get the fang set you can upgrade it at level 30 and 40/50 etc Making more use out of lower level enchanting and crafting materials to make more twink ish items for pvp brackets and just to overhaul how gearing is handled like later expansions you can buy your alts gear off the AH to level into, Classic never had that as much. The pieces should really be tailored for items the leveling or dungeon experience don't provide, like the Scarlet gear covers a couple of pieces, so at that level for mail/plate make the other slots. It'd make crafting more of a thing also collecting all the recipes from weird places and having recipes upgrade of other ones (preferably those with high drop chances, having a 1% drop upgrade into a bis item would be frustrating if done too often)
I used to run Arenas with that exact same setup. Windfury procs could proc the Stormherald stuns, so it was really freaking strong despite TBC heavily encouraging Enhancement Shamans to go dual-wield.
Phantom Blade is not one of a kind tho, there's also the epic BoE sword called Dazzling Longsword which is pretty nice to pair with the Phantom Blade as MH and Dazzling as OH

Why do youtubers keep insisting on using the ''new'' stat squished tooltips for the items in their videos instead of the original tooltips when they are so easily available? Seeing Phantom blade with 2-5 dmg and 1.3 DPS is just silly. So annoying, especially when they want to showcase some ''OP'' procc but its ruined by the squished tooltip with a proc barely having any stats lol

This is what I loved about old wow, I know there are downsides to it and having someone with a specific weapon as a requirement to down a boss can also be considered gatekeeping. But I just love the synergy of these items, and let weaker geared people still be incredibly useful by getting them these weapons.

the other thing that made stunherald op in tbc was that it had 3.8 speed, it hit really hard compared to the other weapons which had 3.6 speed

my warrior still got 2 Dragonstrike and Stunherald in bags from old BC. mace spec and that 2hand was more than fun in arena
