As the assassin Nobili family and their allies gushed in their new wealth, celebrating the past year’s victories and the murder they thought complete, we planned. Then when the enemy left their guard down and gathered for a Christmas feast in their ancestral village we struck. Diverting a small stream, so it would flood the land surrounding the village, we stationed what was left of our family waiting for a sign from God. The weather changed and the deep cold of that Christmas Eve night froze the water, making it impossible to walk much less fight in armor. We came forth from our hiding places and attacked. Still outnumbered but with precision, preparation, and a sign of righteous approval the battle began. Wearing spike shoes so as not to slip on the ice we took no prisoners. No one survived! This is a true story of the Federici family. So complete, so well planned, so utterly terrible was this vengeance, that it impressed all warring factions, that no retribution was allowed by either Pope, Emperor or Republic.

Because of this and despite her marriage to another noble, she was denied possession of the Castel even though she bore a son. The Federici can be traced back to the 1100s, but some historians believe that they can be traced back to France and thru the Queen to Louis III. This speculation is interesting, but the Federici have an amazingly rich history. Supporters of primarily the Dukes of Milan and the Holy Roman Emperor, my line nevertheless was granted the Castel in Ossana by the Prince-Bishop of Trento and introduced by the Doge of Venice. The story concerning the Massacre of the Nobili family was what I posted since the song seemed to fit so well. Hope you are doing well.
