So when your teammate is hit, his progress is reset which partially resets the Teams progress, but it does not affect your progress in any way, you will still capture the Zone in 60 seconds even if your teammate is sitting there being reset constantly. It's a gimmick to improve their torpedo launch angles. The torpedoes are still fired exactly down the green launch line, but they take an S path to get there.
Not only does the Takahashi have a 5 second longer reload than the Mogami with the same number of guns.....the Mogami actually has *better* guns as well. They do more damage, have better shell arcs, and even have better HE pen, allowing them to pen 38mm plating if you take IFHE (not that I'd recommend IFHE on the Mogami, but the potential still exists).
They are, as far as I can tell, and unlike what our Saltmine Overlord claims, not the same guns. IIRC, the Mogami has 155 mm guns, which are the same as the ones on the tier VII cruiser of the new line, the Omono. From the tier VIII up, the new line has 15 cm guns.

I think you're a bit harsh on people for the whole 'throw the game by winning harder' thing. It's a genuinely hard problem: 1. There's a very specific window in which it makes sense to rest on your laurels. If your advantage is too small, then the outcome is still in doubt, and not pressing your advantage just cedes the initiative to the enemy. But if your advantage is big enough, you've got it in the bag, and you might as well farm some damage and kills before it ends. Judging these windows is tough, and I've seen people lose games by getting it wrong in both directions - running for the corner, confident they will win on points if they just survive, only to lose because the enemy flipped a cap a few seconds sooner than expected, or coming in to enjoy the spoils of victory only to have one last plucky survivor pull a 5-on-1 miracle. 2. There's a game theory/prisoner's dilemma aspect to it: 'We have the ship and point advantage. If all of us hold what we've got, we'll very probably win. On the other hand, if all of us attack together, our chances of victory are not as high but still good. On the gripping hand, if half of us attack and the other half stay here, the enemy will kill the attackers and then /they/ will have the point and ship advantage. So how confident am I that *all* my teammates will do the smart thing?'
Oh, God. Old Yeller being an obscure reference it a fucking crime to my sanity. That book got me through two different reports, both of which I didn't even read the book for!
You're correct Jingles, it isn't a bad ship, nor is it a great ship. Calling this thing a 'bad ship' would insult the bad ships, this line has all the cons of a CL, with all the cons of a CA, with none of the pros of either. My comparison usually is with the T8s, because of the current ops, and if I want to run a Japanese light cruiser, my first choice is Akizuki (yes the DD), my second is the 155 Mogami, and my third is the 4-10 Harekaze (another DD that I don't even have), otherwise if I'm running a CL, it will be from another nation. A few of the guys I run with tend to call the Shimanto the Sh*t-manto, FYI the 155 Mogami, vs the Shimanto, has decent torps (faster, less punchy, less range, with poor angles), the same number of slightly larger guns, that have a 5 sec advantage on reload, with admittedly worse traverse, better amid-ships plating, enough to bounce 381s, better rudder shift, a better turning circle, yes 5,400 less HP (less of an issue with the better maneuverability and plating), and better concealment by 600m,
Thanks for featuring me. Your pronunciation was perfect. I dont mind it tho. Its really akward for foreigners so its jelly online😉

He's not an ugly yeller dog. He's a pretty yeller dog!
Oh, God. Old Yeller being an obscure reference it a fucking crime to my sanity. That book got me through two different reports, both of which I didn't even read the book for!
14:40 Jingles, that trade is in fact not in favor of the enemy LOL
You're correct Jingles, it isn't a bad ship, nor is it a great ship.
Calling this thing a 'bad ship' would insult the bad ships, this line has all the cons of a CL, with all the cons of a CA, with none of the pros of either.
My comparison usually is with the T8s, because of the current ops, and if I want to run a Japanese light cruiser, my first choice is Akizuki (yes the DD), my second is the 155 Mogami, and my third is the 4-10 Harekaze (another DD that I don't even have), otherwise if I'm running a CL, it will be from another nation. A few of the guys I run with tend to call the Shimanto the Sh*t-manto,
FYI the 155 Mogami, vs the Shimanto, has decent torps (faster, less punchy, less range, with poor angles), the same number of slightly larger guns, that have a 5 sec advantage on reload, with admittedly worse traverse, better amid-ships plating, enough to bounce 381s, better rudder shift, a better turning circle, yes 5,400 less HP (less of an issue with the better maneuverability and plating), and better concealment by 600m,
@17:00 zig zagging torps are cool.
Fun fact: When he was young, the Mighty Jingles cried while watching the movie "Old Yeller".
"Swamp Germans"? Oh, Jingles, you be so funny.
