Since I can not recommend a book that can easily fall apart, here are the alternatives. The books I love about Japanese culture and folklore:

Damn that sucks. Looks like a pretty cool book to be treated like a magazine, seems more like a maufacturing problem and the company has no idea what they are doing.

Oh no! Just saw your thumbnail and had to check your video out. I've noticed that a lot of full colored books with glossy pages come apart easily. I had one that I couldn't bring myself to open, because it made the same noises as yours. Probably while trying to utilize all the space, publishing houses have to make certain changes, and that loosens the spine? Or perhaps the adhesive doesn't stick that well, because of the smoothness of the pages? I'd suggest going to a book binder near you to save those books. Don't give up on them yet!
