- DAVID CASSIDY Best Of David Cassidy (1991 Japanese only 13-track promotional sample CD album issued to radio stations and reviewers ahead of the actual release. This album includes songs that David recorded in 1979 for an album that was never released.
Details provided by John Beland: A track John did with the late David Cassidy originally recorded by Steely Dan called "Dirty Work." John did all the guitars on this and Eagles member Timothy Schmidt played bass and did the harmonies. Carlos Vega played drums. It was produced by his dear friend, the late Ken Mansfield who passed away just before last Christmas. Recorded at Larrabee Studios in Hollywood in 1979. David had vocal chops and was a very talented guy and a joy to work with.

So this was for a promo for a CD in 1991 that was never released? Which songs are from 1979?
Jersey Girl David was not very happy about the release of this CD when it was released in 1991 in Japan. It includes songs that David recorded in 1979 for an album that was never released, and is no way a "Best of" album. David said that these songs were not what he was standing for in 1991, and therefore he would rather not see them released at this time.
@@AthenaCamberos thank you. I agree it is not a "best of" album at all. I can understand why he didn't want it released. But I still love the songs because they are David.
Jersey Girl I completely agree. I honestly think any song/album David has produced is the “best”. It doesn’t matter what he sings, whether it’s Christmas music, or tv theme songs 😂. He’s just mesmerizing and puts his own special touch to what he does. I just love him. He is one of the most underrated entertainers and deserves more recognition than he has received. People need to see beyond his Keith Partridge image, and see him for who he truly is.
