Andy be proud of your kids they are good help and a big asset to the farm today these kids don't want anything to do with manual labor your son really loves to be out working with you and the guys for the comments you get from the people complaining about how hard the kids are working they have never worked on a farm everybody gets there hands dirty I know I was raised on a dairy farm myself
Dam. Glad you’re so educated Andy. Imagine the cost it would be. If you had to farm all your repairs out lol. When they say be a farmer and live off the land. Never tell you about the headaches cost up keep breakdowns etc stay blessed.
When I was their age I didn’t have a choice but get out to the barn if I wanted to go out on the weekend! We never had a shop to work in but learned a lot about working together in any weather or situation and I’m glad for that! I hope your as patient off camera as when it’s on! Your a great teacher and watching your videos makes me think there just might be hope for the future!
that was a really super video, those kids have a really good teacher, they're going to learn a lot, and be a good asset to the farm and your teaching them good work ethics, great job
Andy, I think it's awesome how you let those two young men get hand's on.😊 Just like you was looking for your ruler and Junior went to get his because he knows how to use and read a ruler. 👏
Right now I have a crew of 16 guys working for me. If I could replace them all with 8-10 kids like Andrew, I think we would get more work done and to a better quality.
Andy, put some anti-seize on that stub shaft, clutch discs wear and it will be much easier to repair the next time. Since there's a pin that locks that hub on, no need to worry about it "slipping off" like many would think. We call it "burning" them in while letting them slip. We always took a marker, marked a line and checked to see if they moved any. JR almost needs a bit larger hands for that impact. He still did a good job. Great video as always, cheers :)
Wondering if the disc spring lost some of its temper when it got hot and Andrew poured a bottle of cold water on it when the failure was noticed? It might be wise to replace the spring when clutch material is changed? If the spring is weak it will probably cause faster wear and shorter clutch life than when the unit was new? Keep up the good work! JIM 🥰
When I used to do those slip clutches, I put a line with spray paint on the clutch pack that would indicate how much slippage, and if any you have by the spray paint line, not lining up on the plates just a thought
@@FarmingFixingFabricating -- Well, I notice that in a lot of farming equipment the passing of straw, grain, or non-mineral stuff wears down steel to the point where it has to be replaced or built up. Some plastics/rubbers resist this at least as well as the steel.
I would love to see Andrew and his sisters take over the farm when there old enough to not saying his sisters aren't old enough because they probably are.
The hard part is getting Andy to step down. It's harder than you think to give up something you've been doing all of your life. I sold my maintenance company to my employees last year. And still work part time.
@steveb6103 I'm the same way with my garden my grandfather has a field that was used for hay back when they had the farm my grandfather ran it with a 1942 john deer model B and they also had a 2 other john deer tractors on the farm. The motor on the B is froze up it also has an old sickle bar mower with as well as an old side delivery rake. My grandfather gave my father the field so my father gave me the field that's where my farm is going when I get my driver's license I'm going to go into the beef industry. I already have a Kubota b2320 I've been looking at farm Equipment.
"Most of the viewers probably work on these all the time" haha.... I think most of the people on this platform think they have worked on stuff because they have seen pictures and videos of them on the Internet
You better get a sheild for the cutting blades on the choppers and the combines as well and don't get me started on the tetters and mergers... Ohhh boy..! We just can't seem to keep enough stupid people alive... Were running out of politicians and government hierarchy....

I remember spending summer in a haymow . Sweltering heat , bale after bale . Then drink about two gallons of water from the hose ! Lol
Those kids work more hours then most men.
Careful children are learning how to work. This is good!!!
Andrew is turning out to be a great farm asset. Glad your teaching him the repairs as I’m sure he will operate the equipment with pride Thx, Andy

Reminding me with this video to tighten my brush hog cutter tomorrow. Good video.

Did the same job on my little JD513 rotary cutter today as well. Getting her ready for food plots. Burning your clutch is what we call it

Andy I think you’re fine without the shield as long as you remove the safety sticker. 😂😂

Really nice video Buddy! Greeting from Brazil! 🇧🇷🇧🇷

I like that idea
Did you get that mini sledge from hobo freight? I have one and it’s my go to pecker
Nice
That boy should be watching everything you do so he can fix it next time.😮
Nothing like teaching the young men how to work with your hands instead of them holding a cell phone in their hands
Well.......another job or two completed!
So much for using the jack for the cutting edges. They must use cheap cutting edges you just got those buckets😀
It’s a wear part
Air wrench inside a bucket, thats got to be noisy, love the ear protection. Not to worry Andy been there and done it many times.
How’s the Daytona floor jacks? I have a few old Napa ones which are probably Lincoln brand. Lookin to maybe get one of those if worth it.
Good
You might want to paint the scoop of the loader. The right kind of paint can let soil clip away rather than "polishing" the steel.
?

Looks like the gear box on top of the shredder is cracked
Nah

Working on a rusty frame. Is POR 15 or fluid film better?
just weld them together, who needs stinkin slip clutches with 200hp on the front,,, LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣👌👌
Hopefully some type of hearing protection is being worn as loss of hearing not something to look forward to as a person ages
What????
😂😂
👏👏👏👏
Watching you disassemble the clutch there was no plate on the outside but you have assembled it correctly now
The plate was just wore out and gone
👍
It rains every day
The jack handle is taller than Bubbs…thought you said he was corn fed?? More like free range??
How is that bucket working for you?
Really good
Better dress that punch before the safety Sams go off about it chipping into your ungoggled eyes.
I hope you have your son Chuck Toyo, and that thing got really hot remember
did your help that run over your tractor flat the tires on the ford?
Andrew is a chip off the old block
I think three gall could do it better, sarah, elex, and Charlene?
I thought it was two men and a girl? Buy the hair do😂.
It’s Charlotte🤣
Hey what happened to Sid?
I was expecting the boy to be Nate
