Bernie has enhanced Sky’s F1 coverage exponentially just on this first race weekend alone. I’ve learnt more this weekend listening to Bernie‘a insights than for a long long time.
Literally said "cat and mouse" to every single maneuvere , there's a reason she's sacked.

@@sonsofblackwoodmc4570 She's inexperienced and not used to speaking on air in front of millions, so obviously and inevitably she's going to trip over words and repeat phrases. Live speaking like that isn't natural and everyone sucks at first. Look at how wooden Naomi was initially and now she's much better and more fluid as she's gotten more comfortable. Her valuable insight is what you should be listening to anyway, not how she phrases things. Also, she was never sacked at all from what I could find, she willingly left and opened up her own consultancy firm and has now been hired by Sky.
It's great that Bernie wasn't just there for 1 show. She gave us a great insight into some of the techy stuff that the former drivers don't really know about. Thanks for adding her to your crew.

I agree - during the Austrian Sprint Race grid-walk, Bernie & Ted were paired up, and it must have made some teams nervous as they were pointing at various things and talking into their microphones, it was awesome.
Thoroughly enjoyed Bernie's contribution this weekend. But please Sky, turn up her microphone, it's much quieter than Crofty and Brundle.
Before the race she was easy understand. During the race I could hardly understand her. It's something with the mic coupled with me not being a native speaker. Hopefully they'll fix the mic before the next race.

Totally agree her credibility and authority is instantly apparent. This weekend has been reminiscent of the time Jurgen Klopp went on Monday night football - I felt thick afterward as he just took everyone and viewers and all to school. That peak behind the curtain is essential

I also have been watching F1 since early 90's, I totally agree with you. Since SkyF1 got Crofty and Martin, I won't watch a GP by anyone else. Now, their whole team is solid, and with Bernie (at the Austrian GP) it's been brought to another level.

Thought the addition of Bernie has been exceptional. Her insight into what she would be thinking at certain points is really interesting. Delighted with her addition.

Probably able to give insight, however sound level, accent, pronunciation and poor articulation makes it very hard, if not impossible, to make out what's said.

Bernie is Sky F1's best signing since Martin Brundle. You've finally signed someone to your team based upon their knowledge and their ability to explain in a way that most viewers can understand, instead of signing someone based upon being a 'big name' or how many diversity boxes they tick.

I like the engineers the most. They're very clear and technical with their input, which I appreciate more than just the colorful commentary. Tbh I can just turn the commentary off sometimes bc it's just old dudes joking around and I don't really care. Id like to see more like Bernie brought in that bring current technical insight rather than some guessing old dude that probably should know based on their time in the sport, but doesn't.
A pleasure to listen to and to watch. So much knowledge delivered with a great accent. I can see why Bernie was hired !

Very welcome, but Sky needs to mix her voice in better. Because of the higher pitch, it often gets drowned out by the cars.

My 11 year old daughter was so excited to hear Bernie. Both being native Fermanagh ladies. First weekend she sat and watched the whole race with me.
Getting someone who used to work in the industry is a great move. We got to learn everything that happens behind the scene.

She is excellent. I have seen some weird hate from what I assume are new F1 fans which makes sense since they don't know a thing about racing in general. This is the best idea Sky has had with bringing someone one with actual knowledge and insight into REALLY what goes on. Fantastic stuff Bernie!
I honestly couldn't imagine a better addition. Adding a more logical head to squash the Sky F1 teams' sometimes kooky theories can only be a good thing 😂

I agree, the Wikipedia page on her is impressive. I kind of wonder if the teams get a little nervous when she's around with a microphone, telling the world some F1 insights that other pundits don't know of. She's awesome!
Her insights are very interesting, to have an experienced strategist do commentary is excellent !
My only critical comment is sometimes it’s challenging to understand her, but most of the time I do understand what she’s saying.

She was great, great insights, welcomed addition.
Yeah she's brilliant but as others have said you need to sort her mic levels out during racing.
She is great. But I couldn’t understand a lot of what she was saying during the race.
She is giving some good insights.
But sometimes she is difficult to understand, which seems to be a mix of her microfone just not beeing loud enough and her accent/dialect.
Enjoyed her drip feeding information about the tyres among other things.

Ted doesn't do every race (hasnt for years) and did say last race that he would'nt be at Saudi. It's the same with Martin - not everyone does every race.

I like Damon but wasn't particularly happy with him for the few times he interrupted her to say something unrelated.
Damon didn't seem particularly happy or at ease throughout this race weekend..perhaps it was just being in Saudi that had a downer effect on him...
Bernies insights this last weekend were great. A fantastic addition to the team! (just please dont fire Ted!)
Another great addition in a similar type of role would be Blake aka BRRAKE F1 - also another former engineer, this time from Red Bull.
