Thank you for this. I have been put off in trying out JUCE because I am very hesitant to install Visual Studio. I prefer VSCode but there is little to no info on CMake with JUCE. This is certainly a gateway for me. I am on Windows BTW.
BEEEEEEEN!! How are you!? I'm starting a JUCE project of my own and have been considering using CMake instead of the Projucer. Really cool seeing you here! Been a long time since our days at ASU! Would love to touch base sometime.
still trying to make my first synth plugin :( the amount of power i want in it seems Impossible when you don’t know any coding. i have the designs and i know what i need the knobs to do tho
Don't rush yourself! Building a JUCE plugin and working with C++ can be frustrating, just know you'll always solve the problem you're currently having, some problems just take a little longer to figure out :)
Thanks for this! Question: is it sensible or folly for someone completely new to coding to start learning audio plugin design with CMake, or is Projuicer a better choice for complete noobs?
Josh's JUCE videos were actually my first intro to any kind of C++ programming. Once I realized I actually needed to learn C++ as a language before I could make plugins, I found this series, I really recommend it: th-cam.com/video/1MKhigIml3E/w-d-xo.html

great vid, would it be possible to show us from which resources you self thought yourself to learn C++?
I can really recommend The Cherno on TH-cam

@@benvining2396 guess I'm on the right track
i wish there was a program that let us just drag and drop and draw to create a synth and was actually modernized and had deep power
that sounds like Max MSP?
@@benvining2396 wow that is some of the coolest stuff ever i definately gotta try that
wait is this the guy that made Disarray ? u gotta be kidding me
No, I was just using that Jucer project as an example. The Disarray developer is named Aaron Leese.
