  • This beautiful 1968 Corvette in a perfect Black Onyx finish, belongs to Roy Vega of Ocala.
He's the third owner of this flared and cammed Vette with a 383 under the hood, although plans call for a 572 Big Block generating 435 horsepower.
Los Amigos Body Shop of Long Beach did the car bodywork and paint in California. They painted the car a deep and glossy Black Onyx per the second owner's instructions, even though it came off the assembly line sporting a British Green paint job, which was the most popular color for that model year.
The transmission is the original 4-speed box it was born with, and the original soft top is still under the convertible hatch. A new black canvas top will be installed sometime in the future.
One of the previous owners also added 1969 factory side pipes that sound incredible and look so right on this car.
Roy drives and enjoys his '68 Corvette as much as possible.
    Thank you for watching! 🙂👍🏻

The ultimate stanced car in the business. When the C3 sits right, it crushes the competition.

Very tasteful mild custom! I’d be building a 427 for it just for kicks. Itsa Big Block that revs like a small block bcuz it’s internally balanced. And…it matches the L-88 Hood! Rare AC Ragtop, too!

Love the car! And I like the factory side pipes but side mount headers would add to the look of the car and perform plus sound better with low restrictive mufflers. But sweet ride! And if that is the way you like it run with it. And enjoy the ride! 🤓👍

This is how we enjoy our cars here in the sunshine state. I have to ask, where are there cars? Im in Tampa, I cant tell you the last time a seen a C3 on the streets. I know your active on the club and show scene. If I had to guess I would say there cars are hiding in garages around Ocala area. Another great video. Thank you and the owner for sharing. Take care, stay safe out there.
C & S did a video a few days ago that I thought was a great topic. One I have thought about before. Do you see a divide in the corvette world? Meaning C8 owners are not the same as other generations. My bellief is the older generations are more purist and respect what the corvette stood for. I feel most of the newer C8 dont experoence and truly enjoy the corvette name like past models. Im not sure if its changing because of modern money like bitcoin and so on. C8 owners appear to enjoy thier cars, but I dont think they understand what they have. Meaning it will just be like a toyota camry in a few years and dispose of it. No attachment like us older owners have. The loyality to the brand. What do you think? Sorry about the rant. LOL
Remember im a C4 convertible owner.

Most of the cars I’ve featured on 76vette are from Marion and Citrus counties, but I also go to events outside the area for variety. Besides, every Corvette has a story.
We’re not a club, but a group of C3 owners. So no dues, T-shirts, or club politics.
I guess there’s a “divide” but you’ll always find that in any group of enthusiasts. And with the internet, it’s easy for trolls to try to stir up controversy for the hell of it.
As far as other Corvette generations, I love them all. As a matter of fact, a C8 driver a few weeks ago, was flashing his lights as we crossed paths on a road near my house. I wave at all Corvettes.
As a side note, I think the Corvette wave might’ve originated because the C3 lights are so slow, by the time they’re fully opened so you can flash them, the other car has already gone by. Lol 😆
As far as older generations, respect has to be redefined considerably. Yes, there are some well kept older beauties out there, as well as many beautifully restored Corvettes. But all you have to do is look through classified ads to see Corvettes that have been literally destroyed by, I am guessing, older generations.
Having said that, the “collectible Corvette” is, for the most part, an invention. AFAIK, GM has always built cars so people can get from point A to B, not as “garage queens.”
And speaking of C8s, i really like them, but I cannot afford one, and frankly, I tend to like C7s a bit more.
But anyway, yes, people who buy C8s _should_ enjoy them, as much as we enjoy every other generation. And I think we should focus on that word: Enjoyment.
Finally, and paraphrasing Will Rogers, “I never met a Corvette I did not like.”
