Thumbs up for using a jig.
I see a lot of guys suffer through putting multiple parts together by starting from scratch for each one.
If you are doing somthing more than twice make a jig, fixture or some kind of aid to hold the parts.
If you have room keep the jig becase you will be surprised how many times you have to make more of somthing.

Hey Phil. I know this vid is 3 years old but . . . maybe these comments will help someone else. I made 6 of these too. Also bought two of the Stronghold tools clamps made for a fixture table. Mine is a CertiFlat Fablock with 16mm holes & 1/2 threaded. I fabricated my fixture clamps the same way, but didn't tilt them forward like you. I should have done so, but they still work ok. Have discovered 2 important things in the 2 years I've been using the cheap custom made ones and the Certiflat table. 1) The Harbor Freight custom made ones are less rigid than the stronghand tools product. But they are strong enough for 99% of what I need to do. Mine do lean back a tad in the holes but do ok. We aren't bending steel with these things. They are fine. Also, remove but don't throw away the plastic protectors to hold better. Keep them since you may want them for something like aluminum or wood (non-marring). Yes, I use my fixture table for wood projects too. 2) after 3 years of use the holes get debris and weld BB's and slag in there. Tough getting into some of my holes . Answer: along with routine maintenance of table, clean out those holes, debur them and treat them with anti spatter so that stuff doesn't stick to the inside of the holes.

I don’t buy anti-spatter anymore, too expensive. Dollar Store or Dollar General El Cheapo Spray Veggie Oil does a great job. Observation: Never have I beat on or cut on anything resting on my welding table. Great way to gouge if a grinder slips or beating can cause warping.

Forgot to add. On the 7th Day God created the vice and anvil for these tasks.

Why not just grind the bar of the clamp down so it just fits into the hole? That way you dont need to weld on the bolt. They look fat enough to fill the hole?

You really want a ROUND peg to fit in that round hole on the welding table....... the tigher fit, the better...... I'm sure you COULD just grind down the bar to fit..... but probably won't be as secure.

the clamp works by tension, is that why you slant it forward?

Exactly why. You can kind of see it in the video.. .when I go to clamp something down, they kind of stand themselves back up a little, binding themselves into the holes... nice and solid.... These have been amazing so far! :)
