    Atlanta is a beautiful city that grows on you. Probably the worst thing here is the traffic, otherwise it's a great city and I'm happy to have transplanted..

    Here's my ATL Guide: Here's my ATL Guide: When you get here, get you some Hattie Marie's, some Annie Laura's, Mary Macs, The Real Milk and Honey, or Roc South, get some Food Terminal, go to Rosa's Pizza before 4, get some Bahel Ethiopian, get you some Ike's cafe, get breakfast at Highland Bakery or Bantam and Biddy, or Gutbusters if you on the go, Cafe Intermezzo is worth a visit and you should get a wrap from Tassilis Raw Reality. Go to Morellis for ice cream, Insomnia for cookies, Sublime for doughnuts.
    For clubs go to Edgewood Avenue where K Michelle and 2 Chainz got they spots and pick your choice. Also there's Revery, OurBarAtl, Lacura and Code. For strip clubs if you like acrobatics and tricks go to Magic City, if you just like thick women go to Blue Flame, Blaze or Pin Ups. If you like women of all different sizes and types, go to Babe's. If you want a turnt up club, where it's a party and a strip club in one go to Peaches. Exert necessary caution and awareness at all these establishments. After the club if you hungry go to Waffle House, R. Thomas, Slutty Vegan, Edgewood Pizza or Pho 24 *on Buford highway*
    For fun go to the Ponce City Rooftop, walk the beltline via Ponce City market, check out what concerts are being played in the city, skate at Cascade (I like Wednesdays), go walk Little 5 Points, go to World of Coca Cola, Civil Rights museum and MLK museum, visit SCAD to see art, if it's Sunday do Bonfire ATL, Trap Museum, Jeju spa (24 hours) go to Apache Cafe for open mic night. If you happen to be here during the school year and Tri Cities high school is doing a musical, go see it! Black magnet arts program and they kill anything they touch.
    For bougie shopping stick to Buckhead, Lenox I guess, Phipps plaza. If you regular try Little 5 Points, Atlantic Station, Camp Creek, Tanger Outlets (ATL shopping scene is mostly designer, not very good). For
    Wholesale Costume jewelry and hair stuff, try Buford Highway towards White Windmill Bakery. Most stores require a business license but some will sell to anyone, so get your wholesale fix here.
    Outside stuff maybe Stone Mountain Park, Botanical gardens.....idk just don't go to lake Lanier under any circumstance.
    Oh, and drive to the corner of the Gateway center and bless one of them folks with a ten dollar bill or something, pay your dues.

    Thanks, Jennifer. Four good tips there. Atlanta may not be the least appreciated big city in America, but I think it's right up there among the least. And I say that because (and I don't mean this to be as ugly as it's going to sound, Jennifer) so many of Atlanta's residents can't seem to pronounce their own city's name. Alana? Is that how you say it? Isn't that Honey Boo Boo's real name?
    It's like if you were to visit Helena, Montana and after tuning in to the local news, you hear the lead anchor say something about Monana. And then one reporter after another says Monana. Next there's a commercial and the TV salesman says Monana. And then you change channels and the weatherman is saying Monana, so you realize it's not just that one station. Maybe you do a city tour, and you hear the guide start saying Monana this and Monana that. And you start to wonder, "Are all these people here really not saying Montana?" "And are they really so clueless about how funny and/or crazy that is?" If that would strike you as really odd about the people of Helena and/or Montana, that's how hearing Alana makes me feel about Atlanta.

    • @thegiantpaperpanda
      @thegiantpaperpanda 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Steve Gavigan This is the south. Lots of people pronounce Atlanta like "Alana." Honestly, if you over pronounced the "T"s I would know you're probably from out of town.

    • @stevegavigan8124
      @stevegavigan8124 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      thegiantpaperpanda Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm actually from southern Georgia, born and raised. I just don't understand why people will take a name that pronounced correctly is one of the most attractive sounding names for a place there could be, and then mutilate it so that it becomes one of the least attractive names. And I don't think it's necessary to over pronounce the "T"s, as I often hear people do. One of the Braves announcers is the worst offender I know. He either makes both T's completely silent or pounds out the first one (something like AT-la-na), often in the same sentence. I just want to sit down with him and other offenders and try to reason with them. You can hear these same people enunciating similar names correctly (or-LAN-do, to-RON-to, sa-cra-MEN-to), but then they just can't say at-LAN-ta. I live in Savannah, and I sometmes wonder whether it's an attempt to make Atlanta rhyme with Savannah.

    • @thegiantpaperpanda
      @thegiantpaperpanda 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve Gavigan Ha! Our "phonetics" are wonky down here. Savannah's beautiful, no doubt. But Atlanta is in it's own league. A great progressive city with mixed cultures lots of entertainment with a good dash of southern hospitality. How do you feel about them moving the Braves stadium to Cobb?
      Either way, I love my city. I'm planning on moving to Decatur next year.

    • @thegiantpaperpanda
      @thegiantpaperpanda 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Yeah, it's terrible. Moving it to Cobb is like moving it to the boonies. It's sad, I liked regularly going to Braves games.
