Found your channel recently and with two little kiddos myself I adore the mom life vibe here :) I also love Arnak so much! Thanks for all the work you put into these!
Awesome list! I have quite a few crossovers with yours 😊 I really want to play Blood Rage after your raving review! My top 10 from the BGG top 100 are: 10) El Grande 9) Ark Nova 8) Wingspan 7) Azul 6) 7 Wonders/7 Wonders Duel (I'm cheating too!) 5) Castles of Burgundy 4) Everdell 3) Root 2) Quacks of Quedlingburg 1) Lost Ruins of Arnak, also!
Fun list idea and great video! We have a bit of crossover. And I think you had some other good video ideas mentioned in this one: top 50 and playing through the top 100 (The Brothers Murph are actually trying to do that this year). I would watch those. Here's my top 10 out of the top 100: 10. Anachrony (50 on BGG; 27 on personal) 9. Lost Ruins of Arnak (29 on BGG; 22 on personal) 8. Ark Nova (4 on BGG; 20 on personal) 7. Twilight Imperium 4th Edition (5 on BGG; 18 on personal) 6. Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 (2 on BGG; 17 on personal) 5. Obsession (62 on BGG; 16 on personal) 4. Eclipse: New Dawn for the Galaxy (80 on BGG; 8 on personal) 3. Marvel Champions (41 on BGG; 6 on personal) 2. Everdell (35 on BGG; 5 on personal) 1. Scythe (17 on BGG; 4 on my personal top 100)
Great lists! You mentioned a number that would be on my top 10. My favorite game is Terraforming Mars. Two games that you did not mention that I would recommend: Concordia (tons of maps and card management and trade houses); El Grande (area control goodness with a brand new re-release). Cheers.
45:37 You know, there was this one game which I played - early on when I went to my Game Nights - which dissuades me from games which are overly asymmetric. That game was Betrayal at House on the Hill. I don’t like how when the haunt starts, the game becomes a one vs. many game, in which you have no idea what is going on until after the game is over. This was early in my gaming career - so I feel that since then, every time I hear about games which have different mechanisms for different players/characters - like Root or Merchants’ Cove, I write them off for myself because of that situation… But now I am thinking that I would like to try Root out. I just need to find the right group - and hopefully someone can teach it to me (that is my favorite way to learn games, to begin with), so that I don’t have to read the rulebook!
Juggling a toddler gives this list a realism that most top 10s lack! My top 5 from the top 100: 1 Concordia 2 El Grande 3 Castles of Burgundy 4 Blood Rage 5 Five Tribes
26:24 …Which is exactly why I would NOT use this game as an intro to worker placement, for someone who has never played one - because that could confuse them - as that isn’t part of regular worker placement games.
Well, it sounds like I'm definitely going to have to find a copy of Blood Rage. It joins some other very notable games that don't make my personal list because I haven't played them....YET. (Looking at you, Mansions of Madness and Cthulhu Death May Die) Anyway, here's my list: 10. Azul 9. Everdell 8. Quacks of Quedlinburg 7. Aeon's End 6. 7 Wonders Duel 5. The Search for Planet X 4. Cascadia 3. Lost Ruins of Arnak 2. Decrypto 1. The Castles of Burgundy
Out of about 30 games on the list that I've played: 1. Lost Ruins of Arnak 2. Wingspan 3. 7 Wonders 4. Heat: Pedal to the Metal 5. The Crew (Mission Deep Sea) 6. Dune: Imperium (Uprising) 7. Cascadia 8. Viticulture Essential Edition 9. Scythe 10. The Quacks of Quedlinburg Looks like I was slow, because right now Architects of the West Kingdom is at #101 on BGG. It would be my #6 here.
OMG! Am I the last person to hear Beckham referred to as Baby Buzzz?! I love it!!! So I haven’t checked, but I wonder if Trajan, Great Western Trail + RttN, and Moonrakers+Overload+ Binding Ties are BGG Top 100? I suspect GWT is but the other two not so much. Those 3 + CoB make up my top 4, for whatever that’s worth. And Ark Nova is up there, too. I’d be more than happy if I were stranded on an island with those 5 (and two other people to play them with, of course!).
This is mine! :) (actually pretty close to my top 10 of all time, not sure that is a bad or good thing, I guess it is just a thing!) :) #1: Arkham Horror: The Card Game #2: Twilight Struggle #3: Mage Knight Board Game #4: Gaia Project #5: The Gallerist #6: Marvel Champions: The Card Game #7: Barrage #8: Ark Nova #9: Great Western Trail: Second Edition #10: On Mars
My family first got deep into settlers of Catan which we played every day for 3 months when I got home from university. Then we bought 7 wonders and played that every day for 5 months, often with our neighbour coming over t play too. Definitely one of my top ten games and I appreciate that you have the OG edition. I will say, on the other hand, that I HATE Race for the Galaxy. I don't know if it's because it's so hard to grok at first, or because my group bounced off of it hard, but there it is. The fact that I also hate Rez Arcana maybe means I'm just not a Thom Lehmann fan.
Love the lists ladies. Started playing board games with the kids during COVID. Dragonwood, Machi Koro, and Marvel United is what got us playing as a family something that wasn't on a screen. That led to me doing some research for the Target buy 2 get 1 sale, which got me Wingspan, Everdell, and 7 Wonders. And that was it. That got me deep into this hobby, and it's got its meeply claws and chitty talons deep into me. And I'll have to live with it for the rest of my life. 😭👍 I have since moved on from Wingspan and 7 Wonders, but Everdell is definitely still in my top 10. And I am interested in playing Wyrmspan and Duel for Middle Earth. Dwellings of Eldervale, Dune Imperium, Marvel Champions, Marvel United, Quacks, Clank Catacombs, Wonderland's War, Thunder Road Vendetta, and Heat along with Everdell would probably be my current top 10.
Nice list. Too bad Five Tribes was not mentioned (my favorite game of all time, along Tigris and Euphrates but that second one is no longer on the Top100 🤣). From the ones mentioned Castles of Burgundy and Cascadia are great and Lost Ruins of Arnak is amazing and the adaptation on BGA insanely good 🙌
I wouldn't really expect it on a list next to Everdell and Wingspan, but for people who like heavy and mean euroes it is truly fantastic, my number one board game and number two game over all after Malifaux.
Well Kim... Dice Tower is highly overrated. That's why I watch Board Game Buzzz. Aeon's End is a great game. Carly! I am disappointed! I would have thought War of the Ring might make the list. I thought we had similar game tastes! 😋
Such a great idea! I haven't played a lot of games on your top 10, or even 10 games on BGG's top 100 hahaha. So here's what my shortlist would look like: 1. Cascadia 2. Clank! 3. Quacks of Quedlinburgh 4. Wingpsan 5. Root
Its interesting to me that every top 10 list from females almost always includes Arnak, wingspan, everdell, castles of burgundy, and cascadia. There's not much overlap in mechanisms so is it the art you ladies like so much?
Found your channel recently and with two little kiddos myself I adore the mom life vibe here :) I also love Arnak so much! Thanks for all the work you put into these!
Awww thanks so much!!! We are so glad to have you here!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Great list. You guys interact great for an entertaining watch!
Glad you enjoyed it❤️❤️❤️
Solid lists! I've played every one of them, and my favorite is easily Ark Nova with Arnak being a close second.
Awesome list! I have quite a few crossovers with yours 😊 I really want to play Blood Rage after your raving review! My top 10 from the BGG top 100 are:
10) El Grande

GREAT LIST!!
So many wonderful games on your lists. You two kids have such great chemistry. You can see how much you enjoy each other’s company. Thank you.
Thanks so much!

Great list! Love it!
Thanks for sharing your list! It's so fun to see what other people love
Where did you get your shelf!
Amazon!!! I can’t find the original link anymore…. But they have lots that look similar! ❤️

I will upvote any single post that even mentions Decrypto, let alone puts it in a top 10 list.
Great lists! Hilarious how you both knew each other's picks so well. 😅
Glad you enjoyed!❤️❤️❤️

I am so sad architect’s got knocked out 😢😢😢 It’s so good! And great list!!!
I can always count on Kim to keep Power Grid in the conversation.
Always ❤️
🙌🙌🙌
It's my fault. :)

I am a huge Beckham fan :). Can you arrange for him to stay little forever:)?
I WISH I COULD 😭😭😭
Cthulhu: Death May Die, Battlestar Galactica and Nemesis definitely are in my top 3 from the top 100. I may have to film my own list.
🎉🎉🎉

Yay! Lost Ruins of Arnak is my #1 favourite game of all time too! So happy to see that yall love it. ❤❤
YAY!! SOO gooood
4 Cross overs with my top 10 from the top 100! Have you not had the chance to play Dune: Imperium yet or was it just not a hit for you?
Not yet played it!!!!!
So many amazing games!!! I personally am a huge fan of Everdell, Obsession and Arnak!! All amazing games.
SAME!!
Terraforming Mars is top 3 for me!
❤️❤️❤️
Once a baby sees an earring that baby gonna grab an earring. I’m glad that didn’t end poorly. 😊
Haha agreed! He went right for it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

1 CoB per player at a time on BGA is my rule

Where's Barrage?

@@martinpersson1412 Where's Kanban EV?
@@mrbovinejoni569 Haven't tried it actually.
@@martinpersson1412 😔
Still need to play it!
Well Kim... Dice Tower is highly overrated. That's why I watch Board Game Buzzz. Aeon's End is a great game. Carly! I am disappointed! I would have thought War of the Ring might make the list. I thought we had similar game tastes! 😋
I own it but haven’t yet been able to play it!!!! I am dying too though!!!!
@@boardgame_buzzz omg you played Dune and not War of the Ring?! I will give you a pass as I don't know your level of Tolkien fandom
Carly, do not give in to Dwellings of Eldervale. It is a great game but Arnak is still the best!😉🙂
I KNOWW!! It’s so tempting thoughhhh!!
Such a great idea! I haven't played a lot of games on your top 10, or even 10 games on BGG's top 100 hahaha.
So here's what my shortlist would look like:
1. Cascadia
2. Clank!
3. Quacks of Quedlinburgh
4. Wingpsan
5. Root
Nice list!

I just looked at the top 100 games and selected the ones I enjoy the most! I know plenty of women who’s list would be totally different from mine ❤️
I love the relationship Kim and Baby Buzzz have😍 I love your reviews 🙌 You are perfect together!!!! Love you ALL🥰
Thank you so much!!
