You could use the bigger cage if you stabilized the Gimbal .... I'm just noticing this 1:49 , you can see where the middle stabilizing nickle is in the wrong spot. loosen it up and slide it to the left
Hello! I wanna buy an Iphone 15 pro max and beastcage… What gimbal could you suggest me for an Iphone 15 pro max + beastcage + lenses + filters? Does zhiyun crane 4 worth it for this set up?
I'm personally into that stuff. I have an iPhone 11 (not the newest phone but that's not the point) + a cage rom SmallRig (which was really hard to get in Europe for that phone), a 1.33 anamorphic lens from Moment with some adapters to put a 82mm mist and ND filters on top of all that. It's a very bulky setup, especially because of the giant filters (I wanted to future proof in case I switch to a proper camera at some point). The DJI RS 3 Mini looks very tempting to me personally but this video had an interesting point about balancing the gimbal. Wouldn't be possible to flip the case by 180° and maybe off-set it a tiny bit so that camera and the filters would be more centered to get a better weight distribution?
Yes, you can flip the phone over and try it that way. Sometimes that can work or try using counterweights. The weight itself is not an issue, it’s that they’re so top-heavy.
@@iphoneographers Thank you for your review. which one do you think is better Feiyu or DJI RS3 mini? I need to hold an iphone or Sony ZV-E1 + 85mm 1.4 lens.
Hey Blake, thanks for the video. I think this and Aircross S are similar in price, after watching your videos and I can’t decide between the 2. Which would you suggest and why?
That’s a tough one. They are very similar, and it becomes very subjective. But, if you have a heavier setup go with the Aircross. Otherwise, I really do like the design of this one and it holds heavy-ish setups, too.
If you have a heavier setup then the Moza performs better. If you don’t, then it’s a toss up and really comes down to personal preference. I personally like the Scorp Mini’s form-factor.
@@iphoneographers IIRC in the past one issue was that the phones and cages were too light for the gimbals. If I did the research right, the new RS 3 mini needs at least 400g of payload to properly function, so a phone with a cage and a few lenses might do it, otherwise one could possibly add a MagSafe power-bank in case of an iPhone to add a bit more weight.
Is digital zoom (electronic follow focus) still going on this gimbal? On mine this function is no longer available since the last updates! I’m so disappointed now!
Definitely a possibility. I didn’t try too much variation. Also a counterweight could make it work, but even then it’s still tricky to balance. It’s more about the top-heavy part than the overall weight.
Are you talking about log video or cinematic mode? It has a log in the creative section. But if you mean cinematic mode, that’s only available in the native camera app.
I am from India and I need help, I want to make a short film with this phone, I have 13 pro max, but I don't know what lens to use, if you can help, it will be great.
It depends on what you’re trying to do. The built-in lenses can work just fine. Or you might want to try an anamorphic to give it more “cinematic“ look. Beastgrip or Moment have good options to look at.
thank you !! would love to see you review the feiyu scorp mini 2*
would love to see how the universal Beastgrip pro cage fits and balances on it 🙌
Wow 😮this is a hidden gem 💎 I wasn’t sure if you would cover it! 😊❤
It’s very solid I like it (especially the design - very easy to use), but just not great for real heavy setups.
You are the best iphone videographer source on YT! Thank you! Will probably end up taking your classes too!
Thanks! Glad you find the videos helpful.
just got it and Im so excited to start creating!?

Hello! I wanna buy an Iphone 15 pro max and beastcage…

Does zhiyun crane 4 worth it for this set up?
Hi! Is this gimbal compatible with Nikon Z6 II (24-120 f.4)?
Is it just me or does it have similar features to the Hohem MT2 which has just come out? Which do you think is better?
Haven’t used that one yet. But most of these gimbals have similar features.

Probably the DJI for the heavier lens setup.

@@iphoneographers Thanks I appreciate! And congrats on becoming a skillshare tutor. I look forward to taking your smartphone audio course
scorp mini or moza aircross s which one you prefer. or any other hybrid gimbal?
If you have a heavier setup then the Moza performs better. If you don’t, then it’s a toss up and really comes down to personal preference. I personally like the Scorp Mini’s form-factor.
👍👍👍 did you try the gimbal with Beastgrip pro ?
Not yet, but it should be no problem. That’s fairly light and distributes the weight pretty well.
Love from India ❤️
Does the new DJI gimbal work with smart phones like the iPhone 14 pro max with cage and lenses Blake? Thanks
I haven’t used it yet, but based on the payload of 4.4 pounds and the various features, the weight will be no problem at all.
@@iphoneographers IIRC in the past one issue was that the phones and cages were too light for the gimbals. Yeah, for these kind of gimbal setups I’m typically using a cage. The Beastcage itself weighs 800g.
Dankeschön, what a great video!
would this work well on the new GoPro 11 black? Thank you
Sure, this is a versatile setup
Is digital zoom (electronic follow focus) still going on this gimbal? On mine this function is no longer available since the last updates! I’m so disappointed now!
Haven’t tested that. Sometimes new firmware can have a bug and they’ll typically fix it pretty quickly though.
How does this compare vs Moza Aircrews S vs DJI RS 3 mini?
It’s very similar to the Moza in price and functionality, the DJI holds more weight and is more robust but it’s also about $100 more.
For the beastcage, could it work if it was mounted with the lens at the bottom left instead of top right? To make it less top heavy?
Definitely a possibility. I didn’t try too much variation. Also a counterweight could make it work, but even then it’s still tricky to balance. It’s more about the top-heavy part than the overall weight.
great question
how to shoot Cinematic video in Cinema P3?.i have purchased pro and cannot find that option.
Are you talking about log video or cinematic mode? It has a log in the creative section. But if you mean cinematic mode, that’s only available in the native camera app.
RS3 Mini Ronin took my money
Yeah, that looks good. Payload capacity is really good.

First!!
Oh no beastcage , I’m out
Yeah, I tried multiple times. It’s just a little bit too top heavy. Counterweights are an option but even with those it’s tricky.
@@iphoneographers I think gonna buy a used dji rs2 , they can hold up to !0 pounds , that will work , yeah ?
Definitely. The larger gimbals work great with every phone setup I’ve thrown at it.
@@iphoneographers thanks 🙏 great page you got going
