I wish this movie did Ruth's character justice like the book did. she was an important character too
Actually, I liked the movie better because it focused more about Suzie - her journey after death. Yes, It was different from the book. But this gave so much emphasis to the victim and that's why I'm more attached to the movie since they made it more of her story. The book has so much details and plots but for an approximate 1&1/2 hour film I am glad the director took this approach.
If heaven would be like this, i would stay there. It looks so beautiful and peaceful
I wouldn’t. I want my heaven to look the way i want it to look and that is more like everyday life but better of course
i love how it shows how shes happy and ok in this 'heavenly' place . it makes you feel a lot better for this charecter and also for anyone you've lost personally. (my opinion)
It is known that after interviewing people who have died and then returned to the living, claimed that they remember not wanting to return to their earthly existence because of being in absolute peace and serenity.
i can believe the feeling of peace. nothingness is probably pretty peaceful. you don’t really have a human body or a brain to perceive all the things this movie shows but once you come back to life it probably feels like just a warm and empty hug which people later decide was very nice and peaceful
@@cupknee you become the all and nothingness all at once; become one and energy of creation ongoing
@Jose Antonio They have no source because no one has ever said this lmao Articles tend to state they don’t remember anything at all lmao
Jpr.422...Oh..I hope so.. but kinda already believe that is so..Thanks for mentioning this, very nice thought
Of what we may expect and so easily to help us accept our own deaths. The only thing that may be hard about it is not being able to spend time with our loved ones whom we've left behind through no fault of our own...jpr.422
No one has ever had brain death and come back. The "dead" had their hearts stopped with their brains still firing.
1:29. Absolute bliss
Breath taking scene i hope heaven is like this
My mother had out of body experience where God took her to heaven. She says that the streets are of gold, no gold like here but more pure and sparkly. She says it can't be described how beautiful it is, there is immense joy, love and peace and every question you have gets answer immidietly. She wanted to stay there forever and was sadest when she realized she had to go back to this earth realm. But God wanted her to experience this to encourage her and to tell others about it. We can all get there through Jesus who gave His life so that we could get saved (by His pure and holy sacrifice justified and by blood washed). Just accept Him as your savior, get baptized in the name of Jesus and live by His Word (Bible).. And you'll see how amazing the journey with Him is and how tremendous His love for you is. God bless dear, i hope to be with all of you one day in Kingdom of God
@@standingfortruth4043 Everyone has different experiences. In mine, you can see the past and future. There was no "god" or "devil". No heaven or hell.
I remember ditching school one day with my friend who was home sick and we watched this movie. It hit me hard then and still gives the same vibes now. This movie was so beautifully made. ❤️
The book. It's more heavy though, it goes a lot more into the family's grief.
This movie made me believe in afterlife and God and how it all works more than any church ever good, love all the actors they did an awesome job and lent the movie an other dimensional reality..
We don’t have any scientific proof no movie could show us that or church we just have faith but we have to hope and believe
When my son first learned to speak. He said he remembered in his last life he was a little girl, and that she got lost and wandered into the waves as a baby at the beach and drowned. He said when his mom found his body she was sad, and cried for him. He didn’t feel sad anymore because he had turned into magic and became my son. Hearing a 2 year old tell you such a story hits hard.
Okay I will believe that. But I do know God does give choice to come back as a new form or go past the gates
The movie makes me cry every time I watch it, it’s so beautiful.
1:30 that’s the same ball of his second victim Jackie
@@Kidmarquezurmom if you watch the scene where Susie is going through the list of victims, you’ll see she has the same ball
@@adeleaslan8182 And the tree that looks like a flute at 1:06! (Towards the end of the movie, you can see that one of the victims in the meadow is holding it). I love the attention to detail in this movie!!
"What if she isn't....what of she's still here?". Best part
The scene of the night and day over both seas was beautiful...
"
I did begin to wonder what *heaven* meant. I thought, if this were heaven, truly heaven, it would be where my grandparents lived. Where my father's father, my favorite of them all, would lift me up and dance with me. I would feel only joy and have no memory, no cornfield and no grave.
"You can have that," Franny said to me. "Plenty of people do."
"How do you make that switch?" I asked.
"It's not easy as you might think." she said. "You have to stop desiring certain answers."
"I don't get it."
"If you stop asking why you were killed instead of someone else, stop investigating the vacuum left by your loss, stop wondering what everyone left on Earth is feeling," she said, "you can be free. Simply put, you have to give up on Earth."
This seemed impossible to me.

- Anne Sebold's The Lovely Bones (book)
I also felt terrible that she watches over her sister and gets to see her grow up and enjoy things that she was denied in life by that horrific creep of a neighbor.
One of the most beautiful movies ever made.
this film has great music but always cut short in most scenes
I still find this movie deeply mooving beautiful and devastating at the same time. I still have the DVD from all those years when i bought it one day after school
Holly Golightly, Breakfast at the tiffany's reference!
the full scene is amazing and makes think about heaven !
I cried my eyes out for this part
I'd of liked it if this clip had extended to the bit with the dad smashing bottles, even though that nearly made me cry
Completely forgot this movie. My high school gf told me to watch it and couldnt get enough of it. What an odd but great movie
This made me cry. ugh
Many people comment that if they were there, they would stay there because it looks beautiful and peaceful. But in my case... It looks beautiful, sad and loneliness. If i ever decide to stay there I would feel guilty for letting behind my family.
1:53 where ground and sky touches just like in kingdom hearts 3 and SAO.
This movie touched my soul
In the clip of her last moments in the hole before she’s attacked, the last thing she looks at is an owl which is moloch the pagan god of child sacrifice. I think it’s interesting how the movie shows how traumatized children linger in the afterlife attached to their traumas.☹️
Don't cry.....don't cry.....*sobs*
A beautiful film....I know this pain
I'd cried for this movie
this movie was so amazing I absolutely loved it !!!!!!
can't believe this film is 10 years olld
The books are almost always better than movie versions. Granted, the books can go into more detail while movies have to keep it under a certain time.
Hi my name is Louisa Aves I am 40 years old I love watching the lovely bones I've seen it 30 times its brilliant I like George Harvey and Susie salmon too I cried at the end
I have always remembered the Bible verse....Luke 18:16 "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God". I liked to think that the children that have been murdered and suffered a horrible death go directly to heaven to be with Jesus. I hope they never remember what happened and are just swept up in his loving arms.
I wish I could find the song that plays while Ray and Ruth were talking if anyone know it please tell me I’ve found lots of versions of this song but not this one specifically
What’s the song at the beginning I use to know but now I can’t find it
I have always believed in the afterlife I think spirits can hear us and see us that make me feel happy. I wonder if when its time fore us to move on to the next world our relatupives take us to the next word?
Very touching movie. Now i want to buy the book. Which is better?
Kiedy dusza Susie dotyka Ruth Connors.....najbardziej mistyczne kilka sekund w historii kina ❤
This movie broke me...
Never talk or trust to the stranger and neighbor
I watched this movie and in the middle is made me cry and the starting and the end it made me cry my mom was watching it and i walked in the room and she said this is a sad movie you might not want to watch it i rubbed off but that wasnt a good idea i cried alot😭
In the book, it said something like Susie was wearing like a white veil when Tuth saw her.
whats the music playing the background ?
Love the book
In the trailer there is a scene where is snowing in the beach scene but was deleted in the movie
Where i can buy a book
Very sad story :-(...
its sad that it change dimension like in a dream
Saoirse is so beautiful.
Is it just me or is it that Ruth is so pretty
What is this rated???
I never read the book but is that part where Ruth sees Susie running through the street take place after she is killed or is it just her "spirit" running away from what is happening to her body before she's killed?
I think she is already dead, because she touches the hand of the other girl, and therefore dates her to see and feel her spirit.
the book is better cause its more detailed and ull understand it better
This movie terrifies me
So sad 😭😭
It's beautiful but looks a bit eerie, love this movie though and love the idea of building our own afterlife.
Wait, that was Vietnamese??!! I'm Vietnamese, and I had no idea!! What was she trying to say?
the name please ? :o
The author had a guy falsely imprisoned for 16 years
Triste demais
Interesting theory
is there a video of the scene in 0:28? I really need it
Μου αρέσει πολύ αυτή η ταινία δεν την χάνω ποτε
I thought holly wasn't supposed to have an accent
I havent read the book, but in the book does the author actually descrive susies world like it is? all fantasy like?
In my opinion her world is a lot less fantastical in the book but still different from earth
***** I read the book and this is the first time ever I liked a movie better than the book,
That dude looks about 23
@@homeworld1765 he honestly looked 26 they should of found a younger looking actor
Lindsay was a year younger than Susie and they cast Rose McIver because she grows in the years go by after Susie dies
If I die today I will have unfinished business because I can’t find this dang song it’s killing me!!!!! 😩😤😭🤬
A meadow in heaven???? Maybe who knows??? I know God's earth will look like this though. I'm looking forward to no evil and all happiness. And for all you atheists out there I will gladly say this..,since God said we are all going to heaven we are all going to heaven lol
No, only the ones who believe. If you don't believe, Hell waits for you...
Well we all have to pass through heaven to get judged. That part we all are in heaven. Whether we stay there or not is another story.
+themananswer2250 in 2008 all bad souls can't get reincarnated again , the future generations and kids that's being born now is light souls its true
No we're not. dont believe the lie. The people that don't believe will burn up for eternity. It's horrible. Only the people that serve God will make it to heaven.
John Davis,how does heaven look?
0:26 One of the few parts of the movie I don’t like. It’s so cheesy how Ruth looks up.
Hi
half way seems alot more interesting than heaven. i would stay there
I'm not doubting this movie but I just don't feel it. I'm still reading the book and I'm almost done with it. But the scenes that I've seen so far especially the ones I read in the book didn't move me except the scene where Mr Harvey invites her in.
Please let this be my beautiful daughters forever home..💜👼💜

I JUST FINISHED THIS BOOK AHAHAHAAAAAAA
Didn’t he kill all the girls right
Is this movie rated PG13 because I heard it is but it seems PG and very age apropriate
Yes, it's PG-13. I think because they show some blood and dead bodies, plus the fact that the girl is raped and murdered by a child molester (no, it wasn't shown on screen, but obviously it was implied).
This movie was pretty crappy lol but the acting was good especially Tucci as the creep. Wow he did Amazing
like and omg very sad stoy had sad day
q linda es susi sarmon pero ella muere y se la violan y q bello es el cielo como es la tierra no es mas bello el cielo chicos y chicas yo no eydo para el cielo pero mi corazon lo dise todo
holly's... Asian? O.o
Okknbv
:'(
like ako and omg
This is one of my favourite movies of all time, but the actress that played Holly was a terrible actress.
I feel like this movie is trying so hard to get me to believe in god
But they don't even mention God, only afterlife and heaven without the concept of God. Anyway its based on a book.
