So is your approach to H.I.T. more bodybuilding focus, like extreme hypertrophy? I ask that because deadlifts when done for strength are typically trained in a volume approach to develop speed off the ground, technique, and eventually very heavy weights--500lbs+, that is why most strength athletes quit their sets before the speed gets too slow or at least 1 rep shy of positive failure at normal speed. Do you have any clients or experience of seeing people trained in this controlled tempo method that can bench press, squat or deadlift a lot of weight? The only very strong H.I.T. guy I have heard of on record was Casey Viator
+silatguy Yes it is. I am not concerned to hoist heavy weights and break records. I am 45 year old..too late for that..lol. The idea to lift a weight fast in order to develop more strength is a "negative" - it is the intention to move the weight fast that causes maxium recruitment - so for example..perfom each rep at a slow controlled speed (4/2) - then once u hit failure or before..try to acclerate- u wont be able to..but ur intention to do so causes all fibers to be recruited in a safe manner - as far as powerlifting...it is a combo mostly of skill training - a powerlifter could benefit from a HIT based program and improve his strength - yet he must also perform his lifts for skill - I guess a mixture would be ideal - yet power lifting or any "sport" is not def "bone wrecking" - Casey lifted enourmous weights yes..due to genetics and proper training.
best. gym. ever.
the possitive is too quick..better than normal HIT ? (slow)
These guys are NEW to HIT - so some might be a little fast still yes - but it is not ideal...ideal would be about 2/.4 cadence - takes time to instruct someone that comes from traditional volume training to train like that.
yes,understand you...thanks for answer Markus!
Mike must be proud. :)
