I'm the person who loves making granny squares but hates putting them together. This is so gorgeous I may have to break down and make it. This is so gorgeous and elegant!
I agree and have seen this stitch in other tutorials. I write out the patterns I really like and have been calling it a long dc (or ldc) since there's only one yo. Otherwise I'd call it a short trc because I've seen other channels call it a triple crochet. I guess you could call it that, since you yo and pull through 3x. It really is a hybrid stitch for a lot of us western crocheters, but it's so simple and so useful!
Hiya, yr channel just popped up on my notifications. This is an interesting square, I appreciate the way you've combined the different stitch patterns❣️
This is a lovely square, however you either need to do the tutorial for the complete square or leave written directions for the remainder of the square. 😐
Beautiful pattern, its not hard to follow along. I just wish you would have showed a bit more of making the new rnds. I will enjoy making this pattern, I have the perfect yarn to use for this pattern. Wish me luck.
Lovely pattern but you needed to take it to its conclusion for those who could not figure out what you did for the rest of the square. Also it helps if you don't move the finished square so much so we can see th overall pattern and figure it out the rest of the way. This is however a lovely pattern and I was able to figure it out. I will be doing it soon. Thank you.
I slowed down the video. If you go to settings by clicking on the "flower looking" "thingy"; look for "playback speed" you can make the video go faster or slower. Maybe this will help. I found this by mistake and I use it on some of the videos. Good luck.
@@karencotterell-gd6ln I very much want the rectangular version of this to make placemats and have gone through all Blossom Crochet’s videos twice looking for her version and cannot find it. Do you know the date or what she titled the video? I will work with this to try to adapt it myself but don’t have faith that I’ll succeed.😞
@@debbieedwards9508 hi Debbie, blossom crochet version is not quite the same as this. But the principle of using fpdc is the same. It does not have any holes in it though. I am sure this pattern could be adapted though to make a rectangle and I will keep an eye out if anyone creates one. Will let you know if I see it. The blossom crochet design is very nice too, sorry I can’t remember what she called it. I hadn’t seen the full video of this version when I put the comment in sorry about that. K.
@@debbieedwards9508 hi Debbie, having looked back on blossom crochet channel I also couldn’t find the rectangle. I think I was thinking of the granny square with the fpdc but seeing it again and only does single fpdc every other one and this design is more complex with several raised stitches together isn’t it. I havent made this one yet myself but this does seem more challenging. Sorry for any confusion.
@@graelincameron7148Thank you, this model can also be assembled in small pieces. In this way, it can be knitted to the desired size and is suitable for edge crocheting, that is, for the crocheting you want.

Beautiful!! I just subscribed. Please leave the pattern words on the screen for a little longer. I need to glance up at them as you continue around each row. EXDC is used at the start of Tour 2 (row 2) instead of DC. I thank the person pointing that out, because I missed it.
This pattern is amazing. Wish she would have told us the next steps. Im so confused now. 😕 maybe some of you understand the hand gestures, but unfortunately i do not😢. Im unsure what comes next. But i made it perfectly up to the part she ran out of yarn. Oh well... at least i know i can do the first part! If anyone else understands how to do the rest, please let the rest of us know. I would really love to learn this pattern in completion ❤❤ thank you in advance😅❤ Update: i think i may have figured it out. Just repeat the prior 2 rows!
My understanding is that you just keep repeating the pattern - as it grows from the corners, and the two stitches either side of the corner on each row are NOT Front Posts, then when there are 6 stitches between the newest Front posts and the corner, then you repeat Rows 5 and 6 (i.e. you do the 6 chain between the edge of the corner and the newest front posts, and the, on the following row, create the new little ‘bow’ by 3 chain, 2 sc, 3 ch). Once that is established, you start building the NEW Front Posts at the corners again. And on and on until it is the size you want it to be, But I’ just guessing, lol!; I haevn’t made this yet. And I, TOO, wish she’d gone just a little further in the pattern!! :D
Thank you great pattern, however the repeat ends abruptly and would have been clearer if I knew where to put the SC as I am knew and was a unsure how to completed the rounds. 😮
I agree. I was wishing it just went on for a couple more stitches! But i think it would be: chain 3, then two sc in between the sc on the line below, then 3 chain to get to the next set off front posts.
Lovely, but my question is: the front post stiches are extended double crochet? Thank you for sharing the beautiful granny square. Another question, when you join the row, is that a half double crochet?
I love this pattern for a granny square. But I’m just concerned because each square would be time intensive. Would take forever to complete even a baby blanket. But I still might try.
@@georgiabutka3770 I think you repeat row 5 (where you insert the long chains) and row 6 (where you make the little ‘bow’ on the long chain (3 ch, 2 sc, 3 ch), and then the next rows, UNTIL you have 6 stitches between the new front posts (created near the corner) and the corner itself.
@@JanetEdghill Thank you, I'm just trying to figure out what rounds to repeat to make it baby blanket size. again thank you for the response & I'll give your suggestion a try. just wish she would have mentioned it in the video.
Written instructions needed or better tutorial your thumb stops me from seeing what stitch you are going into. So want to do this but you are to hard to follow properly which is a pity.
Yes, I agree. If you could pause longer with fingers out of the way so when I pause I can clearly see the details of the pattern it would help me. I like the challenge of a new pattern, but when I can't see I give up in frustration. You crochet very fast. When I pause it's blurry. Slow speed didn't help either.
It is a very basic beginner piece. The only challenge would be if you are not familiar with doing front post trebles. And they're easy enough to pick up if you watch the video closely ❤❤
