A part of me believes that this was not Eclipsa's spell. But Solaria's. Solaria did give Eclipsa some of her spells. So I do believe that Eclipsa was unsure if her daughter was going to be truly fine after firing it. And that'd be even more painful. She had a style, that’s for sure. It seems like certain queens develop new styles of magic. Eclipsa and Star both seem to have done it, and there are some lore examples that would indicate some others have too. Magic R&D relies heavily on the imagination and personality of the developer. The various styles of spell seem to reflect the personalities of the queens who invented and developed that sort of magic. “Dark” magic with its poetic incantations and titles referencing gothic and horror themes is a reflection of Eclipsa’s goth style and songwriting/poetry prowess. We see her fascination with the macabre, her artistic aptitude, her underlying kind nature, and her flexible attitude toward the rules and sometimes even toward ethics all show proudly in the spellwork she developed. On the other hand what we might call “whimsical” magic with its short, punchy incantations and utilization of happy, warm, lighthearted energies is a reflection of Star’s deeply loving and positive spirit. Her desire shines through for a multiverse without hatred or injustice where everyone coexists happily, to the extent that even when she fights, she uses hearts and rainbows because that’s what she wants in the world.
This is a great example of why Eclipsa *IS* worthy to be queen. Taking the side of the kingdom over her daughter and being willing to destroy her (I said destroy, not kill. Yes a person named Meteora with the same genetic makeup was still alive after this incident, but all of the events of her life that shaped her outlook and personality were completely erased essentially rendering pre-*Conquer* Meteora a past life at most to the new baby Meteora) to save the people in her care. This was before she was even made queen again, so this is still based on her sense of duty left over from her first tenure which is even more impressive.
Eclipsa, the true Butterfly, powerful, majestic, graceful and very kind. She truly has all of the winning traits. And now she can start over with her family at last. She deserves it.
poijn ve I've been away from this for so long but back in the earlier season of the cat that was discussing Stars Powers she stated that she hasn't seen a person this powerful since Queen eclipsa so that means the other previous butterflys were nowhere near to Eclispas power because she is Butterfly by Blood while the others are not related
Just loving the fact that Eclipsa just swinging her wand and it pushes back her daughter, to which I believe isn't even a good portion of her magic. Star had to be battling in full butterfly mode to do that much

Eclipsa was said to not be able to use magic without the wand and never unlocked her butterfly form, meaning she didn't really "graduate" her princess training before being sealed away. Meteora was also VERY strong in magic despite only just awakening it.
That’s why the Solarian army plot kinda sucked. Eclipsa was nerfed to the point she couldn’t win against one without using the spell with no name. I mean maybe if there was only one armour and everyone else just had the warrior buff. Or the blades weren’t anti monster magic. (What even was that?)
@@kingdoppelganger8951 Right? The book make it seemed like Mewni was struggling against the monsters in the war and had to make allies with a lot of kingdoms just to drive the monsters back. Yet in the last arc the Solarian army was such a dominant force that it seemed one sided. Even in Solaria's time the monsters were said to be a force to be reckoned with.

There’s still a person named Meteora with Meteora’s genetic Make-up after this, but Meteora as a person was erased here. The Meteora that lived life as Heinous really is for all intents and purposes dead. Eclipsa still knew she was killing that person. Even knowing she’ll get a second life, that still fucking sucks as a just-reunited mother.

Hey, I noticed something. When you pause this video at 0:24 at the top part of Eclipse’s wand turn into an umbrella you’ll see that the top is of the planet Saturn. Which made me think of Sailor Moon. I know they two completely different however it is the mean of Sailor Saturn that makes me think of Eclipse’s power. In Sailor moon it is said that Saturn is of the Solider of Silence and Destruction. However, there is more to it. Saturn is also know as Solider of Ruin and Rebirth. “Always in the end, comes Hope and Rebirth.” They confuse the dark powers of Saturn as evil without understanding the whole truth behind the rest of it. All they heard is destruction and think it is evil dark powers. Eclipse makes me think of Sailor Saturn every time. And I believe that the both of them are the strongest.

From what I heard they had knew ahead of time they were only getting one more season but instead of wrapping up the story nicely, they decided to do shipping filler. I just realized something! we've been arguing wether marco(who held and used the wand) have a butterfly or royal blood now we know that anyone can actually use it even w/o butterfly blood(since the royal family from after eclipsa is fraud)
Though Im not actually very familiar with this show, Im pretty sure the argument is because Marco has symbols on his cheeks. When people who werent part of the family used the wand they didnt have symbols. Though it also doesnt make sense because star has symbols on her cheeks as well.
You know what is really impressive? Eclipsa didn't do a "Butterfly" transformation like Star or Moon do when they get serious. She was able to completely dominate this battle without taking a hit, and she was using maybe 1% of her full strength. And at 1%, she's stronger than Moon and Star in "Butterfly Mode" COMBINED.
To be fair, Meteora wasn't really fighting back? Even so, it's still very impressive all she needed was two spells to take her down as where Moon and Star didn't nearly dent her as much in Butterfly form. Ecilpsa must have raw magic of true Butterfly line, and a lot of experience with the wand clearly. She's so good-

Yes, Star’s spells are less effective but they also don’t need a lot of energy so she can use those rapidly without getting tired easily. Capricorns are guided by him, and it's not only until they are older that they start to relax and become more childlike as they start to enjoy the fruits of their success. Eclipsa is the embodiment of Capricorn, even though she still has a childlike wonder, she still maintains poised at all times and at the end she does what must be done for the good of everyone as a leader would, even though she's breaking her own heart in doing so. So much more respect for Eclipsa who is just trying to do her best. Her spells were the most powerful, and misunderstood, so immediately she was branded as "evil". Like how b4 is a move in chess that mimics Eclipsa and Moon's first interaction, or how she talked about evil cooties when the cootie is another name for the Queen of spades. You could even talk about how in old America white women dating black men were called The queen of spades mirroring her relationship with Globgor. And that's without talking about the other symbolism associated with her...

If Star used those spells, it is likely that she could take down Meteora aswell. Eclipsa doesn't have to be super-powerful, but spells created by her are very devastating.

I can see why Eclipsa and Star are so much alike, like that little cat thing said when it evaluated Star. Both are fun loving and care free, but willing to make the hard choice when they need to like Star breaking the wand to save Marco and Eclipsa fighting her daughter though it hurt her. Both made spells that can kill Toffee . Both also showed that monsters aren't as bad as people thought .

If Eclipsa did all that from just experience then legit everyone who had the wand can say the spells and do the motion to cast the spell, but that’s not possible without a certain degree of power. Like if Star attempted these spells, they would probably not work or be less powerful since she’s not as powerful as Eclipsa, even if she keeps casting them blast after blast, she’ll get nowhere without actually having the power to cast the spell.

TBH I don’t think Eclipsa was trying to trick Star and Moon into giving her the wand. In the part where Moon ran away after fighting Meteora, Eclipsa looked shocked. If Eclipsa was just manipulating them she would have no reason to look shocked as Meteora would’ve been the only “witness” there. (and we all know how much she cares about Moon)

This almost made me cry...because this was a fight between a mother-in-law daughter relationship, and meteora didn't expect this from her own mother, Eclipsa, actually, nobody didn't expect this either, and for knowing that your own mother betrayed you, I know Meteora was doing a bad thing but it wasn't her fault that she have gone crazy and had lost control, the High commission, well ecxept for the earlier Queens of mewnie, Queens before Festivia, themselves, was the cause of all the destruction, and the one that who had stopped that destruction was the one that the High Commission misjudged, I know that it was Eclipsa's responsibility was to be a perfect example for Meteora, to keep and eye one her and to teach her everything she knows that is necessary and what's best for her daughter, and what I meant of what's best for her, I meant that as a Mother, you need to do good or bad things for right reasons. And that is exactly what Eclipsa did for her own daughter and the safety of Mewni.

Eclipsa was said to not be able to use magic without the wand and never unlocked her butterfly form, meaning she didn't really "graduate" her princess training before being sealed away. Meteora was also VERY strong in magic despite only just awakening it.
That’s why the Solarian army plot kinda sucked. Eclipsa was nerfed to the point she couldn’t win against one without using the spell with no name. I mean maybe if there was only one armour and everyone else just had the warrior buff. Or the blades weren’t anti monster magic. (What even was that?)

Yet in the last arc the Solarian army was such a dominant force that it seemed one sided. Even in Solaria's time the monsters were said to be a force to be reckoned with.

There’s still a person named Meteora with Meteora’s genetic Make-up after this, but Meteora as a person was erased here. The Meteora that lived life as Heinous really is for all intents and purposes dead. Eclipsa still knew she was killing that person. Even knowing she’ll get a second life, that still fucking sucks as a just-reunited mother.

Hey, I noticed something. When you pause this video at 0:24 at the top part of Eclipse’s wand turn into an umbrella you’ll see that the top is of the planet Saturn. Which made me think of Sailor Moon. I know they two completely different however it is the mean of Sailor Saturn that makes me think of Eclipse’s power. In Sailor moon it is said that Saturn is of the Solider of Silence and Destruction. However, there is more to it. Saturn is also know as Solider of Ruin and Rebirth.
“Always in the end, comes Hope and Rebirth.” They confuse the dark powers of Saturn as evil without understanding the whole truth behind the rest of it. All they heard is destruction and think it is evil dark powers. Eclipse makes me think of Sailor Saturn every time. And I believe that the both of them are the strongest.

Not only the ambiguity: They reversed 1 and a half seasons worth of character development with Moon ffs!
It is not the authors blame though: It is disneys crappy "65th episode rule (reduce production cost at all costs)"

From what I heard they had knew ahead of time they were only getting one more season but instead of wrapping up the story nicely, they decided to do shipping filler. now we know that anyone can actually use it even w/o butterfly blood(since the royal family from after eclipsa is fraud)
Though Im not actually very familiar with this show, Im pretty sure the argument is because Marco has symbols on his cheeks. When people who werent part of the family used the wand they didnt have symbols. Though it also doesnt make sense because star has symbols on her cheeks as well.

You know what is really impressive? Eclipsa didn't do a "Butterfly" transformation like Star or Moon do when they get serious. She was able to completely dominate this battle without taking a hit, and she was using maybe 1% of her full strength. And at 1%, she's stronger than Moon and Star in "Butterfly Mode" COMBINED.
To be fair, Meteora wasn't really fighting back?
Even so, it's still very impressive all she needed was two spells to take her down as where Moon and Star didn't nearly dent her as much in Butterfly form.
Ecilpsa must have raw magic of true Butterfly line, and a lot of experience with the wand clearly.

Like how b4 is a move in chess that mimics Eclipsa and Moon's first interaction, or how she talked about evil cooties when the cootie is another name for the Queen of spades. You could even talk about how in old America white women dating black men were called The queen of spades mirroring her relationship with Globgor. And that's without talking about the other symbolism associated with her...

Shanriel Mortuis perhaps... But I'd say the main inspiration is Pluto. From the way the energy spirals towards the orb, the way she aims her wand, to the way she utters "midnight shriek" having the sane tone and speed as "deadly scream", with a brief pause between words.

This almost made me cry...because this was a fight between a mother-in-law daughter relationship, and meteora didn't expect this from her own mother, Eclipsa, actually, nobody didn't expect this either, and for knowing that your own mother betrayed you, I know Meteora was doing a bad thing but it wasn't her fault that she have gone crazy and had lost control, the High commission, well ecxept for the earlier Queens of mewnie, Queens before Festivia, themselves, was the cause of all the destruction, and the one that who had stopped that destruction was the one that the High Commission misjudged, I know that it was Eclipsa's responsibility was to be a perfect example for Meteora, to keep and eye one her and to teach her everything she knows that is necessary and what's best for her daughter, and what I meant of what's best for her, I meant that as a Mother, you need to do good or bad things for right reasons. And that is exactly what Eclipsa did for her own daughter and the safety of Mewni.

Although it seems maybe true butterflies don't have any butterfly forms or maybe don't know how to dip down properly (maybe just eclipsa) when it comes to them using their wands they are powerful af
I think it’s just cause I looked to fast but when Eclipsa first grabbed the wand i thought it was moon until it changed into her parasol
