I did not know that the Peter Brotzman had passed away , I was able to see him perform in Austin , Texas many times and had several great conversations with him . Thank you Peter for taking us on a trip with you and living life to the fullest. RIP my friend .
As a 17 year old, in 1986, I can't tell you that I would've liked this. But if this was actually broadcast on TV, like it was in Frankfurt Germany, at least I would've had the chance to see it.
@@mglaser6811don’t forget Ronald Shannon Jackson. Bill’s the only one left, and his health is beginning to take a turn for the worst. I hope he stays with us comfortably and for a longer time.
help me, i can actually follow and totally dig this. perhaps an interesting side note: i emailed my mom, a German immigrant from near Frankfurt (Wiesbaden) circa 1959, to tell her that her that her long lost, and presumed dead, jazz drummer Onkel Franz, who was in the German merchant marine during the war and played jazz clubs in Tripoli, among those throughout that region after it, probably would not have missed this concert. I turned out to be a drummer too, and you know, my brain is better than my hands. And I'm ok with that. I've always had a natural life-long passion for music and I'm so thankful. life would be dreary without it.
Each member of LAST EXIT are Monsters Musicians in their own right! For me Bill Laswell is GAWD like on Earth. Last Exit NEVER rehearses, they just Go.
youtube: "your video looks a bit shaky- do you want us to stabilise it for you?" me: "no. not ever. never ever do that." N3 exec: "what's going on with our bug?" & so on. please, YT, switch that thing the fuck off.
Of all the music I played growing up, my mom hated last exit the most. she said the saxophone sounded like a pig being slaughtered. I said she was right and that was the point, but what can you expect from a Spyro Gyra fan? Last Exit is not your mom's jazz quartet.
At least you and your mom _knew_ about them! Here in America Free Jazz was, and still is, being actively suppressed. Nowadays, you can't even find a band like Spyro Gyra, unless you really hit what few clubs are left.
RIP Peter Brötzmann March 6, 1941 - June 22, 2023. Thank you for inspiring us all.
Free spirits...holy sounds 😇💪👍👍👍
A true legend has entered the big eternal free jazz jam!
I like how Bill Laswell always seems to be dressed like a 15th century sculptor or some shit.
Hambone Jones I think it's more about "Che Guavara Look" than 15th Century sculptor style
Kipas Angin What is difference senor angin?
some sense of 'guerilla military' look
Bill still pulls that look off..
15th century bebop hipster pizza chef peasant professor defrocked priest.
Just love Sharrock. What a monster, holy shit.
Paiste Rudes and double kick drums at a jazz gig. HELL YEAH
I watch this whenever I need slapped out of my doldrums.
Yeah, with his blast beats he would’ve done well in a black metal band.

True hardcore music
Rest in peace, Peter Brötzmann
I'm going to play like this on my next restaurant gig. I just hope the other members of the band do.
This is how you are supposed to play jazz!
This is one of the many ways to play it.
As a 17 year old, in 1986, I can't tell you that I would've liked this. But if this was actually broadcast on TV, like it was in Frankfurt Germany, at least I would've had the chance to see it.
Love this, Sharrock is the truth. My kind of music, my kind of people dig this!
RIP Ronald Shannon Jackson (January 12, 1940 - October 19, 2013)
This is an incredible historical document.
drum in peace
Sharrock is my favorite in this. I love his facial expressions and intensity, and obviously huge enjoyment of the whole show. Infectious and lovely.
Brotzmann and Sharrock at about 23.30... Jesus what a sight, Jesus what a sound.
You are so right. Pure communication
SOME OF THE HEAVIEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD
Brotzmann's on fire here! Great lineup amazing show. Ronald Shannon Jackson, on Fire here! Wow!
Thanks for posting... Last Exit was even better live than on the recordings. Sharrock was a true genius, much missed!
He was where Hendrix should have ended up!
One of the greatest, period. Definitely missed and still inspiring.
May God bless you...Sonny Sharrock and Peter Brötzmann...😇👍👍👍

Some of the most unrestrained music I've ever heard!
Totally mind blowing!
Each member of LAST EXIT are Monsters Musicians in their own right!
For me Bill Laswell is GAWD like on Earth.
Last Exit NEVER rehearses, they just Go.
a TRUE!! heavy metal band!
the real deal!
Awesome gig! Love chaos theory in music! 10/10
Göttlich. Brötzmann erschafft neue Klangwelten, genauso urkomisch wie erfurchtgebietend. Einfach gut..
Seh ich auch so...schade, dass Brötzmann und Sharrock nicht mehr unter uns weilen...waren echt kühne Recken 😇👍👍👍
I saw them live in vienna. Unbelievable !
17:00 - Bill Laswells just like "why the fuck do I play bass"
Amazing performance! Loud, raucous, and ferocious! Such talent!

No roadies for Sonny changes his own broken string.

This ain’t the Last Exit that used to have sting in them?? Thought the rest of them might have carried on after he left to form the police in 1977??
Hahaha...
Avant gerden
Crap ..but at least they got to open for Kenny G!
Ha!
Sounds like garbage. Even early Mahavishnu sounded more appealing (and more technically impressive) than this.
You sound ignorant
