Yeah thought all three games sucked compared to the NES and SNES DBZ RPG games :P The real time battles are so dull, i hope LoG4 will correct this mistake
I wish they made a remake of the original Legacy of Goku game with the same gameplay as the sequels, cause the sequels greatly improved on where the first game failed in gameplay. It's a shame too, cause I like how the first game covered the entire Saiyan and Frieza sagas (which are my favorite DBZ storylines), but hate how boring the game is compared to its sequels.
@@santiinx737 Greetings from the future and I have to agree. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is pretty much a successor to the Legacy of Goku series. That being said, I wish Beerus was base game instead of DLC and that Cooler was once again a secret boss.
I think the second one and buu's fury are slightly better, this one is awful, you can't even throw punches in boss battles cause you have to keep running away
This game...made me fear attacking anything for fear from being one shotted... Only real perks I wish that carried on the other games where the auto heal and fly whenever you want parts.
Naruku2121 theres actually an easter egg for the game. during the intro video of the game, if you press up, down, left, right, B, A youll hear a ring. load the game and you are invincible. might be three years late but hey! now ya know 👍
i loved this game so much...i still can remember the first time i reached radditz after completing those quests and my heart was just pumping so damn hard :D to hear the soundtrack now again after all these years...so beautiful
The game may not have been perfect to some people the you gotta admit the soundtrack this game so bad ass i loved every bit of this game and its amazing soundtrack legacy of goku u was the shit i don't care what anybody says
I remember gettin caught on the elementary school playground playin this game with my friend on my DS and havin a girl tell on me. had to wait a week later for my bro to get it for me in the school office because the DS was confiscated. good times 😂
The "+" move he does to freeze Frieza like that is the Solar Flare, which freezes the enemies. Enemies on the screen's border also did absolutely nothing until provoked with ki blasts. This was true of all 3 titles. #2 and #3 introduced a stun animation mechanic that happened after an enemy was hit, so obliterating an enemy with repeated punches made the game open and shut from the beginning.
I love all 3 games cause they are all unique in their own way. Legacy of Goku was a lot of fun and the music and old graphic style made it unique and different from the others. flying was also a cool feature they didn't continue in the other two games (world map flight doesn't really count cause that was completely different). when I first got this game I played it for 4 hours straight from start to finish, didn't even get out of my chair once until the ending credits finished.
What I liked the most about this sequence was how they designed the ending music to play through the opening. You kind of see it from a more morose perspective than the excited way a kid opens his first game. That ending cutscene affected me for years.
Yeah, basically. The further you are the more of a dumb ass the AI is but get too close and a hit can take out a great majority of your life so the best way to win is to spam Ki attacks, fly away, repeat.
To make this final battle more anti-climactic, start flying when Frieza charges up an energy beam. Then let it hit you. The game glitches out, thinking that Goku is still flying, but you get grounded from the energy blast. So Frieza just stands there and lets you beat him to death.
I remember accidentaly deleting my save at this point. I cried like 3 hours till i finally got the fuck up and played the whole game again. Aaah childhood.. where the fuck did you go? Now i´m 23 and life kinda sucks..
This game could have been way better if they did it in the style of Legacy 2. I guess that's why improvements were made. The playable characters could have been Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, and Vegeta
I thought the speed increase would've made me hella faster, but I didn't even notice a difference. The soundtrack for this game was kinda epic for the GBA.
@TheShooterboy69 Well that's because the graphics were touchier in this game. Actually hitting ANY enemy without getting hurt was practically impossible.
It's amazing how they totally killed all the epicness from the Goku vs Frieza fight. Goku is reduced to having to flash, hit, then run the hell away. So much for the legendary super saiyan.
man I love this game and the sequals the only thing I never liked about this version is that there was no health bars for the bosses but it was still awesome.
Legacy of Goku 2 is actually one of my favorite games of all time. I have to say though, the first one looks like some kind of bootleg game by comparison.
I didn't expect Frieza would let you hit him so often without even trying to retaliate... Then... what's the difference between his 4 forms, the speed, the scenery and the music? They all have the same attack :P
this is the frist i ever played and for7 years i could never get past the frist level then when i played it again i beat in half an hour i still love this game
This game was fun. That I can say honestly. Only thing that would make me turn away from it was how easy it was to get one shotted. Still, I played it to the end. LoG2 and Buu's Fury are better, but this was still amazing.
Why didn't they use this super saiyan pick for goku, in the other two games. It always looked menacing and cool to me as a kid. Also why didn't you draw him over the area Gohan and Krillin were hangin at? I used to love beating him up in front of them.
It really felt like these weren't battles. The music was great but it didn't feel like these characters were animated all that much. They had limited movement, limited range, and since you could get one-shotted easily, it was always just hit and run with solar flare. Thankfully the sequels fixed these problems in every way.
I thought It was cool enough for a gba, this game reallu brings back memories of when I was a kid. and come on man what did you expect you are not playing it on a ps4 or anything of that nature it was actually pretty cool and fun game to play and kill time.
How could goku get in the chamber thingy by himself, when he was beat up and could barely move in the anime?!?! I mean come on I know it was shortly released after GBA but come on, seriously. How could they get that wrong?!?
Ruvik Yes. The difficultly in this game was needlessly frustrating. Beating the game was more of a statement against the game itself. Luckily Solar Flare made everything easier.
I love how it's supposed to be this epic final battle, and they're just walking around.

Going for a stroll with the enemy, while occasionally shooting energy balls at him. Epic
I love how epic the final battle is whenever Frieza transforms into his final form, especially that music!
The soundtrack is quite literally the only silver lining to this otherwise terrible game. One of the best soundtracks on the GBA
