    Well up to muster guys, nice little vlog. Malcolm Olding, missing the point entirely, this is Minimal List channel....chit chat,slow and speedy scenery, George with pixelated poop shots, Michael reversing like a stealth fighter and Jo correcting,managing,coping and of course loving Michael. There is no room for 'instead'. As you are guys,as you are.........

    Yes the Large track ball. I have used a few, very large track ball devices, the larger ones have an entirely different feel, there are some designed especially for drafting/CAD work and they are a class all of their own.
    What I like about the better ones, is they turn a gross motor movement into a a delicate and controllable movement. The better ones can be almost down right addictive. Ha Ha

    • @MinimalList
      @MinimalList  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s why I prefer them, along with reduced RSI… but trackballs do make certain kinds of interaction harder. Ideally of course you’ve got all of the peripherals and you can just swap between them! M

    Keep up the chit chats I love them, my husband and I are just the same. We did a test run last year before hopefully becoming continuous cruisers this year and we would stop somewhere for a couple of days and ending up staying longer. To me that is the idea seeing places we have not been to before. Carry on cruising.

    Severn Valley Railway runs over the bridge between Locks 4 & 5. If we manage to get on a hire boat next year, we'll be certain to spend a day on the rails as well. Excellent as always. I'm slowly catching up from Vlog No. 1 and forward, with occasional jumps into newer material.

    Speaking as a non-boater, but a regular frequenter of canals and waterways, my view of Britain's watery environment is this: 10% is genuinely attractive or beautiful, 30% is rural but unremarkable, 50% is rural-urban hinterland, 10% is dodgy. Boaters who can afford to stick to the top 10%, most stay in the top 40% and rarely if ever venture further. To continuously cruise you have to appreciate the lumpen 50%, with a few as happy to dwell among the dodgy as the beautiful. CCing requires a high degree of pragmatism or a thick skin.

    • @MinimalList
      @MinimalList  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We are learning that. There are few places that we don’t like at all and only one mooring that left us feeling unsafe. Not bad since we have been on the water for nearly two years.

    Just as nice second time around..nice stretch of canal....yes Kidderminster was big in carpets it was a big selling point for quality carpets when I was a lot younger but I suspect long gone now. So now we have to look out for Sainsbury's cookies as well as Lidl croissants.....but which one does George prefer ...but I expect both are one gulp and it's gone.

    • @MinimalList

      I've tried both, but I've developed some weird habits over the years ... I work best with either a large trackball or a Wacom-style tablet with stylus, though the latter is too specialized for a lot of tasks. M

    Hi Guys. Im watching your vlog from Australia. I grew up in Kidderminster and spent my youth fishing the canals you travelled through. They seem to have decided to move the bell recently, but they haven’t removed it entirely. Where it is depends a bit on how you’re watching; on my iPhone app it’s now to the right of the “subscribe” text near the channel logo, a little bit under the video itself. M

    • @MinimalList
      @MinimalList  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Asian street food is my favourite! Indian and Indonesian, especially Javan are my absolute favourites. It’s so easy to be vegetarian in those two countries. As for snacks on the canals we don’t eat out that often so it’s either fish and chips or Indian food it we treat ourselves!

      Only joking, great video as usual.
      And as for the church bells...
      If the bells strike quarter hours then you should get one sequence at quarter past, two sequences at half past, three sequences at quarter to, and all four sequences on the hour.
      And then as many bongs as the number of the hour concerned.

    I see Michael is still having issues with the outro... I was going to suggest he just hold up a card with the info and point to each option, but then chances are he would hold the sign upside down and we would all be back to square one.... No worries, it makes for great drama each time we start to watch a new vlog ; will Michael nail the outro this time, if so will he be struck by lightning, will it be another fail or will Jo push him out to the shot and take over....... stay tuned for the next episode of Michael's Great Outro Adventures or Just Too Many Dam Likes, Bells and Subscribes for Me. Enjoyed the video as always. I always wondered, how do you have access to a car when on the cut? Do you have to move the car along side to where you currently are moored? Do you centrally locate the car? Do you have to arrange for parking? Just curious, because I think I would need a car to get around. I see that sometimes you take the train. Thanks for any info but don't give away any secrets.

    • @MinimalList

      We don’t have a car. We rely on public transport and will occasionally borrow a car from family if we are doing work on the boat. Some people who do continuously cruise do have one with them and it must come in handy but they always have to walk back or get a train to go and pick it up and drive it to where the boat is!
