This is a terrible idea. Why not make a cheap yet effective BRT service, maybe even a tram line if not a full-fledged metro? Pods are one of the worst and least efficient "public transit" ideas - this is only meant to look fancy and high-tech, while actually it is neither.
My suggestion is Monorail also should have extended tgru Kurla BKC Andheri and Pawai etc from chembur. This route can be made profitable and recover from existing loss.
I have the same idea. A monorail or trolley based tram system like the one being considered for Kochi would have been perfect for the business complex.
I had tweeted about this. The calculations don't seem to make sense. Let's take a min of 4 lakh commuters, a max frequency of 15 seconds and seating capacity of 6 per pod. In one minute, the system can carry 24 people. So it will need 16,666 minutes to carry all people. That means approx 11 days to carry one day's passengers. Even if we assume 3X betterment due to better throughput etc., it will be nowhere close to solving the issue.
The better idea would have been to connect harbour line @Kurla with western line @Bandra with elevated local corridor like between wadala and Mahim with a station @BKC. This would connect BKC to all 3 local lines. Few years ago this was planned but dont know why it got scrapped? This would also solve the problem of connectivity between western suburbs and Navi-mumbai.
Nobody can solve India's traffic problem because it's not the space that's the problem but people.People just want to make their house on the road without any fear.
Can you cover more important and pain issues affecting Bombay like PATHETIC state of roads and the CORRUPTION behind all the construction activity affecting bridges, roads infra?
Nothing gonna help, govt. should speak to corporates n try to have 1-2 day(s) wfh coordinated across industries. Cities are getting choked and meanwhile such massive infrastructure gets ready there is proportionate increase in the working population influx. Expecting equitable distribution of corporates across states is a farce, hence, we should work to ensure cities don't get choked at least.
oh my god you marathis are absolutely full of hate for the Bullet train project! Listen, if you don't want it, simply don't use once it is ready. Stop biching about it constantly. There are enough people who can pay for it and will use it. Get your broke ass outta here.

Announcement before election, don’t take it seriously
It would be much easier to make pedestrian friendly roads and bridges connecting BKC with the suburban rail stations.

Need a Metro between Kurla and Bandra .... instead of PAD Taxi, normal man will not be able to to afford it
Any how long will it take ? 10 years.
That damn never-materialising metro 2B , going via BKC ,doesnt it connect bandra east and kurla west ?
The recording volume is very low and not upto the mark as that of Shekhar Gupta’s recording’s

Why don't they start elevated trolley bus just like train they are cheaper and lighter than battery bus
So now no more road will be left for other vehicles 🙂
