    What a delight to watch. HMS Warspite was not the biggest dreadnought; she was not the fastest, nor even the most heavily armed. But she did everything that a dreadnought could be expected to do and she did it with panache. She was indisputably the greatest dreadnought that ever sailed.

    I had similar problems with my 1/100 Typhoon submarine. I also used a crane to handle it, but also to launch it. I had a device that resembles the system CIA used to lift the sunken Soviet submarine into the Glomar Explorer. As my model is made of steel, it itself is a bit heavy...

    Brilliant work by Colin on Warspite.......But the whole unloading process is overly complicated! My clubmate has a 1/72 USS Missouri BB63 with its own car trailer too, its sits on the launch trolley in the trailer and is a lot simpler to unload just attach 2 ramps to back of trailer for trolley and roll it out. Then ballast and batteries are added and trolley is rolled into water.

      reply from colin.
      Believe it or not the only photos/ video of my ladder launching system are the ones you took.
      Unfortunately I never did any drawings either, and as I told you when we last met I have altered the system and it was constructed as I went along.
      But basically I cut the ladder to suit the length of my model, the off cut was attached with a suitable hinge, elevation by means of a bottle jack, conduit tubing for the axles and trolley wheels, originally cradles to put the model in but now I have replaced them with trolleys that roll down rails on the ladder system with the models on.
      Hope this helps ?

    The removal of your model from the trailer and onto a much lower launching trailer is pure theatre. I think you need to develop just one trolley that will lower your model from the trailer to launch height in one go. You would have it in the water much quicker.

    Seems overly complicated evolution.
    A slide out drawer like contraption. Aluminum rails on rollers. Slides out back, handcrank jib or small crane you can order from SummitRacing.com. Or just make the whole trailer able to back into the water a bit where the aluminum rails reach the water.

    • @rcmodelwarships6893
      @rcmodelwarships6893  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unlike watermead lake that has a boating ramp, most lakes for model boating dont have a ramp where the trailer can be backed into the water. they normally have a bank or wall going around them so depending on what the lake is like Colin can adjust his launch to suit.

    Fantastic Model and credit where its due, but talk about farting about - a trolley like the first one which can raise (jack) up will eliminate the need for the 'cranes' and the ladder. Seems like a bit of a performance...

    • @rcmodelwarships6893
      @rcmodelwarships6893  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the particular lake the ship was sailing on there was a ramp to access the water. most lakes have no ramp and simply have a bank that you have to lift the boat down. some ponds or lakes have a 1ft wall surrounding them to stop flooding. Colin has built a system which allows him to launch the large and heavy ship to fit all occasions.

    • @harrypalmer6228
      @harrypalmer6228 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rcmodelwarships6893 Ref the 1 ft wall - I can't see him being able to get the model from the 1st trolley and then onto the side of the trailer and then manoeuvring the trailer presumably by car owing to weight) alongside the wall to get the model in off of his crane? Not knocking his skills, but I think a simplified system is possible.
