- On Sunday, November 23, 2008 - The first national touring cast of the 8x Tony Award winning Broadway smash Spring Awakening performed a special night of music, nostalgia, and charity entitled SPRING AWAKENING LOVES THE 90's to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS at L.A.'s renowned Upright Cabaret at Mark's Restaurant in West Hollywood. Upright producers/Hosts Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel welcomed KYLE RIABKO, BLAKE BASHOFF, CHASE DAVIDSON, ANTHONY LEE MEDINA, ANDY MIENTUS, BEN MOSS, PERRY SHERMAN, LUCAS WELLS and MATT SHINGLEDECKER with Music Director JARED STEIN and FREDDY HALL and MARQUES WALLS to the Upright Stage performing A Comet On Its Way (which was never recorded) from the original workshops of Spring Awakening. My favorite part of the whole song is when Blake sings "good old Lisa, Christ she seems so..etc". I don't know why I think it's a combination of his amazingness and Kyle on guitar but it gets me everytime.

When I hear this song, I have to listen to it like 5 times over. It's ridiculously catchy. And it's so funny watching Andy and Blake next to each other. Blake stands so still and Andy can barely contain himself!

I'm not entirely sure. "Nightly, too unreal" to me says, perhaps, that every night they think about these girls (such as Moritz and his dreams about the "dark, horrible phantasm"). "Christ, such whole, like, deals" is a bit harder to decipher. Whatever the meaning, I still love the song! They should've kept this AND Bitch of Living. And kept There Once Was A Pirate in place of Guilty Ones, and moved Guilty Ones in place of Whispering. I'm not that fond of Whispering, and Guilty Ones works more.
