I was gonna say that! I miss when HL had a Visa card in their name, when you would get gift cards after you spent a certain amount. I would filter as many bills as I could, through it, pay off the balance each month and come to a clearance armed to the teeth with gift cards.😂
Loops & Threads is not that great, and Michael's has not been stocking much else. I don't love Hobby Lobby as an organization, but their yarn section is pretty nice.
Hi Juan, I started crocheting in 1973 when I was 9. My grandma was a manager at woolworths, and she would get the yarn we used from there. I use Hero crochet hooks mostly. My grandma would take me to work with her, and I would sit at the cafe counter and crochet. Good times, great memories. Thanks for sharing💜🌻🤗

You are my kind of man! My mother taught me....out of necessity...never pay full price for ANYTHING if you can help it. At her memorial service, my older daughter gave a brief eulogy and an emphasis was put on, "Grandma always said when we went shopping (which was often!) we start with the clearance racks. If we don't find what we're looking for, we move up to the Sale racks. Only if we're desperate do we pay full price! By next week those full price items will probably be on sale! We can come back!" My mom taught two generations well, lol! It pains me to get stuck with full price on anything. Like you I stock up when things are on sale. Like you, I never know what pattern or tutorial may inspire me and I hate to have to wait for an order to arrive!!! Worse, have to go shopping. Covid really spoiled me on getting to stay home and order online. Groceries I have to pick-up but they bring them to my car. Otherwise I hardly ever have to shop. I love it. I can spend that time doing things I enjoy! Love your content. I thought your take on Hobby Lobby was spot on. I go there once or twice a year and get a few yarns I really like of theirs. Otherwise I bargain shoo online. Amazon is so NOT the place to buy yarn, lol. I check Michaels' prices for buying in bulk. I got a 15 pack of Facets yarn for $58 incl shipping where its usually 5.99, on sale for $4.19. Never had to leave the house 😆

When you purchase yarns without a specific project in mind how many skeins do you get? I’m not sure how many to get when I find a yarn I like. I’ll accept any recommendations you can offer me 😊❤gayle

Your channel just showed up in my feed…I’m like you when it comes to my craft $$, I still have yarn from Woolworth and tons of it when they were going out of business that I bought for .50 - $1. Have Lion Brand jiffy, Caron 1 pounders, Bernat and of course my RH. If it’s on clearance or a great sale I’ll stack up. Forget Michaels, we have one lousy yarn isle. Also their prices are way higher than JoeAnns. I will admit I knit with more high end wool yarns. We just had the NYC Yarn Crawl, lots of discounts for the crawl. I was able to make a nice cowl and hat with Lion Brand Hometown acrylic from JoeAnns on sale. We don't have a Hobby Lobby near us. I spend more at Michaels on Art supplies, as I'm an Artist. Good prices on the yarns, and nice colors. I'm in the process of making a reversible cable scarf with HedgeHog Fibers hand dyed yarn from Ireland. Love the blend of the purple colors they look good together.
Watch the Red Heart. Got 3 big balls and two of the three were very uneven. They sent me a list of hoops to jump and I am going to makethe 50 Mike trip 100 Roundtrip to return to the. Store. Will go to Hobby Lobby for neater balls of 5be yarn.
I like that they have really good coordinating colors with varigated. I do like the "I love this cotton. It is a great yarn for the price and yardage. Oh my gosh Amazon, yes. Everyone says it's on Amazon and you don't pay shipping, no because you pay 2 or 3 times the price of an items. And my colors are blue and purple. I could fill a room with those colors. I am definitely a sale shopper.
I have lost my desire to shop at Michael’s for yarn years ago. I go there for acrylic paint (rock painting) and paintbrushes only. PS: Is it bad to say I prefer horizontal videos? It fills my iPad screen
I just found you and subscribed. All the stores that you mentioned are an hour from me. I live in rural Indiana. I get catalogs from mary maxim and from Herrschners. I usually buy from Herrschners. I've been buying from them almost 50 years. When they have a sale it's usually a good one.
Our Michael's has been going downhill for some time. The same yarn is always there in the same place. Hardly anything new and certainly never rotated. Joann's has a lot of yarn but it's ... chaotic It's hard to muddle through. Hobby Lobby is always nice and neat. In fact there was a lady there working in the yarn aisles straightening up and such when I was there yesterday. I don't find they're that much higher than either of the other two - certainly a better selection than Michael's. I can certainly find what I need easier at HL so I just make sure I go during sale weeks. Nice choices of yarn!
I love the colorways of all the yarn you got, i like hobby lobby, its not my favorite but i do like it. Same thing with the bags here in Massachusetts. I have yet to make a corner to corner blanket, but ive been watching your videos and your definitely inspiring me with all your beautiful blankets😊.
I go to hobby lobby often, their value yarn is call I love this yarn and is so soft, and they have this sales about every 6 month or so, you can get 600 dollars worth of yarn for 150 to 200 depending of what you buy...and it is always stock. .. the joann here where i live do not worth the trip ...
Thanks Juan but I will no longer shop at Hobby Lobby for anything as they recently decided they will no longer cater to Jews by carrying Hannukah products etc. They said they had no intention of changing their position. Don't know if this decision is a result of condemning Israel and their war but regardless I am not interested in spending my money on a company like this.

I buy on amazon and they do get good prices on some yarns also every year hobby lobby has a massive sale where a lot of yarns are 75 percent off at least they do here where i live in pa i picked up 8 dollar yarns for under 1.50 and 5 for .99 cents so it evens out in the long run i think michaels is very expensive but joann is good but i like mary maxim and herschnners too just found your channel like it a lot love bagoday too
Two yarn rooms is awesome. I have someone coming over to help me get my yarn in order. I have shelves to put together and then separate into sections. Not a lot of yarn but my room is a mess.
I love this yarn from hobby lobby is my go to yarn, like you with red heart. They have 2 clearance sales during the year and I stock up!! I think you will really enjoy working with it. Their I love this cotton is also wonderful and comes in several colors.
You’re so right about the yarn saving. I found this hideous yarn years ago ata Savers but it was wool and dirt cheap so it’s been sitting there, a couple pounds of it. Well now I decided I want to make a super warm puffy crochet quilt for my winter camping. So I mean warm. All the discount worsted weight yarn came out and the ugly stuff too, I’ll mix it in creatively and the ones not the right size will be filler for inside of the squares! Buying actual wool stuffing is pricey so anyway, I’m super happy and I use the word hoarding but the difference is I DO actually use the yarn quite often. Some months I can only afford a skein so I’m always dipping into my stash. Great video! I don’t have a hobby llobby and the websites kinda pricey but if I run across one in my travels I’ll check it out!!
Just FYI Hobby Lobby has a clearance sale once a year and another dye lot sale once a year where you can get their yarn for anywhere from say 0.69 to 1.99 or if you get the hanks then a little more. But you can't beat the prices anywhere for that. But I agree find yarn for the cheapest that you can.
I was at hobby lobby today as well picked up only what I needed which was 4balls of Print I love this yarn. I'm like you and others who value the dollar for our craft. If you can get it cheaper do that. Thanks for sharing😊

Giving back is awesome! I work with Knots of Love. My church crochet group make hats for cancer patients and veterans. They also take baby blankets for NICU babies. We also just started to give to foster kids and homeless people! Love you Juan... and Crystal too!!!!

As a disabled person who has limited transportation options, I often shop yard sales (an activity that I enjoy doing with my Dad), Walmart and my local Hobby Lobby. I LOVE the “I love this yarn” brand- my favorite! Love the color options and how soft it is for a 4 wt yarn. There is a JoAnns and a Michaels in my town, but getting there is a challenge at times for me. So, I stick with what I can get and I’m content. Some of us- yes, we have limited finances and would LOVE to find cheaper yarn all over town- but what’s that phrase- beggars can’t be choosers.
Purple is my favorite color too! I love Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" it's so nice to work with. I'm super excited to take a trip to your "other" yarn room. How fun to have TWO yarn rooms. I'm just keeping stuff in totes and crocheting in my living room as I don't have a yarn room but SOMEDAY I will have a kid move out or we will upgrade to a bigger house and I will strive to have my own yarn room. Loved Woolworths! Then it went out of business 😢. So the we got Ben Franklin😊 Then they went out of business 😞😭. I go to Hobby Lobby, Michael's Joann's or Walmart. Though they are they seem to parings down on a lot the yarns. Have been getting yarn from Mary Maxim on their clearance a long with needles and hooks. Doing binge watching!
Ĥobby Lobby is my #3 choice for average and economy yarns.. JOannis #1, Wal-Mart is #2, Michael 's gets # 4. I'm lucky to have have well stocked shelves at two local Wal-Marts. On the other hand, my Michael's is seldom stocked, often with one offering in the bins. I do a lot of on-line shopping because of my health. Thank goodness for on- line and TH-cam people to tell me how the yarn feels and works up.
Catch up viewing. 2 rooms filled with yarn oooh bliss!!! Since Covid most of our high street shops have been struggling to keep up supplies of yarn. If you watch Tracy's vids she went to Hobby Craft recently and they used to have an amazing selection but now much reduced and more expensive. You have to search around to find a store that has recently stocked up and buy it when they have it because they seem to let their supplies run down to a bare minimum before re-stocking.
Juan, I'm a little late to this video, lol.. I've gotten some nice things at the sales (and stuff that I wonder what I was rhinking) and never buy on the off sale week. HL is a bit of a drive, so I go there rarely. I never pay full price for yarn either. Yes, I very much remember Woolworth's! My friend loved to go there for lunch, so cheap! The best time to shop Hobby Lobby's yarn is during one of their two yearly yarn clearance sales. That's when they mark down specific yarn lines/colors by 75%. I save up just to shop HL yarn clearance. My very first time at a Hobby Lobby yarn clearance I bought so much yarn. The cotton was $ .89 a skein and they had hand dyed yarn for just over $3. If you ever get the chance to shop a Hobby Lobby clearance you will love it! If you want to get an idea of what you can find at a HL yarn clearance just do a search on TH-cam for Hobby Lobby yarn clearance.
I'm a Hobby Lobby girl for big box stores, but I'm an Ice yarns and Premier girl all the way. Love the yarn you chose. Cinnamon cedar is my favorite colorway. Great haul!
Hobby Lobby clearance sales 2 times a year is the best! I never pay over $1.89 per skein/ball. It is really something. I appreciate your thoughts about yarn prices. It is quite ridiculous. I am on the west coast and it is very expensive even Walmart is higher priced on Red Heart, etc... blessings
I love their yarns except I find it expensive. We don't have 3 full rows and this year there cut way back( some other stores too ) And they only sell their brand. And maybe some premier...😊🧡✌️
The Joann's in my area doesn't have a whole lot of anything, but still prefer them over Michael's. Michael's near me has monster mega holes in their yarn section. Hobby Lobby is always stocked and I'm near the smaller one near me more often, and I can always send my husband down there for something if I need it. Its less than 5 mins from where he works. The cashiers always giggle at my Joann's reusable bags. But the other Hobby Lobby, wont even use my reusable bags, I don't understand why. I don't get over to the other craft stores often, maybe once a month. Despite the bad wrap and publicity they get, my local Hobby Lobby store is so nice and helpful. My daughter makes jewlery and she prefers their selection over Michael's. I don't like that they quit doing coupons because someone abused their coupon policy.
I must ask a ? - do you knit as well as crochet ? I ask because you say needle a lot and if it is crochet it is using a hook lol must be just out of habit , you haven't talked to many people who are like us yarn yarn yarn crochet crochet crochet ! I like Hobby Lobby's annual sale , you can get skeins of yarn for real real cheap as low as .69cents when on a small budget this is great ! I got $400.00 last year for about $120.00
Hobby Lobby is quite a distance from me so I only go when they have their clearance, and OMG what a clearance it is. You might want to check out some of the Hobby Lobby clearance hauls on TH-cam.

I have used a lot of Hobby Lobby yarn including the I love this yarn. It's a very nice soft yarn, washes and dries great. They had one called Chloe that I wish they still carried, it was a beautiful roving style yarn. That and their Prima cotton, I found only one skein and it was so soft. I really am enjoying your yarn reviews, your honest. I will be also looking at more tutorials from you as well. Thanks for your videos.

Their yarn, even the cotton, is so incredibly soft! And Caron One Pound! A few years ago, back when Walmart sold it online, I stalked it (because the prices fluctuated daily-I still have the screenshots). I wound up getting a ton of “taupe” for $2.37 each! Oh, hon, they were putting up Christmas back in June... 😅😂🤣😂😅 And honestly, even though I like Hobby Lobby's yarns, I DON'T like their politics nor some of their policies, so I shop there sparingly (pretty much clearance only) as I don't want to give them any more profit than I can help. Even KNOWING what Woolworths was really tells your age...😅 I remember going to Woolworths as a child, but not for yarn. Hi 👋🏽 The algorithm decided to pop you up in my “ New to you” feed. I too am a natural born Delawarean, now planted in Texas. I too crochet and most times go to JoAnn Fabrics before I even look at Michael’s. But HL is my luxury store 😂 I love their yarns 🤷🏽♀️But I do miss the 40% off they used to have. But I will tell you this: HL, every year has a 75% off clearance sale that is stellar! And no sale from any competitors will every beat it 💯 My first one was July 2019, and I only got a little, but saw others online that had been way smarter than me, and had gotten more. So in 2021 I went and got what I knew I would use, and some weights of yarn I have never used. Now I am glad I went. I have yarns that are fitting what I want to make perfectly and I can just shop my stash. Don’t close your book on HL, they are better than you think. 🧶🧶🧶🧶 P.S. Send Rappa Scrapple ASAP, they have no clue what scrapple is here 🤦🏽♀️🤣

I seldom go there to shop. The one time I went just looking around for yarn, I was impressed. And still am. They put out coupons too. The yarn is softer. It's not always about the cost. I like their color choices.

I mostly go to Hobby Lobby on their big sales where I can get $400-$500 in sale yarn for $75 to $90 for all. Occasionally I'll go there on biweekly sales to buy particular yarn for a project. I Love This Yarn is about my favorite brand. Can't wait to see how the Cinnamon Cedar colorway works up, love that color. Woo, the purple will be gorgeous!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I love Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton! It's my go-to for Amigurumi for cotton projects. I was hoping you had grabbed some of that. You got the most beautiful purple yarn! Yarnspriations has a C2C blanket pattern. Take a look and see if it inspires you for your project. I made that blanket for my mom for Christmas a few years back. I used Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend (discontinued now) in solid navy blue, solid white (cream) and blue variegated (I think it was called Ocean or something similar). It turned out great. So just for you as you are a hobby lobby newbie lol watch the channels and then check your store they have 2 big clearance times I have walked out of there on more than 1 occasion with 3 carts of yarn for barely $100
I am just getting back to crocheting. I wish I had found out about you prior to a major yarn purchase I made. The one bigger question that I have is I know the stitches, but starting and getting going on the first row (or two), always seems to be a bit of a mess to me. Is there any way I can make a more stable start to the projects I want to do?

Our Michael's has been going downhill for some time. The same yarn is always there in the same place. Hardly anything new and certainly never rotated. Joann's has a lot of yarn but it's ... chaotic It's hard to muddle through. Hobby Lobby is always nice and neat. In fact there was a lady there working in the yarn aisles straightening up and such when I was there yesterday. I don't find they're that much higher than either of the other two - certainly a better selection than Michael's. I can certainly find what I need easier at HL so I just make sure I go during sale weeks. Nice choices of yarn!

I love the colorways of all the yarn you got, i like hobby lobby, its not my favorite but i do like it. Same thing with the bags here in Massachusetts. I have yet to make a corner to corner blanket, but ive been watching your videos and your definitely inspiring me with all your beautiful blankets😊.
I go to hobby lobby often, their value yarn is call I love this yarn and is so soft, and they have this sales about every 6 month or so, you can get 600 dollars worth of yarn for 150 to 200 depending of what you buy...and it is always stock. .. the joann here where i live do not worth the trip ...
Thanks Juan but I will no longer shop at Hobby Lobby for anything as they recently decided they will no longer cater to Jews by carrying Hannukah products etc. They said they had no intention of changing their position. Don't know if this decision is a result of condemning Israel and their war but regardless I am not interested in spending my money on a company like this.

I typically only go to hobby lobby when someone gives me a gift card. I don’t dislike it either,just not my go to.
I buy on amazon and they do get good prices on some yarns also every year hobby lobby has a massive sale where a lot of yarns are 75 percent off at least they do here where i live in pa i picked up 8 dollar yarns for under 1.50 and 5 for .99 cents so it evens out in the long run i think michaels is very expensive but joann is good but i like mary maxim and herschnners too just found your channel like it a lot love bagoday too
I love this yarn fromm hobby lobby is the only acrylic yarn I use. I even make make my amigurumi with it.
I only buy Caron cakes at Michaels. With a sale and I order online, pickup at store 👍

Two yarn rooms is awesome. I have someone coming over to help me get my yarn in order. I have shelves to put together and then separate into sections. Not a lot of yarn but my room is a mess.

I love this yarn from hobby lobby is my go to yarn, like you with red heart. They have 2 clearance sales during the year and I stock up!! I think you will really enjoy working with it. Their I love this cotton is also wonderful and comes in several colors.

You’re so right about the yarn saving. I found this hideous yarn years ago ata Savers but it was wool and dirt cheap so it’s been sitting there, a couple pounds of it. Well now I decided I want to make a super warm puffy crochet quilt for my winter camping. So I mean warm. All the discount worsted weight yarn came out and the ugly stuff too, I’ll mix it in creatively and the ones not the right size will be filler for inside of the squares! Buying actual wool stuffing is pricey so anyway, I’m super happy and I use the word hoarding but the difference is I DO actually use the yarn quite often. Some months I can only afford a skein so I’m always dipping into my stash. Great video! I don’t have a hobby llobby and the websites kinda pricey but if I run across one in my travels I’ll check it out!!
Forgot to mention I also used a stained wool sweater I’d meant to take apart for the yarn as stuffing. It is working out very well!
Just FYI Hobby Lobby has a clearance sale once a year and another dye lot sale once a year where you can get their yarn for anywhere from say 0.69 to 1.99 or if you get the hanks then a little more. But you can't beat the prices anywhere for that. But I agree find yarn for the cheapest that you can.
I was at hobby lobby today as well picked up only what I needed which was 4balls of Print I love this yarn. I'm like you and others who value the dollar for our craft. If you can get it cheaper do that. Thanks for sharing😊

I don’t think crafter’s secret is very soft. The I Love This Yarn however is VERY soft.

Juan, hobby lobby has really changed the last several mos. They got rid of all the yarns NOT hobby lobby and NO MORE coupons. Yes I only go to hobby lobby when they are 30% off. I’d like to ask you. When you purchase yarns without a specific project in mind how many skeins do you get? I’m not sure how many to get when I find a yarn I like. I’ll accept any recommendations you can offer me 😊❤gayle

As a disabled person who has limited transportation options, I often shop yard sales (an activity that I enjoy doing with my Dad), Walmart and my local Hobby Lobby. I LOVE the “I love this yarn” brand- my favorite! Love the color options and how soft it is for a 4 wt yarn. There is a JoAnns and a Michaels in my town, but getting there is a challenge at times for me. So, I stick with what I can get and I’m content. Some of us- yes, we have limited finances and would LOVE to find cheaper yarn all over town- but what’s that phrase- beggars can’t be choosers.
Purple is my favorite color too! I love Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" it's so nice to work with. I'm super excited to take a trip to your "other" yarn room. How fun to have TWO yarn rooms. I'm just keeping stuff in totes and crocheting in my living room as I don't have a yarn room but SOMEDAY I will have a kid move out or we will upgrade to a bigger house and I will strive to have my own yarn room. I started crocheting during the pandemic and am taught by You Tube Channel crochet along tutorials. I've slowly become a yard addict as well. Loving your tips on finding the deals and ways to get yarn cheaper. Just joined your channel in the past couple of days and have started binge watching to catch up. Loved Woolworths! Then it went out of business 😢. So the we got Ben Franklin😊 Then they went out of business 😞😭. I go to Hobby Lobby, Michael's Joann's or Walmart. Though they are they seem to parings down on a lot the yarns. Have been getting yarn from Mary Maxim on their clearance a long with needles and hooks. Doing binge watching!
Ĥobby Lobby is my #3 choice for average and economy yarns.. JOannis #1, Wal-Mart is #2, Michael 's gets # 4. I'm lucky to have have well stocked shelves at two local Wal-Marts. On the other hand, my Michael's is seldom stocked, often with one offering in the bins. I do a lot of on-line shopping because of my health. Thank goodness for on- line and TH-cam people to tell me how the yarn feels and works up.
Catch up viewing. 2 rooms filled with yarn oooh bliss!!! Since Covid most of our high street shops have been struggling to keep up supplies of yarn. If you watch Tracy's vids she went to Hobby Craft recently and they used to have an amazing selection but now much reduced and more expensive. You have to search around to find a store that has recently stocked up and buy it when they have it because they seem to let their supplies run down to a bare minimum before re-stocking.
Juan, I'm a little late to this video, lol.. I've gotten some nice things at the sales (and stuff that I wonder what I was rhinking) and never buy on the off sale week. HL is a bit of a drive, so I go there rarely. I never pay full price for yarn either. Yes, I very much remember Woolworth's! My friend loved to go there for lunch, so cheap! The best time to shop Hobby Lobby's yarn is during one of their two yearly yarn clearance sales. That's when they mark down specific yarn lines/colors by 75%. I save up just to shop HL yarn clearance. My very first time at a Hobby Lobby yarn clearance I bought so much yarn. The cotton was $ .89 a skein and they had hand dyed yarn for just over $3. If you ever get the chance to shop a Hobby Lobby clearance you will love it! If you want to get an idea of what you can find at a HL yarn clearance just do a search on TH-cam for Hobby Lobby yarn clearance.
I'm a Hobby Lobby girl for big box stores, but I'm an Ice yarns and Premier girl all the way. Love the yarn you chose. Cinnamon cedar is my favorite colorway. Great haul!
Hobby Lobby clearance sales 2 times a year is the best! I never pay over $1.89 per skein/ball. It is really something. I appreciate your thoughts about yarn prices. It is quite ridiculous. I am on the west coast and it is very expensive even Walmart is higher priced on Red Heart, etc... blessings

I love their yarns except I find it expensive. We don't have 3 full rows and this year there cut way back( some other stores too ) And they only sell their brand. And maybe some premier...😊🧡✌️
The Joann's in my area doesn't have a whole lot of anything, but still prefer them over Michael's. Michael's near me has monster mega holes in their yarn section. Hobby Lobby is always stocked and I'm near the smaller one near me more often, and I can always send my husband down there for something if I need it. Its less than 5 mins from where he works. The cashiers always giggle at my Joann's reusable bags. But the other Hobby Lobby, wont even use my reusable bags, I don't understand why. I don't get over to the other craft stores often, maybe once a month. Despite the bad wrap and publicity they get, my local Hobby Lobby store is so nice and helpful. My daughter makes jewlery and she prefers their selection over Michael's. I don't like that they quit doing coupons because someone abused their coupon policy.
I must ask a ? - do you knit as well as crochet ? I ask because you say needle a lot and if it is crochet it is using a hook lol must be just out of habit , you haven't talked to many people who are like us yarn yarn yarn crochet crochet crochet ! I like Hobby Lobby's annual sale , you can get skeins of yarn for real real cheap as low as .69cents when on a small budget this is great ! I got $400.00 last year for about $120.00

I have used a lot of Hobby Lobby yarn including the I love this yarn. It's a very nice soft yarn, washes and dries great. They had one called Chloe that I wish they still carried, it was a beautiful roving style yarn. That and their Prima cotton, I found only one skein and it was so soft. I really am enjoying your yarn reviews, your honest. I will be also looking at more tutorials from you as well. Thanks for your videos.

I remember going to Woolworths as a child, but not for yarn. I didn't really get into yarn until I was in my 30s, and actually didn't do any crochet at all for a couple years during the height of COVID.

Hi 👋🏽 The algorithm decided to pop you up in my “ New to you” feed. I too am a natural born Delawarean, now planted in Texas. I too crochet and most times go to JoAnn Fabrics before I even look at Michael’s. But HL is my luxury store 😂 I love their yarns 🤷🏽♀️But I do miss the 40% off they used to have. But I will tell you this: HL, every year has a 75% off clearance sale that is stellar! And no sale from any competitors will every beat it 💯 My first one was July 2019, and I only got a little, but saw others online that had been way smarter than me, and had gotten more. So in 2021 I went and got what I knew I would use, and some weights of yarn I have never used. Now I am glad I went. I have yarns that are fitting what I want to make perfectly and I can just shop my stash. Don’t close your book on HL, they are better than you think. 🧶🧶🧶🧶

I seldom go there to shop. The one time I went just looking around for yarn, I was impressed. And still am. They put out coupons too. The yarn is softer. It's not always about the cost. I like their color choices.

I mostly go to Hobby Lobby on their big sales where I can get $400-$500 in sale yarn for $75 to $90 for all. Occasionally I'll go there on biweekly sales to buy particular yarn for a project. I Love This Yarn is about my favorite brand. Can't wait to see how the Cinnamon Cedar colorway works up, love that color. Woo, the purple will be gorgeous!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I love Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton! It's my go-to for Amigurumi for cotton projects. I was hoping you had grabbed some of that. You got the most beautiful purple yarn! Yarnspriations has a C2C blanket pattern. Take a look and see if it inspires you for your project. I made that blanket for my mom for Christmas a few years back. I used Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend (discontinued now) in solid navy blue, solid white (cream) and blue variegated (I think it was called Ocean or something similar). It turned out great. So just for you as you are a hobby lobby newbie lol watch the channels and then check your store they have 2 big clearance times I have walked out of there on more than 1 occasion with 3 carts of yarn for barely $100
I am just getting back to crocheting. I wish I had found out about you prior to a major yarn purchase I made. The one bigger question that I have is I know the stitches, but starting and getting going on the first row (or two), always seems to be a bit of a mess to me. Is there any way I can make a more stable start to the projects I want to do?
I have a question, do you have to use the suggested size needle for what the yarn calls for our can you use whatever size you want?? Thank you in advance
