DO NOT DROP MOURNER TOP AND BOTTOM. When you re-acquire them, you have to go through the repairing process which adds 20mins to the quest.You can drop everything else, just not the top and bottom. Bump to save an ironmans life.
Also this is just what I did, just what I did. I left the crystal and used a CW charge first, just to save a slot. Then I didnt even bring a weapon considering I can box 15 health almost as fast as I can with a wep. It saved me a slot and a ton of weight.

Alternatively, add the 2 silk, 1 bear fur, 1 bucket of water, and 1 Tegid's soap to the item requirements, and leave them in your bank.
FOR PEOPLE COMPLETING AFTER THE RELEASE OF SONG OF THE ELVES, The colour wheel is inside the temple. Search the mourner to the EAST then South after going up the first set of stairs. EDIT: No longer required.

No mate. Where I went wrong is when you pull the lever you need to make sure you collect all the loot that he does. I ended up running off. But because my bags were rather full. I was missing 3 mirrors and 1 Crystal. It's a ballache to correct as well.. not fun lol

Duuuude, I also had to complete mourning's end part 1 and 2 for a clue (the 'la mort' song for Cecilia in Falador step) and guess what I got.. 14 sharks and a rune plateskirt... what a coincidence. Also got a rune pickaxe and an enchanted hat though.

Take more prayer pots. This guy does this real time and I ran out and died. I have to now go back and get mourner clothes because he said to drop them. The stamina pots are not important and I only took half what he said and had more than enough left over. Take lots of prayer pots. You will need to be at full prayer for over an hour.

This is a first video where i wanted to slap Slayermusiq1, but i found a solution making a video on 1.25 speed :D
Yeah, you can just 1 tick mirror rotates. Click the pillar, quickly click the rotate button and then the shade kicks you out of the menu. Check if the light is going in the right direction and proceed. It's not difficult. Protect from Melee with sufficient Prayer pots means you can totally ignore the Shades.

I am 100% with you on this one. Losing my mind watching my ironman use the prayer potions just waiting for him to tell me what to do. 55 minute video only needed to be 30 with how much he stalled.

at 91 agility you will never fail :D
1st off you don't have to unequip your weapon, neck n shield slot to get in, 2nd off if you are planning to go back in for whatever reason DO NOT drop the mourner top n bottom if you're an ironman, 3rd off you DO NOT need the color wheel at all, 4th you DO NOT need the tele crystal in your inv which is a waste of space cuz you can just tele with duel ring at the end to a bank n grab it, you also don't need that many stamina's. Prayer pots are more important, also try doing the obstacle with 100% run energy. Musiq as you know has a fetish for stamina's n lightweight...Finally other than all that it was a great guide
2022 Update - You can use a Catalytic Talisman in place of a Death Talisman (this came with the new Guardians of the Rift update).

Also there is possibilty to use death tiara to save up 1 slot space.
I don't know if doing 200 Guardians of the Rift games, on average, is better than getting the 50 items.
Quest Requirements: 99 Agility so you don't want to quit the game after.

Was furious and almost made a new comment about it since he insisted I drop my mourner's. He usually just wastes my staminas, but between fighting the shades and giving unnecessarily lengthy explanations at the pillars, I've got 9 minutes of video remaining with 24hp and similar prayer. Trying to watch it first and just remember at this point because I'll be flicking it the rest of the way..
Edit: Had to teleport out and reacquire mourner's..
This was the last quest I did to get my quest cape in 2007. 9 years later and I just completed it 10x faster lol. Thanks!

Thanks Slayermusiq1! Did the quest today (post Song of the Elves update) and with your help it was very easy and peaceful! Here's some extra tips:
- YOU WILL NEED 19 (well 17, quickly use 2 mirrors) SPARE INVENTORY SLOTS near the end of the light puzzle so don't bring /too/ much.
- Use Ancient Mace. Special attack (100%) restores prayer.
- Bring Holy Wrench. Prayer Potions restore more.
- Bring Super Energy Potions. Your run energy helps you pass agility wall so you don't need to use so many Stamina potions.

Solid meme, but he doesn't even have a MEP2 guide kek.
1. Players can now equip weapons, shields and amulets when entering Mourner HQ.
2. The Head mourner was replaced with Essyllt.
3. The Colour wheel was removed from the dead guard at the entrance of the Temple of light. A new dead guard with the Colour wheel and Scrawled notes was added by the crystal dispenser.
4. The light pillar interface was optimized to reduce the number of clicks required to place mirrors.
Since he never mentioned it in the video, you have a MUCH higher success rate on the obstacle if you have full run energy.

Tips for low agility/cb players I did this with 56 agility. Don't drop the top and bottom. You can walk out of the entrance of the puzzle temple without resetting progress. I recommend parking your main/alt/friend outside with supplies to resupply yourself. I failed the wall climb 45 times on the first puzzle and around 15 times on the other puzzle where you have to do the wallclimb again. Summer pies were used on my passed attempts so I think they made a good difference. Goodluck!
ring of wealth for teleport to grand exhange. spell teleport to auberg need water runes and law runes. and 6 pieaces of cloth. beware if u bank helm u need to get it again. make sure u bring stamina potions, prayer potions, have ingame guide. and summer pies for food and agility. you are losing hp, prayer and stamina at once

Download/Install Quest Helper off of the Plugin Hub
It highlights all the places you need to put mirrors, which mirror to use, whether it's in the right direction etc.
It spoon-feeds the whole thing, managed to do the quest 15m faster than this guide without pausing at all.
Don't get me wrong, still love my boy Slayermusiq, just on this specific quest, the plugin reaaaally helps!
Small tip. Ancient mace helps with pray bonus and the spec restores some prayer points. Could help save an inventory space.
omfg I brought it along with me because it has +1 pray bonus over other maces and didnt realise the spec stole pray, I just thought it smited! such an idiot lol!
Passed the agility part the first time no problem, second time when out of supplies I just non stop fail such an awesome quest
When I did this quest, I brought an ancient mace to make my prayer last long, it has the twofold effect of having a prayer bonus on top of having a spec that restores prayer. I was wielding it the entire time, I didn't bring a better weapon because you really don't have to kill the shades if you're good at positioning

This really wouldnt have been that bad, thanks to Slayer, had I heeded his warning about prayer bonus. If you have 70+ prayer going into this, and higher agility (I have 68), you really only need like 1 or 2 stamina potions, and maybe 2 or 3 summer pies. Use those inventory spaces to bring more prayer pots. I had to tele out half way through getting the last crystal, which sucked because then i had to go to Llyetia and kill a Mourner outside of the underground pass to get my remaining mourner pieces back so I could re-enter. For those of you who may be wondering, It's OK to at any point tele out of the puzzle. It won't reset. But if you dropped any mourners gear like he suggests, you'll have to get it back. And if you drop the top or trousers, you'll have to get them cleaned again. Slayermusiq, you damn legend, thank you for your assistance.
If you would just copy my armor and inventory, you can skip the explanations and go to 4:42.
Then if you would also skip 2 minutes of info for ironmen and other shortcuts at the dwarf; you can complete this quest in less than 50 minutes.

Not true, unless you are needing to use every inventory spot for either pots or food it's worth.
i've heard autumnelegy say something about holy wrench only being viable with almost a full invy of pray pots and reaaaally high prayer, upwards of 80-90 at least

I needed inventory space for the crystals and mirrors so i went to drop my teleport crystal thinking i was holding shift and accidentally teleported to lletya, had to get the mourners outfit and all again ffs. F
Touched on this guide for the prayer pot/stamina/summer pie/items to drop setup - very good thanks Slayer.
But my god the Runelite Quest Helper makes this a joke. Played for 15 years and never done this dogturd quest, but literally took me 30 mins with the plugin. Super easy, no stress at all. Would never ever consider it without that plugin, but all done now. SOTE time wooo!

you should all keep your mourner top and trousers to avoid messing about getting new ones. I took 3x more prayer pots than recommended and i used my last one about 2 minutes before the end so it was tight! TY for the video

Dude, I love you. This quest is so cancer and you made it very easy to everyone. I wonder how much you passed through to bring us this guide.
What's crazy to me is that in 2023 you get 60k agility exp when quest is completed. Also if you die when attempting the puzzle the first time and die, like i did, you just need to get the mourners outfit again to get into the puzzle area and you can start where you left off.
side note: when i died i had 4 crystals on me and mirrors. I waited for my gravestone to go to Deaths office and reclaimed them there. So they were in my inventory ready to go when I went to the puzzle again.
another side note: Runelite's quests plug-in helps 100x over along with following this guide.

Never thought I'd be back here again after getting my first questcape.. but here I am again. Great guide but definitely a good tip for irons is that once you unlock the light door with the dwarf we can use the exit next to him that leads to the underground pass to give him stuff. Helped me a ton.

Doing this on 12/29/2022 - few updates for y'all
lvl 108 mourners don't attack you as long as you have full mourner set on, weapons, shields, etc, don't matter even when running back
6:03 - Essyllt (not head mourner) will not give you the key without a free inventory space, also the mourners didn't attack me with weapon wielded to pick up the key
7:46 - The guard only gives the journal, not the color wheel (you don't need it) [btw it is found on a new body by the crystal dispenser]
9:38 - You no longer need to use the blackened crystal on Eluned, it happens automatically during first conversation
you can complete the maze without the death talisman
- skip to 51:42 for ironman or those without death talisman (make sure you pay attention to the mirror flip when leaving, or go back through underground pass, gonna test abyss myself)
~edit~ you cannot enter the death rune portal from abyss
~edit~ you cannot use nor wear a catalytic tiara on the mysterious ruins to enter the death altar T_T (I see people have used the catalytic talisman, but since mine was already imbued in tiara, rip)
~edit~ don't be like me and ignore the fact that you need to keep flipping the mirror to get back in... this is easily the worst quest in RS I've ever done
~edit~ don't leave your "new key" in the bank while running your 50 items, you cannot search the desk for one nor get one from Essyllt, you have to retrieve it from your bank. (lol... I wish I was joking)
~edit~ as of what seems to be feb 10 (tomorrow) you can now use catalytic tiara woo

Bring Ancient mace if you have done the quest. you can get free pray xp. Please like so people see and it makes it easier for them for this shitty quest. Edit: better yet a sgs for free pray and health

***to get new mourners set, kill the level 11 at the gates near the outpost, steal tegids soap at tav clothing line in the basket, use the soap and a bucket of water on the mourners top. then take 2 silk and a bear fur to the clothing lady at lletya to repair the legs.

I did this just now and tele'd out. it's currently 1:50 am. I won't be done with this quest now until 3am.
As long as you remember to turn the red light back to the double staircase to not lock yourself out you can bank fairly quick in ardougne
Oh man, I accidentally died during the quest because of a phone call! I had to get the mourner outfit again and all of the other pieces. That was horrible, further this quest has to be made to hate your life ffs haha. Without you it wouldn't have been possible to do this quest, thanks so much once again for this guide! wait, I feel let down. I thought Mourning's end would entail like a massive fight between the elves and the Mouners or something, not a massive puzzle

this guide added with RuneLite is insanely easy, i completed like 11 min faster then the guild and only used this uncase i got stuck.

CAUTION - Do not pull the crystal lever when you are already part way through like I did (to get more mirrors) - it will reset everything back to the beginning.

Uhh my light isn’t yellow anymore?? It’s only white? It’s says I can’t use the chisel on black rock cause I don’t need it at this time or something like that? I get to the mirror part but when I get the the part where it’s a yellow light mine is only white? I have know idea what I did anyone mind helping?
