Mass migration has caused the breakdown of our infrastructure that can't cope with the extra population. People have been flying in and staying (without permission to do so) since the 70s. The population is far higher than the ONS stats.

The UK can import as many foreigners as they like. But if there are no homes for all the new ones, those who already live in the country will have problems with higher house prices, rent prices and finding a home themselves. Seems rather aimless.

You dont need migration for economic growth. You need a population willing to work.
As a legal immigrant from Hong Kong, I’d say on paper, multiculturalism seems cool, it’s nice getting to see different ppl from different cultures.
Problem is when u have mass migration with ppl who barely speak the language, barely share or has no intention to share the local way of life, values etc, it wouldn’t work. You’d just see a bunch of ppl creating their mini societies, that’s basically colonisation.
If u love your own culture and country so much, why are u even here? Just for the benefits? If you plan to permanently move to a new place u better show some damn respect to the hosts.

@@1minuteskin I encourage you to do some research. A quick google search will show u that most of us are not refugees. I only know of a few main activists that are genuinely fleeing persecution have calmed asylum in the UK and other countries, and they have came into the country legally beforehand.
I and most of us came under the British National (Overseas) scheme. Ppl born under the British rule( before 1997) has the BNO passport. We get vetted, go through background checks, pay our (high and recently increased)fees to get our BNO visa to enter LEGALLY. We are not eligible for any benefits, but pay our taxes just like everyone else.

I would highly encourage you to look up the statistics on crime rate by ethnicity. When was the last time you heard a HK immigrant committed a violent crime? Plotted a terrorist attack? Committed a terrorist act? Acid attack? Grooming gang? Rape ?

Qualified engineers are being drafted into the UK, by doing this the apprenticeship opportunities have halved in the UK. Nobody wants to train the youth so they end up working in Amazon warehouses on minimum wage. To be a qualified electrician you have to have a sponsor of a company that will take you on, nobody is doing this. You cannot get a college place to be an electrician without a company taking you on as an apprentice. These qualified engineers are coming in from abroad and other countries and stopping our youngsters getting the training. You can do these training courses that cost £10,000 but there is no grant for UK apprentices. If you are an asylum seeker you can get the training for free, paid for by the British tax payer. We are destroying our own children's opportunities to get skilled. Absolute madness

Here's a thought. Stop benefits for anyone under the age of 25, instead, enrol them (male & female (there are no other genders)) in skilled-based programs where each participant gets the equivalent of a benefit plus travel allowance (bus fare, or a bus pass). If they leave the program then all (financial) benefits are stopped for at least 12 months, reassessed thereafter. No one should be paid by the state/taxpayer for doing nothing. As for illegals & legal immigrants, no benefits should be given. For dependents of students, no benefits are to be given. Summarize, the UK is in debt, let's sort that out & at the same time reduce benefits as a way of life.
