I had a good look at that truck at a pull in Bowling Green Missouri. I had a good chat with the owner. I appreciated it.

@@obs7.326 I have watched him pull in person and on TH-cam. The truck looks good, sounds good, and pulls good, but I don't think the performance is above average from what I've seen. That may be the reason it doesn't catch more attention. Very nice truck though.
@@lowellmiller6663 if it was easy to get that engine to perform at an above “average level” everyone would have one..... That’s the disadvantage of going against the grain in this sport.... especially for a few guys without unlimited funds...... just my two cents.

@@truck6280 well yeah a Detroit dd15 isn't cheap it is a full on class 9 truck motor that has easily more than double the displacement as all the trucks in this video
The pro mod trackers with multiple motors are about 50,000 per motor, an oil change after every pull, and the frame for the tractor and the other parts are about 75,000
@@grummittracing29j that's mad I knew they were expensive but not like that....and here I am worried about my daily Driver Focus ST if the motor ever blows and I think $3k is alot lol...can't imagine putting 25k plus Into a motor 75k plus into a truck and having it blow up in front of me..I'd be hurt lol

It was more so just ironic that it was called the Cummins killer and it went out there and died while losing to a Cummins.
Yea thats true, it's like top fuel. Design an engine that lasts maybe 4 or 5 pulls then needs torn down
Diesels were never Chevy’s strong suite. In my opinion I think real Chevy power and reliability comes from their gas engines

These truck "Litterally" can only run that at high rpms btw drop em too low and that's when the carnage happens.... So don't think it'll work no trans can hold up to 3000hp and limitless toque at 1000rmp you get far less toque at 5000rpm HP tamed is fine but toque breaks shit at those numbers. Just look up Sand dune uphill racing and see the effects of toque uncontroled

It's amazing how huge this event is now. The first time I went I think was DIDC 3 or 4 and they were running a really old sled, old tractors, and the biggest trucks there were built by Lead Foot and DTS in either the 2.6 or 3.0 class. Now you have a Lucas PPL sled with touring pullers showing up. I can't wait for this to become a sanctioned Lucas event.

What causes the bouncing in 4x4 trucks? Is it the low air pressure in the tires? Poor application of the throttle? They don’t have suspension right?

This is an awesome event that keeps getting better every year. Keep in mind this was only one class of trucks at event.

Ya know i get mad cuz you don't see alot of 7.3s pulling you can get alot of power from a 7.3 you gotta know how to build it but at the same time I'm kinda glad that you don't see very many on the track couldn't bare to see a 7.3 be beat like that lol

At 5:07 "Grin and Bear it" the 1967 Chevy. He had a strong pull till he blew a turbo hose off i'm guessing. Is he running a in-line six under the hood?

Most have water ballest in the large front "bumper". It's just sloshing out during the pull.

One thing to point out is that is scheids pro stock truck that won didn’t even have the super stock
Its running its super stock setup here but yes the truck usually does run in Pro Stock.

I don't understand whatsoever if they're dragging it how does it get rolling and why does it randomly just stop the trucks like is there a rope attached to the Tractor making it harder and harder and harder and harder and harder to pull on

I dont know much about this sport but can someone please educate me as to what that big board is at the front of the engines? Im guessing some sort of cooling system?
Primarily its to add weight to the front but in some classes yes it does hold ice and water for an intercooler setup.

It’s hard to get the pullers to say but I’ve been told the Cummins turn over 6 grand. Don’t know for sure though.
