Gorgeous! I too am fond of all clematis. I love your garden space. Hydrangeas are another of my favorites too. I'm not having a lot of luck growing barefoot roses, clematis or hydrangeas on our new property. We live on the dry side of the cascade mountains, we moved off grid a couple years ago and now live at 3700ft with a short growing season. I have planted 3 different varieties this year from very small nursery starts, only one of which has done well and might even open its blooms before we get a frost.
Very nice tip for my beautiful sieboldii. I had this plant for nearly 5 years , but on one summer it died. I really love to have it again. Not sure if it comes from seeds ? Can I please request to share some seeds. Thank you
It's my first time growing clematis ,so when I got the bareroot I planted it on its side due to the way the stout was growing parallel to the soil surface.the vines are growing but do you think I will have problems with the plant later on?
I want so much to plant a clematis. Any advice on the best and most reliable source for this? Maybe a supplier with the most choices available? I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.
How can I grow a clematis plant to cascade over a staggered block wall? I don’t want it to climb up anything. The bottom of the staggered block wall is asphalt and rocks so I can’t grow anything there. I just would love to train it to grow on the staggered block wall.
Try "Butterfly WEED" ( asclepias tuberosa) which is a small relative of the common milkweed. ...which grows in sandy grasslands, roadway shoulders, in very poor soil with no organic material. They Dislike a lot of water. They LOVE Full Sun. I've found them growing in the gravel between the rails of a local railroad. . Also, I thought most horticulturists and growers pronounced the name of the plant as "CLEM-a-tis" , as opposed to "Cle-MAT-is". Is this ignorance on the part of some,..... or is it a regional thing ? Isn't putting compost on top of the clematis roots a form of fertilising it? Isn't that contradicting the advice to not fertilise while the clematis is in bloom?
Hi Hassan. When you check information about clematis, you can see -heat tolerant clematis.Like Patricia Ann Fretwell (Parfar).Or Alba Luxurians(good one),Betty Corning, madame Julia Correvon. And check zone -hardiness and heat zone. Evergreen clematis Apple Blossom is my dream, but my zone very cold for this plant,we have cold winter.Good luck
Chemicals of any kind in the garden are a definite no-no to me. Real gardeners don't use synthetic man made poison to help something grow, by killing something else in the chain of life.
7 years later and this video is still great information! 😊👍
Gorgeous ! Thanks for the tips! subscribed!
"Clematis without a lattice"
I could have never been able to make it saying that without mixing up words! Lol

That’s a very unusual kind of clematis we didn’t have it here in canada.
All the while i thought clematis wants dry soil .
My Clematis just started blooming. It's leaves are yellowish. What does it need?
Beautiful, thanks will follow your method
What variety of Jackmanii is that?
Good to know when to fertilise correctly....
HJD for me there is no correct or wrong way of fertilizing, they are very sturdy plants, they need morning watering and whole day of sunshine.

summer time chemicals will not kill your plants, it's the damn rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks will eat your plants!
