The company I work for operates two G280’s and I maintain them both. We bought them new and the first one will be 10 years soon. We ordered two replacements and had to wait over a year and a half to get the first one. Beautiful aircraft. I was told that it is the fastest jet Gulfstream makes from takeoff to cruise altitude… after that the large cabin aircraft will pass it. Great video…
The 280 is aging. Gulfstream's next clean sheet design will be in this supermid category. Embraer makes a superior super midsized for 4 Million less (Praetor 600) Gulfstream has some work to do to remain competitive in the super midsized category. Gulfstream's recent announcements in the large biz jet category (400, 800, 700) keep it competitive there, although Bombardier (Global Express models) and soon Dassault (6x and 10x) have some strong contenders there too. Not sure I've ever seen this level of competitiveness in the bizjet industry.
I think Gulfstream still have the large jet category under control in terms of sales volume. It will be interesting to see if/how they choose to compete in this super-mid category. Certainly they cannot compete on price with the Praetor series so they will need to provide better performance and/or comfort (also very difficult to do). Then again, Bombardier's Challenger 350/3500 has out-sold Embraer despite being inferior on paper. I imagine that there will likely be a G300 launched in the near future if they choose to compete in that space but they might decide it's not the market that they want to be in.
NOT Aging, Gulfstreams most selling Aircraft! If aging, why is It, you can't you get one for at least 2 years! I think there are 95% that would want one! Highest Thrust to Weight Aircraft in its Class. It is truly an amazing aircraft. 125 Cubic Feet of Baggage that can hold up to 1,980 lbs. The Entry is unlike no other. Competitors almost have a step ladder style door to climb to get in!
It's a beautiful aircraft. To bad our airport's runway is at 4800 feet in length. A 10 pax aircraft like the G280 would be perfect for our future needs.

The biggest difference between G-200 and G-280 in my opinion is the elevator. It’s a T tail now. Probably you forgot to mention this.
