None of this worked for me, my notifications still keep coming up on my lock screen :( I have previews to Never and the Notification Centre is turned off - any suggestions?
My iPhone is set to show preview when unlocked but I’m able to see the name of the person who sent me. Could any one help me solve this issue.
If my phone is locked, it does not send any sounds. It will not show up on my locked screen either. If I happen to turn on my phone I will see the banner but I have missed several messages by hours. All my notifications are turned on. Any help?!?
Well, I found that particularly cool in connection with Face ID. I had to manually turn that ON, after I restored my backup to my new iPhone X, as it seems to just show everything, as it did on iPhone 7 Plus.
So, I was more expecting a video on how to turn this ON, not OFF 😅

This is the main reason the Touch ID is more convenient. I don’t want my iPhone to show me full notifications after I lift it up. I want to be able to trigger previews when I want them, such as laying my finger on a sensor. This is a security hole in my opinion. They should change always on Face ID scanning to on demand scan if I press some portion of the screen (presumably bottom). The same applies for purchases and Apple Pay usage. Until they fix it, I’m staying with Touch ID.

I'm using iPhone SE but with iOS 12 and it keeps hiding the previews despite with this "always" setting. Really annoying...

I had them to see previews but I rather them NOT SHOW AT ALL
My notifications still kept showing up when phone is locked and someone else looks at my phone. I checked that it’s on “When Locked” and it was. So I tried changing it to “Never” and my friend was still able to see all my notifications. 😩
When I’m using my phone and I get a notification sometimes I ignore it and don’t open it ,then i turn my iPhone off and it will appear in the lock screen , I don’t like that can that be fixed ?

Is there a way that when my screen is locked and I get a WhatsApp notification that also the contact name is private? Meaning I just see that I got a WhatsApp but only when Face ID then tells

Offtopic: This is why Android systems are a no-go for me. There is not the slightest configurability present in Android that lets me take an influence on how notifications are (not) displayed. iOS is perfectly configurable, for each individual app, for each individual form of notification (Banner, Sound, Notification Center, Badge...)

I use both, on android I just disable all notifications on the lock screen, just use notification led or use the always on display.
Apple notification is still messy but I customise some to go the cover sheet and some only show in history so I don’t have to see every notification only urgent ones.
